24-25 Fantasy League (seeking additional members)
Dutchrudder replied to Baboontyme's topic in Basketball
I had that team last year, and traded Miller in for Cade in the middle of the season. I did add Jared McCain as a free agent to my team when losing was inevitable in case he was worth keeping. Otherwise Collins or Poetl are probably the best value to keep. -
2025-26 Houston Rockets Thread - Back to Contention?

No no no, I have it on good authority that he's too short and will never amount to anything in the league. Don't get your hopes up, these analysts watch a lot of games and post on message boards that cost $9.95 a month. -

Love it, this is exactly how you take a TR character and make it work with a longer format. Friendship failed to do that well enough to make it believable, and it showed. I like how he lies to get through difficulties with the normies, it helps hide his truly weird nature and will allow him to build up that steam inside until he ultimately explodes. It has a lot of potential, and I can't wait to see where it goes. HBO said it was their best comedy premiere in 5 years with over 1.5m viewers. Don't you think that is really quite weird?

Needs to be both a salary cap and a salary floor. Don't let cheapass teams become parasites of the league, but also try to keep the spending somewhat level among the top teams. Adding a hard cap and deleting the luxury tax would be great for the league, because it would remove some barriers to spending by those middle class teams that won't go above that first tax threshold. A $300m hard cap and $150m floor would do wonders to improve teams and make them be more creative about how they spend their money. However, the poors love the luxury tax system for the free money, and most of the big teams don't mind paying it.

I listened to that Cuban interview on the plane yesterday, and it was cringey how non-committal he was to everything. For being such a brash, arrogant and opinionated guy, he sure can't seem to connect the dots on any of this. Cuban also dismissed every anonymous source Pablo has interviewed to help build the case for PTFOs conclusions, and made it seem as if they are lying or embellishing their knowledge. I would have loved to see Pablo dig at Cuban more about the "when does the owner of a team learn about a 28m endorsement deal?" Line of questions. Marc deferred that duty to his President of BB Ops, and said he wouldn't be involved. At some point he would learn about it later in time, but well after it is executed. The problem with that explanation is the amount of money, $28m over 4 years is like shoe deal money. How often do you, as an owner, see deals that big? How often are they no-show deals? How often do you see company stock given to a player as part of a deal? Would that kind of deal raise any red flags for you? If your alternate governor donated 2m to a business that was paying one of your players, would you be suspicious of their purposes? Plenty of more questions to compare his supposedly clean operation with the dirty Clippers. And how the hell does Cuban not seem to recall anything about the DeAndre Jordan deal? Just feels like he's lying and playing dumb to cover for daddy Balmer.

JP did one of those Surrounded videos a.few months ago, and it was incredibly satisfying to anyone familiar with his evasive tactics and completely empty philosophy. The video was originally titled "1 Christian vs 20 Atheists" but later changed Christian to Jordan Peterson, because he never actually claimed to be one. The guy is so devoted to not picking a side on anything so you can't needle him on any specific beliefs, but it did not hold up for this "debate." The whole thing is interesting if you have time or need a podcast to listen to, as many of his opponents were well prepared. The best part is where he "GETS DESTROYED" by this kid:

Gotta feel good for Brewers fans to send that traitor Craig Counsell and his team home for the year. 0-10 incoming...

Wow, that was a crazy game, congrats to the Ms fans. Gonna be a tough hill to climb to beat the Blue Jays now, but at least you're in the ALCS.

So what's the rule about a starting pitcher is allowed come back into a game if the entire bullpen has been used? Should be getting close to that point for both teams.

Nice play there, beautiful throw
