  1. Attaching a beam to a post? In the process of adding a pergola to our backyard, is it better to sit the beams on top of the post or, considering the weight on top won’t be very much, is it okay to use carriage bolts to connect the 2x6 to the 6x6 post?
  2. So next years appraisal will go up 150% instead of the usual 50%?
  3. I felt it didn’t have enough of the Indy theme and whip action. It was good enough to not be the worst of the series.
  4. Changed the blower motor in my truck the other day. Tiny bit of satisfaction and a congratulatory beer felt nice.
  5. The magnet on the solenoid was stuck and not opening by itself. A neighbor came by and popped it open with a flathead screwdriver, said he’d had the same issue with his system. 6. Money for everyone but those that need it.
  7. Any sprinkler system experts in here?I had to shut off the water at the back flow connection to repair a cracked section of PVC pipe. Turned the water back on, tried the system and nothing. I’ve tried every zone and can’t get any of them to turn on. The panel in the garage has power, tried to reset it and still nothing. Any ideas?
  8. The wife said “you should go buy a new tv for Father’s Day” and I’m not sure what to do.
  9. Love the kid no matter what. You’ll make mistakes and just know that there are no perfect parents and it will be okay. Don’t let other people tell you how to raise your child.
  10. In May of 2018 my legs started hurting. It was a dull aching pain that felt like they were just sore (I had played basketball several times that week) but the pain kept getting worse and worse. A few days later I was in a meeting and my hands, arms, and legs felt like they were on fire. I had no strength in my hands or extremities. I was sitting in a meeting and tried to pick up s pencil and couldn’t grip it. My boss sent me home and I had to loop my arm through the steering wheel and pull myself into my truck. I vividly remember getting home and an Amazon package being delivered. I went to open the door and couldn’t even turn the door knob (we had childproof locks on them). My wife came home and I was curled up in the fetal position on the floor. She drove me to the doctor, he did all kinds of tests and I was diagnosed with polymyositis. My arms and legs ache for the most part nonstop and I’ll occasionally get a tingling/burning sensation in my hands and feet. I take medicine for it has stayed under control for the most part. I’ve never felt the pain I did in 2018 and still don’t have any idea what brought it on or caused it.
  11. My grandpa saw me walking around with the book and when he saw who the author was he snatched it out of my hands thinking it was a Bond novel.
  12. The burgers are smaller and don’t have the same taste as before. Fries and drinks are still the same.
  13. Learned how to play craps there about 20 years ago at a $2 table. It was slow and the dealer gave me a lot of tips and advice. Thought I was Billy Badass and blew everything I had at Caesar’s later that night.
  14. My wife is a nurse. I learned a long time ago not to say shit about any ailments.
  15. It’s actually gotten worse and looks to continue that way.
  16. TRS is the one thing that has kept me from getting out, it’s not a bad retirement plan.
  17. This may be the wrong place to ask this question, but I’m seriously considering a career change. This is my 16th year of being a public school teacher and it has gotten harder and harder to stay in each year. My salary will never be much more than it is now and when we do get a raise it’s generally offset by a rise in our insurance premiums. Reading through this thread it doesn’t seem like now is a very good time to start looking anyway but, if I were, are people even hiring former educators that may not have experience in that field but bring other useful skills to the table?
  18. Go to “home” and the first row is titled “top picks for you” and you can see the multi view. The other way is to select the game from the guide and, if available, it will give you the option to watch live or the multi view. So far it’s only worked with 2 games at a time.
  19. Just got an email saying it’s going up to 72.99.
  20. Diamonds Are Forever is a guilty pleasure of mine. It’s so ridiculous but I can’t help but love it. Connery in the short pink tie is so unlike anything Bond would ever wear but I watch it anytime I come across it.
  21. Love that version of “In the Meantime” by Spacehog!
  22. You can save it. But yes, I have to go back and reset it. I’ve found some other YouTube videos for other n64 games that make it easier to play them. I’ll save them as “goldeneye” or whatever and just select it. It’s a pain but it’s more enjoyable for me to play.
