  1. I dunno if I would call any offense headed by Kirk Cousins "awesome" but they would be a lot better having any player on the field instead of a very expensive backup QB. I still can't believe they didn't work a trade with the Vikings or Broncos to go back a few spots and pickup a 3rd. 3-4 spots back to 11/12 is worth about that much, and they could have gotten more by playing them against each other. Then they could have traded back more to get more picks and fill out their roster.
  2. I don't see how that isn't blocking the plate under the new rules. The catcher clearly kneels down into the batters box area before he has the ball, and the runner looked safe anyway. Just look at this frame with the ball still not in the glove yet:
  3. There was this gem of a play by Joey, who appears to be one of our OFs of the future.
  4. Funny thing about the Clips/76ers situations is that the Harden trade actually gave the 76ers a some more flexibility this offseason by dumping PJ Tucker's 11.5m on LAC. The 76ers have 4 guys under contract for a total of 63m, and Maxey is an RFA. Obviously they need to give Maxey the max extension, but before they do, he only counts as a 13m cap hold. This may give the 76ers an opportunity to snag a guy like Paul George in free agency. I would not be surprised to see PG bail on LAC, unless they can convince a bunch of guys to squad up for cheap, like Harden, Westbrook, Lebron, etc. The 76ers could also chase some other names that will likely be getting some large sized contracts like Siakam, Derozan, Bruce Brown, OG Anunoby or maybe even Lebron. They could possibly use cap space to trade and absorb a big contract too, lean into that shithead mentality that Embiid tends to exude, and go get Draymond from Golden State. And while we're on random free agency topics, I think the Spurs should go after Tyus Jones this offseason. They need a selfless point guard to help run the offense, and I think he would be a good fit. He's a really good 3pt shooter, distributor and ball handler, which would compliment that offense very well. Plus he's still young at 27 years old, so a 4 year deal wouldn't be too risky for them. He played pretty well on a terrible Wizards team this season, and despite having to work with the shit roster they had, he was still a bright spot. Just think what he could do with some decent coaching and teammates that aren't selfish chuckers. I think it would be fun to see Harden and Westbrook come to Houston on cheap deals and group up with their young players. The Rockets could try to trade FVV+stuff to the Suns for KD, assuming the Suns see the light at the end of the tunnel is fading, begin rebuilding and ship Booker off somewhere else. It would be fun to see those guys together with Sengun, Adams, Jabari and a bunch of supporting players.
  5. Late game tonight is Clips/Mavs for a pivotal Game 5 at 9pm CST. Whoever loses this series is probably going to be making a lot of big changes in the offseason, so a lot on the line. Winner gets to play a very young and inexperienced OKC, which should be a good series either way.
  6. If only there was a place on this roster for Vic to start more I bet he could really help this team... I guess we will never know.
  7. Mobley with a hell of a block to save the game!
  8. Out of the teams on that side of the bracket, I would like to see Indy go to the ECF. They should wrap up their series tonight and have a few days rest before playing again. Cavs/Magic has been really close all game, hoping the Cavs pull it out here and go up 3-2, cause I don't see them winning 2 in a row. They need some time to prepare for the Celtics if they can finish off the Magic.
  9. The Falcons are doubly stupid because they are in the weakest division in the NFL, where 9 wins might get you a home playoff game, and they didn't bother maximizing the impact of players for this year. Trading back from 8 would have been really smart in retrospect, because there wasn't even a single defensive player taken for 15 picks. They could have moved back and picked up some more 2nds and 3rds, and still got their top pick on defense. Move back more and you still get a top 5 defensive player on your board. There's nothing about Penix that makes me think he's worth that pick, or that he's so monumentally better than any QBs coming out in 25/26 that you needed to get him now. They could have done so much more with it, but I'm glad I'm not a Falcons fan.
