  1. Here's The Athletic's guess at the 26-man WC roster as of today. They didn't do a starting lineup or put them in order. GK: Turner, Steffen, Schulte DF: Dest, Jedi, Richards, Ream, McKenzie, Freeman, Scally, Zimmerman MF: Adams, McKennie, Musah, Tillman, Cardoso, Berhalter, LDLT, Tessman FW: Puli, Weah, Balogun, Wright, Luna, Pepi, Sargent Not a ton to argue with. GK suuuuuucks. No depth at FB and no 2nd CB you feel good about. I think LDLT is a waste of space, but it's not like he'll be playing a lot so whatever.
  2. I think that's a drawback of the Roto format. If you're down it's hard to mount a comeback and it feels hopeless. Maybe next year we could experiment with doing a 2nd half winner to keep people more interested. As for trades, I wouldn't mind a pitcher but I'm also chasing OPS just like you. You'd have to give up a fortune to get someone like Greene from me. Have you tried $50 Donation/@UTHornFan014? I heard that guy likes trading lol.
  3. Keep in mind that Boeing immediately pointed the finger at the pilots in the 737 MAX crashes. This might be something or it might be nothing.
  4. It’s hard to figure. If there were other forces at play, like hot Sark-to-NFL rumors or something, we would have heard about it by now. Best I can come up with is that every circumstance is different and we have run into some just plain bad luck. Tech decided that Ojo was a guy they absolutely had to have. Same with Florida and Guervil. Always seemed like our staff liked the two legacy WRs but maybe had them a tier below the best of last year’s class. We got in on Rouse a little late. And so on. This isn’t going how we as fans expected, or how the last couple cycles played out, or I’d wager how the coaches planned. But if we have lots of dry powder it ought to be an entertaining fall.
  5. Well I didn’t want my rep whoring to be TOO obvious.
  6. Early July straw poll Over/under final class rank: 5.5 Pos rep this post if you think under (i.e., top 5 class). Neg if you think over (i.e., 6th or worse). Can’t rep my own post but for the record I’ll take the under.
  7. On a rational level, you're probably right. The Brocks looked at a program in disarray and made a defensible business decision. But on an emotional level, I've always felt like the anger directed toward them was exactly because they chose to kick us when we were really, really down. Really down. And they did it with a smile on their face. Every single person here knows that we'll survive without Jalen Lott. It did not feel that way at the time with the Brocks. In summary: fuck them.
  8. He does photoshops for free so recruits tell him a lot of stuff. Really seems like AI will/should put him out of business in pretty short order, though.
  9. Yeah Martin loaded them up then they brought in Milner. He threw ball 4 on a full count. Walking off the field like a chump after you walk in the winning run has got to be one more humiliating feelings in sports, as it should be.
  10. Seems like Fong has been consistently bullish on Texas this cycle.
  11. Trump and Infantino/FIFA were absolutely made for each other.
  12. lol wtf is a 96 mph changeup
  13. Yeah as I was typing it out I was thinking to myself, "you know, this ain't half bad". The emergence of Tillman is a big positive. I'm a big Pepi fan as well. Having a choice between who is most in-form between him, Balo, Sargent, and Wright is a far cry from where we used to be at FW. I kind of like Downs as well and could see him developing this year into a guy that can give you a good spark off the bench next summer. Biggest issues IMO are finding a #1 GK, someone to pair with Richards at CB, and depth behind our top two FBs. MF is probably where we're best and deepest, but getting the right combination of guys on the field in the right formation will be key.
  14. So any post-tournament predictions on what the starting 11 looks like next summer if everyone is healthy? ----------Balogun------ ----Puli---Tillman---Weah---- -----Adams---McKennie----- Jedi--Richards--Ream--Dest -----------Schulte----------- Not sure on Ream, but Pochettino seems to trust him and the rest of the options are nothing special. Schulte is a wild guess.
  15. I can't fucking believe that some people need to be reminded of this, but 27+ dead CHILDREN didn't vote -- or not vote -- for a god damned thing.
  16. Agree with everything here except Aaronson. I'm not convinced that either Aaronson is good at anything other than running around a lot with minimal impact.
  17. What’s with the audio? Every contact sounds like a 500 ft home run? Did ESPN put mics in the catchers’ mitts?
  18. On the squad next year: Adams, Tillman, Luna, Richards I’m intrigued: Berhalter, McGlynn, Downs, Freese I could see it just because we don’t have anyone else: Ream, Agyemang GTFO: LDLT, Aaronsons, Turner, Arfsten, Freeman
  19. Obviously he’s on the squad and 99.9% starting, but I thought Adams had a pretty bad game and tournament.
  20. Pretty hard to say Mexico didn’t earn this. We never really threatened their goal much at all.
  21. Get ready for 10 minutes of Mexican dudes sitting on the ground
