  1. The School Resource Officer called me last night. Turns out we have the same middle and last name, His first name is James, mine is legally Jamie, but I go by James.....
  2. Turned out to be kinda trivial, but wasn't in the moment. Y'all know I sell music instruments and stuff to schools. I typically go to anywhere from 10-15 schools on any given day. Today I had a meeting with the orchestra directors from a middle school I'm going to be picking up business with. They ran my ID (usually this takes about a minute and they print off a badge for me and I go down to the band/orchestra room). Instead, I got spend 15 minutes in a conference room with two police officers. Turns out there is a certain person living in this district who A)Is definitely not me, but looks close enough on the DL. and B) Is definitely not allowed within 500 feet of a school
  3. Did the Tilted Kilt eve actually open? I know the sign went up, but I don't think it actually opened. Food and beer is fine at Twin Peaks, but their mixed drinks are very watered down. There is a Knockouts on 75 and Spring Creek. Its okay. Service is really hit or miss though, depending on who the bartender is
  4. On a side note, one of the best investments I've made is buying a deep freezer and a vacuum sealer. When I see something like chicken or ground beef go on sale, I'm buying like 50 lbs of it and freezing them in two pound bags Seems like I see pork shoulder and chuck roast go on sale about once every 6 weeks or so. Also, the discount bin at Tom Thumb and Kroger in the meat department. I won't buy fish, chicken, or ground beef. But I've picked up a few rib eyes and flank steaks for like half price. You just need to eat them that day or freeze them as soon as you get home.
  5. We decided yesterday (before seeing this thread) to go the rest of the month with no fast food and no eating out. Partly for the money, but also because we're both and an age where we really need to lose some weight and exercise more often. One caveat is that we will spend more on groceries to get what we really want to eat.
  6. This! Chicken wings were great when they were a value option. With the price they go for now, you can get better bar type food for the same price. Also, not real surprised by this announcement. At least in North Dallas, if you want scantly clad women, there are better places. If you want want a sports bar with better food but not there girls there are tons of better options. I think the attraction that hooters had when I was in my 20s was that it was much harder to find the combination of sports bar with lots of TVs, good food, good looking women and food service. Wish they had one closer to Allen/McKinney
  7. Yeah, about the spiciest thing I can use without any side affects is the original franks hots sauce. I used to drown my food in some sort of hot sauce, but about 10 years ago I was under a shit ton of stress from work and personal life. Woke up in the middle of the night for about a week straight vomiting up excess stomach acid. What really sucks is occasionally something really random will set it off.
  8. You have no idea how much it sucks. I've pretty much had to cut out buffalo wings, really spicy mexican or indian food. Even real bloody mary's with tobasco can fuck my stomach up. Even with the prescription for heart burn from my doc, I can expect to be in heartburn hell for 4-6 hours. I'll sacrifice for crawfish and when the Hispanic family a couple of houses down has a quinceanera/birthday party/graduation/death in the family.
  9. Some trash nachos for dinner. Needed more cheese. And I can't do jalapenos much anymore so pepperchinis instead
  10. Did I make it in on page 1? I'll go 92- 70
  11. Anyone got a projected line up yet? I changed jobs and have been out of my normal baseball groove for awhile and barely read anything from spring training.
  12. I don't suppose anyone has heard about hulu yet? Gonna be pretty pissed if I pay the $100 for Victory + then they add it to hulu like a week later
  13. Used to love Rosa's (and Taco Cabana), but last couple of times I went just was very bland. Kinda seems like what happens when a chain place starts opening up a lot of places.
  14. Just sent my money
  15. I would be in for $15 or 10
  16. I like it, but I probably haven't eaten there in 3-4 years since it's not close to us anymore
  17. In and @Moderator Can we get this pinned?
  18. Yeah, my 5 and 11 year old kids don't know the difference between dominoes/papa johns/ pizza hut ect. I'm not buying Campisi's or Cane Russo for them.
  19. That was my first thought. That and parts of southern Louisiana that I've been too
  20. I've been wondering about stuff like Lockheed, and other, losing sales. Doesn't our Military Industrial Complex spend like a gazillion dollars lobbying efforts? And aren't a bunch of their factories in "Red" States?
  21. Is that a commuter train going straight through an oil refinery?
