i just find it ironic when the people making the dumbest argument are the only ones talking shit.

Saying that he’s probably not hurt is not the dumbest argument, especially if he’s been wearing a red jersey in practice until now.

is this good mechanics or not? if not, then this shit should have been corrected at Texas after 2 years

have you ever been in a situation where its financially beneficial for you to fleece a client ?

I feel the same way. It’s interesting to see how the NFL is bleeding into the college game now. I think we forget how serious a lot of these players have been for years before they even get to college. From my limited experience with my own kids, if there’s a couple of elite kids in a grade they are getting put into NFL style programs around the 5th or 6th grade where they have 7 on 7, nutrition, personal trainers, the whole nine yards. They’re showing up to these colleges with teams around them trying to make the league. Then you funnel those types up to the best programs and it’s not that far fetched that a guy like Patricia can get them running NFL schemes at a reasonably high level. I think it’s great.

the argument was not that he’s “probably not hurt”, it was that he couldn’t possibly be hurt since it was our first game. and yes, that’s an incredibly stupid take. seeing the people giving that take calling others stupid deserved a call out.

For the most part yes but college coaches have gone in and slayed.  See chip kellys first couple of years.  College coaches had to be innovative. Now give a guy on a redemption ark (ha) like Patricia nine months to prep well you saw the result

Is there anything Arch can do vs SJSU to change your opinion of him positively or negatively.   I’ll say I’m still high on but a 30/35 for 350 performance won’t really change much.   Now a 15 for 32 may make me wonder

Better mechanics leading to not missing easy 5-10 yard throws would have me feeling better regardless of the competition

The Joel Klatt take on the ticket today was that Arch was not good, but that the vanilla Sark offense, lacking the usual pre-snap motion, misdirection etc, that we ran did him no favors either. Patricia drew up an NFL-level defense full of extremely well-disguised coverages, and tOSU executed it to perfection.  That Texas wouldn't play a defense that tough again (under the assumption that even if they were to play tOSU again, everybody would know better what to expect), that Arch looked better as the game wore on, save for a few throws, and that he believes Arch will be okay.

I am more interested in seeing what the play calling looks like.  I'm tired of these conservative offensive game plans when we face good teams.  Imagine how good our defense would be if they could play a little more freely in those games.  PK is stuck trying to hold offenses to under 10 - 17 points and taking no risk as not to make mistakes.  When we play good team a 7 point lead feels like 50 points.

Have you seen the wr core when Sark had good teams? Look at what he has now. This might be his worst stable in 10 years. Look at what he had at Alabama and for the last couple of years.

Consistently execute pass plays correctly. That’s what I’m looking for.

“hard cope”. are you 15? whose mind frame works like this? arch manning played quite a bit last year and he not only never played half as poorly as he did in week 1 vs tOSU, but he also never showed that weird throwing motion that he had going on for the majority of the game. so, it’s week 1, and the presumptive heisman favorite has the worst game of his life despite a clean pocket all day, he’s making crap throws left and right, and his throwing motion is noticeably different and awkward, and you think that the only possibly reason that anyone would wonder if he might be dealing with an injury is “hard cope”. that’s fucking stupid, combative, juvenile bullshit.

Geezus Derka. Arch played a decent amount of snaps last year and all the things you saw against Ohio State were available for you last year as well. The throwing late. The inaccuracy. The throwing into double coverage. It was all there. Some of us were trying to tell you, but no, you went all in on the idea that Arch must've been on the bench due to some tinfoil hat loyalty to Ewers. When my own opinion was challenged I even put together some clips to point out those shortcomings which was met with vitriol and hatred, but now you are seeing what I saw. Arch will get better but he was not quite ready for the bigtime. I am sure he will go for 480 and 5 TDs this week and all will be good, but we need him to be better vs the OSU's and Georgia's of the world.

If you throw that ball in the snapshot taken then yes, a lot of bad can happen. Wingo was open right off the rub which is the read and it gives Wingo plenty of room to not get decapitated. It’s a bang-bang play that Arch needs to be quick with trigger on.

The ball to Sanders, are you talking about the one against Oklahoma?

That's not the read. The read is the one he chose. You have to give that a look as soon as you see your WR win against the leverage upon release. He wins to the outside with an outside breaking route. What Arch didn't count on is the shitty route running by Parker, who just rounded that route off, allowing Igbinosun to stay in his hip pocket. He needs to stem to create separation there and that's a TD. He must be emulating Wingo and his shitty route running.

Yes, him throwing touch passes well means it is not the yips. It was so bad I thought he might have gotten them on Friday.
