Orange & White Scrimmage was yesterday

Harmon hit a couple threes. Lee, Booker and Crump hit at least one three apiece

Read it was not “throw it to the big girl” offense but actual scoring at all 5 positions

Preston looks stronger and faster

I assume Oldacre sat this scrimmage out?

Someone asked on TOS and hasn't gotten a response yet.  I know it was just an intrasquad scrimmage but a box score would have been nice from Texas

Apparently played and didn’t look hobbled or restricted at all

At least we’ll get box scores from the two upcoming exhibitions. Looks like they won’t be televised, but there will be a radio broadcast. I miss LHN!

2 weeks from season start (Nov 3, UIW) 7pm on ESPN+

We are so fucking close to WBB season, I can taste it.

First real scrimmage is Thursday (Lubbock Christian) and then a week from today (Texas Women's)

Texas is going to have to hit the portal for a big, because Vukosa chose UConn (not a huge surprise, she's from NY, UConn is like 2.5 hours from where she grew up)

SEC coaches believe in Vic. And another vote for Booker as preseason SEC POY

Texas picked to win the conference by a vote of the league’s head coaches.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Texas women's basketball is predicted to win the 2026 Southeastern Conference women's basketball championship in a vote of the league's head coaches the SEC announced today.

Texas tops the order of finish, with South Carolina, LSU, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt rounding out the top half the league.

Meh. It was mostly Crump (1-7) and Lee (2-5) that took up half the attempts. Booker was 0-3

Texas gets the 2nd to last visit for 2026 #10 Addison Bjorn (Missouri) - she will be in town this weekend (I think along with #8 Bri Crittendon from Colorado)

Bjorn's finalists are: ND, Duke, Iowa, Texas, UConn, UNC, Kansas (goes there the weekend after her visit to Texas)

Oldacre fell and rolled her ankle - went back to locker room for eval, did not return in the game

Preston had her hand wrapped on the bench and did not play, but it apparently didn't look serious by the way she was celebrating.

Texas actually started a 4 guard lineup with Harmon, Lee, Crump, Booker, Cunningham.  Crump replaced Carlton as a starter for this game.

Madi Booker named the #4 player for the upcoming season

https://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/46751366/ranking-top-25-womens-college-basketball-players-preseason-2025-2026

Other players of note that we will see: #2 Lauren Betts (UCLA), #5 Flau'Jae Johnson (LSU), #7 Ta'Niya Latson (South Carolina), #9 Mikayla Blakes (Vanderbilt), #11 Joyce Edwards (South Carolina), #12 Mikaylah Williams (LSU), #13 Reagan Beers (OU), #17 Kiki Rice (UCLA), #19 MiLaysia Fulwiley (LSU), #21 Talaysia Cooper (Tennessee), #23 Cotie McMahon (Ole Miss), #24 Tobey Fournier (Duke)

4. Madison Booker, Texas

Forward | 6-1 | Junior

2024-25 stats: 16.3 PPG. 6.6 RPG, 1.6 SPG

As a sophomore, Booker helped the Longhorns win a share of the SEC regular-season title in their first year in the league and reach the Final Four for the first time since 2003. She shot 46.4% from the field and 40.3% from 3-point range, to go with 2.7 assists. She followed that strong season by playing for Team USA in the AmeriCup. Booker has scored 1,231 points, the fourth most of any Texas player through two seasons. A repeat of that for her last two years in college will get Booker close to the school career record of 1980s Longhorn legend Annette Smith-Knight (2,523). -- Andrews

I agree that UConn and USCe are locks for the final 4, but I’m surprised to see UCLA there as a unanimous final 4 pick. They’ll no doubt run through the B1G since Juju is out for the season, but come tournament time, I would like Texas’ chances making a further run. Lauren Betts now has her little (6’4”) sister on the team so they’ll be fun to watch if you like bigs, but I think Texas has a more balanced lineup to make a deeper run. I guess we’ll learn more on November 26th

I'm not ready to call South Carolina a lock, because their front court depth is a little thin due to Kitts' injury and Watkins taking the year off, but I know Dawn gets the benefit of the doubt because she's Dawn

Kitts was a monster last year, replacing her will be hard.

Yikes

I reffed a DI exhibition a few years back where the DII team brought their A game and was pressing the entire time. The DI team was like “WTF” when they were down 10 in the 1st half. The D1 team won, but barely.

That team ended up sucking ass during the season.

WBB had a chance to kill UConn for good during that stretch of them with no NCs. They are alive from the dead and back kicking, which sucks.

Weren't going to kill them until Geno retires.
