Another second amendment patriot successfully defends himself from....a brown person who knocked on the wrong door

Police confirmed the couple had accidentally arrived at 4283 Maize Lane in The Heritage development, which is adjacent to Windswept Farms.

“When they moved from Windswept Farms to The Heritage they thought they had left the violence and chaos of Biden’s open border policy behind. Then it knocked on their front door.
After the break, we’ll meet a retired police officer in the fight of his life, facing jail time for defending his own home.
We’ll be right back, with The Story.”

Very telling that the local cops need over a week to investigate before they will provide more info to the press. Sounds more like the DA needs to consult some legal and PR folks to tell him how best to announce there isn’t enough evidence to even arrest the homeowner much less prosecute.

i would guess the police are not investigating anything.

but in the homeowners defense, the deceased’s husband only appears to speak Spanish. Not that the homeowner knew that but in 47% of American homes, that is grounds for an execution of the person outside your door.

I’ve got a lot of guns, but I don’t even keep the ammo and the guns in the same building, for three reasons:

1) I don’t want to shoot anybody

2) I live in a really safe neighborhood, in a safe city, in a safe country, at one of the safest moments in history.

3) I live with a couple of goofy furballs who are also territorial alpha predators that have been genetically selected over 5000 years for noisemaking and protective behavior.

I don’t understand anyone who would be paranoid enough to keep a gun in the home for “home defense” and wouldn’t also have dogs as a first line of defense.

The DA may not have much to work with- I’m not a lawyer and I don’t know about Indiana, but I’ve talked to cops and prosecutors here about this and even many of them think that front porch laws in Texas can create a way for homeowners to literally get away with what would normally be murder or manslaughter.

I can see that. We all know that anyone only needs to claim that they're in fear of their lives. Gives them cover to do whatever they want. A cop built like a middle linebacker can claim that he was in fear of the 80 year old, 125 lb black man who walks with a cane. Whatever happens next is legal, and the cop can wink at the investigative detective when questioned.

In seriousness, the concept is somewhat related to a reasonability test. Would a reasonable person be in fear or need to protect their home from someone on their porch before 7am? From a quick search, it could still have been dark in Indiana at that time, so 6:30 is only slightly lighter than 2am. That gives the homeowner more cover than someone knocking on his door at 1pm. (It's not clear when the shooting exactly occurred. Cops say they found the body just before 7am.)

But if said middle linebacker cop steps to the 80 year old black man with a cane, black man can't do shit.

the middle linebacker cop is doing his job. the old man should be aware of that fact and comply by taking the beating.

Here's a recent example of this. A citizen was following an ICE agent, who in turn drew a gun on the citizen, who was not committing a crime. The ICE agent faced zero repercussions for illegally drawing his weapon. We have 2 sides to the law when it comes to cops.

FYI, the police have said that the homeowner is not a retired cop.

"No officer ‒ whether currently serving, retired, resigned, terminated, or otherwise affiliated with the Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department or any other police department ‒ resides at or has any personal connection to the location of the incident," Rolston said in a news release. "These inaccurate claims pose a serious safety risk to uninvolved officers and their families and must cease immediately."

If you want to rob me, all you have to do is give Sebastian a good butt scratch and he'll tell you where all of the good stuff is

I actually don't think most cops, current or retired, would look to fire a gun through a front door because someone knocked on their door early in the morning. If anything, they may not want to ruin their front door.

More likely it's someone who in Indiana who watches Fox News or Newsmax 24/7 focusing on the invading hordes from the south.
