Everyone Gets a Trophy Podcast (Scipio Tex)   "The Irate Eight"    Aug 3rd

https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-irate-eight/id1479624200?i=1000530907624

Paul & Kevin dive into the SEC related mailbag. Listeners have lots of questions. Which one of Sark's mentors should he most emulate? How can Texas position itself as the cool SEC school West of the Mississippi for West Coast recruits? How to best characterize the Texas-OU relationship now and what does it have to do with Wil E Coyote? Another listener challenges us and offers the only time when it's OK to chant S-E-C. Then they talk about the Irate 8 and their refusal to deal with a new reality off of the Longhorn tit.

The Sweet Nectar Of Fall

https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-sweet-nectar-of-fall/id1479624200?i=1000531650765

It's hitting weather and there's real football to discuss. Paul and Kevin break down the early Fall camp battles at QB, WR, LB, nickel. What can we learn about Sark's QB selection from the Matt Leinart/Matt Cassel QB battle at USC? How will Sark manage experience vs. upside in the early part of the season? Then it's on to the mailbag: How will Paul's football preview adapt to the SEC? Is ESPN incentivized to help Texas and OU get out of the Big 12 contract early? Never let your money get mad.

The Thinking Texas Football Longhorn football preview is out. Buy it on Smashwords (Kindle), Amazon (paperback), and Apple.

I usually find RJ Young kind of tedious to listen to, as he tends to wander off topic, but occasionally, he makes a good point.  Here he takes issue with the notion that Texas and OU are going to find out out it's like to play "real" football once they join the SEC, and he's right...I think those goobers in our new neighborhood have no clue what's about to hit them in the face once we move in.

Critical Fanboys     (Aug 24th)

https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/critical-fanboys/id1479624200?i=1000533026424

Paul and Kevin talk about balancing being a fanboy with critical analysis of the program. Also, who is the real KD? Hint: he's 6'11". Then they break down the Texas schedule and try to power rank the toughest opponents in order of difficulty. For Paul, the rankings have a lot to do with where the opponents falls on the schedule over actual quality. Kevin offers his evaluation of Paul's rankings and much, much more.

Is Strength Ever A Weakness?   ( Aug 26th)

https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/is-strength-ever-a-weakness/id1479624200?i=1000533212662

Paul goes solo on this special supplemental episode to discuss college football S&C, what Torre Becton brings to Texas (spoiler: Paul doesn't know), and many of the fallacies and dichotomies that define the conversation around training for speed, power, strength, and agility. What can we learn from Ben Johnson, Sebastian Coe, and Barry Sanders with respect to the value of strength training? Is being strong ever a weakness? Why is improving force production the best way to improve power and why does rate of force training have inherent diminishing returns? If this topic intrigues you, give it a listen. But listen to it all.

"Can Card Come Up Aces?"

https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/can-card-come-up-aces/id1479624200?i=1000533706448

It's game time!  Anticipation is running high throughout the Longhorn kingdom. After a quick discussion of the last weekend of early college football returns, attention turns to Steve Sarkisian's confirmation that Hudson Card is the starting QB at Texas. Why? And what will it mean for the offense? Then it's on to a in-depth discussion of the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns. What advantages do the Horns hold over this deeply experienced football team and how can they avoid the Cajuns inflicting another high profile opening upset? How will the Cajuns game plan Texas? Should Longhorn fans be satisfied with a close win?
