At any rate, to say it was a fucking madhouse is the understatement of the century. I have kids but they're older now (one in college, one a senior in HS). I appreciated having a place where you could take kids with other families and they could entertain themselves while the parents were able to kick back and enjoy time with friends, maybe have a beer or two. This is not that. Holy shit -- kids were running this way and that, crawling under the tables where not-their-parents were sitting, inflatable balls knocking over glasses and such. Total mayhem until they started filtering out close to 9. The pizza was decent enough but I don't see myself fighting through that scene again any time soon.

Never been on a Fri/Sat night but several Saturday and Sunday afternoons. The key is to go when it's not busy and send the kids outside to play and be degenerates (with nobody but kids outside) while parents stay inside and eat and drink.  Exactly what you describe in that scenario (my kids are 6 and 8).  It's also a solid weeknight place to meet up for a drink and bite.  Not many kids around then.

Finally made it over to Vector Brewing in Lake Highlands on Saturday evening. A good friend's nephew is the lead singer for a band of HS sophomores at Lake Highlands and they played a gig on the patio. We were at a friend's house watching football during the afternoon and when I mentioned to one of my wife's close friends where we here headed she asked if we wanted to take one or both of her kids. She joked that there are kids everywhere and that at 8, they slowly kick all the kids out and it turns into a bar/brewery.

Was coming home a couple weeks ago from a meeting and wife said pick up a couple of pizzas.  I know that means for her thin crust from Pizza Hut with extra cheese and our toppings.  I was thinking Corky’s. I remembered Zalat had a south Arlington joint so I pulled into  the lot and ordered.  Walked in at the appointed time.

got home and they were cold. The crust was awful, hard and tough.  Like a cardboard disc under a frozen pie.  Cheese on one was practically non existent.  The other had little cheese but it was overcooked into cheese leather.  Toppings were scant.  Pepperoni and salami was transparent, shaved black olives (huh?), and veg were skimpy.  $50 for garbage.  It happens. I’m a retail veteran. Dude had a bad night.  Called the store. No answer that night or any day subsequent.  They have no public phone for HQ. They sent me a text a minute after I left. Sent the details.  Zip.  I wrote a couple reviews online.  Got a robot response to one.  Send a note to “support”.  Sent four more. Nothing.

I always am interested in how retailers handle problems.  I might learn something.  I have gotten those calls from customers:  “ your directv installer is urinating in my kitchen sink!” “Your car installer ripped my leather in my Jaguar with his Makita!”, “your salesman is hitting on my wife!”.  Things that aren’t in the faqs.  Or SOM.  Wife worked in the largest cemetery/funeral in Memphis. They fuck up.  Bring the wrong corpse out for visitation.  Give em a silly hairdo. Lose the cremains.  How do you solve it?

companies that try to automate problems will generally just fuck it up.  I just want my money back.

Jet's Pizza is our go-to now.  We got it a few years back for a super bowl watching party and we don't get anything else now.  Love the Detroit style pizza.
