  1. If you're looking for a bellcow, especially for those Houston kids, Demetrius Davis is probably going to be more effective.
  2. Top 65 in Texas for Rivals. Davis #42, McRee #63. https://n.rivals.com/state_rankings/2021/texas
  3. If Roach is talking about Milroe not being done, I doubt it has anything ot do with Davis.
  4. Does Milroe even know Juan Davis? I guess I shouldn't doubt him at this point.
  5. SIAP, but Juan Davis runs on Everman's 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams, 200 meters, and triple jump.
  6. So this offensive class looks very doable right now. Milroe 2 of Johnson, Wheaton, and Campbell Davis(Z), Earle(H), Neville(X) McRee(Y), Davis(TE) Brock(LT), Conner(LG), Brock(C), Foster(RG), Byrd(RT) Bowman(ATH)
  7. Roach with a run of crystal ball picks this morning. Byrd = SMU Davis = USC Foster = OU Smith = Texas
  8. Keeping Meh over Samples is going to cost us Davis, Wheaton, and who knows who else. Byrd?
  9. https://247sports.com/player/quaydarius-davis-46055970/ Roach has him CB'd to Texas since 3/6/2019
  10. Ketch's LSR 100 https://n.rivals.com/ranks/3764 TL;DR It's not bad. He LOVES Wheaton, thinks LJ is overrated. Too high on Coffey and Burris, thinks Chris Murray is heavily underrated. Cooks at 72 is the only egregious miss imo. Sturdivant ahead of Quay, JoJo ahead of both. Ish is too low in the 20s. Mukuba is too low in the 50s.
  11. The guys who I think have an argument for being in the top ten in the state, in no particular order Tommy Brockermeyer Donovan Jackson Savion Byrd Bryce Foster JoJo Earle Quay Davis Shadrach Banks LJ Johnson Camar Wheaton Ja'Tavion Sanders Landon Jackson Tunmise Adeleye Terrence Cooks Billy Bowman Ishmael Ibraheem That's 15. If I was trying to make a top ten ranking, the first ones I'd drop would probably be Foster, Davis, and then maybe the running backs or Byrd. I like Milroe the most of the in-state QBs for college and there might be five of them I'd consider in the teens, but the top ten is too loaded for me to think of any of them as being top ten types. I think Nahlin said that Thomas might be a top ten or fifteen guy in the state, but there's no junior hudl for me to watch to justify including him, but sounds like he'd be a high quality add. Aside from the QBs and Thomas, I think Sturdivant, Hayden Conner, and El Arroyo are probably up next; I'm probably higher on those three than most.
  12. I like Davis a lot. I saw him up close against LT and he was very impressive. His poise, touch, and control of the game were all top notch. He is deceptively fast and a strong runner. I would love to have Davis, Evans, George, and Banks off that NS team.
  13. Looks like we are in a real good spot with Davis and JoJo for WR in 2021. I'm guessing we'll probably take 3?
  14. EJ put in a CB for Quaydarius Davis to the good guys and changed his pick for Donovan Jackson from A&M to cloudy.
  15. https://247sports.com/Player/Raesjon-Davis-46056065/ Don't know if I've ever seen the Scandinavian "sj" in a Rashan variant before.
  16. Feel like it happens to aggy once a year. Daylon Mack, Leon O'Neal, Bobby Brown, Quartney Davis, Buddy Johnson...
  17. and herman’s offense wants multiple TE. if we don’t take anyone in 2020 I hope mcree and davis are great players.
  18. Longhorns lose commitment from 2021 WR Quaydarius Davis By MIKE ROACH 7 hours ago The 2020 Texas class was hit with decommitments over the last few weeks. That trend extended to the 2021 class when Quaydarius Davis made a decision to decommit. The four-star Dallas Skyline wide receiver was the first commitment in the 2021 class and a key member of the Dallas to Austin movement. Davis was won over when former assistant wide receiver coach Ra’Shaad Samples was on staff. Following his departure to SMU, Davis affirmed his commitment on several occasions but he was still looking to take visits and listening to other programs. The rise in prominence for SMU this season and their influence recruiting in Dallas had some effect into the situation. Sources told Horns247 that Davis began to contemplate decommitting out of the blue over the weekend, and Davis tweeted that he made the decision after talking it over with his family. Davis originally chose Texas over offers from Alabama, LSU, Florida, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Oregon, and Texas A&M. Davis was the third highest-ranked prospect among the 2021 Texas commits. Davis's decommitment drops the 2021 class to No. 4 nationally but the Longhorns retain the No. 1 spot in the Big 12. This decommitment is the second for Davis after he previously defected from an early SMU commitment during the spring. Davis was primarily recruited by Texas wide receivers coach Drew Mehringer in addition to Samples who was on staff during the time of his commitment. The Longhorns will now look to go in a few different directions moving forward. The 2021 class is still young, and the state is deep in talent at the slot receiver position. The Longhorns are currently pursuing prospects like four-star Aledo WR JoJo Earle, four-star The Woodlands wide receiver Teddy Knox, four-star Allen wide receiver Bryson Green and four-star Allen wide receiver Blaine Green. Davis profiled to a few different positions on the Texas depth chart. Originally he appeared to be a pure "z" prospect who lines up to the field side and pushes defenses vertically. His fluidity and quickness in space appeared to be a strong fit at the "H" position in the slot. Davis was seen as a dynamic playmaker who could spread out the middle of the field and do damage from different parts of the formation just like Texas senior wide receiver Devin Duvernay. At 6-feet, 193 pounds, Davis is ranked as the No. 19 wide receiver in the nation and No. 15 overall prospect in Texas, according to 247Sports Composite. The 2021 Texas class consists of four-star Denton Ryan ATH Ja'Tavion Sanders, four-star Katy Tompkins quarterback Jalen Milroe, four-star Denton Ryan ATH Billy Bowman, four-star Katy Taylor offensive tackle Hayden Conner, four-star New Caney outside linebacker Derrick Harris Jr., three-star Lake Travis tight end Lake McRee, and three-star Everman ATH Juan Davis. https://247sports.com/college/texas/Article/Texas-Longhorns-Football-Recruiting-Four-star-Skyline-wide-receiver-Quaydarius-Davis-decommits-from-Texas-138447829/
  19. He was good at football his sophomore year of high school. When you take a year off to rehab, you have to prove it again and the Prince of Processing isn't going to wait around long. I imagine he'll end up decommitting halfway through his senior season and sign with rapelor on signing day. Either that, or he's still good at football and still goes to Bama. The one time transfer rule is implemented just in time for Saban's departure and a mass exodus occurs when Dabo and Kirby turn them down. Alabama rolls into Austin in 2022 and is forced to start rs-fr Latrell McCutchin due to the thinned out secondary. Quay Davis goes for 146 and 2 TDs, the last one coming as time expires and Latrell gets Moss'd in front of his family and friends. Or something else, idk.
  20. What position does Surly think Juan Davis ends up playing. (He looks like he might be a defensive player??)
  21. That's the current speculation. Davis is good, but I would've thought King would want to stick with Milroe. Especially with how close the two seem.
  22. I wonder if Davis actually plays a position other than QB, if he gets re-evaluated and the accompanying BOMC ratings bump.
  23. With Juan Davis in the boat and the staff clearly in love with Elijah Arroyo, they're reaching an inflection point where they need to make a choice on King.
  24. Man, King and Arroyo look like studs. I don't see anyway we can land both + already having Davis.
  25. I'd also wager that Davis' frame isn't done growing, given that he hasn't even begun his junior year yet.
