Harlem Globetrotters' Fred 'Curly' Neal has died (lived near Houston)

Same here. I saw the Globetrotters as a kid during their heyday of the late 70's. There were awesome to watch as a kid and Curly was a big part of that. He and Meadowlark Lemon were the Globetrotters.  RIP and thanks for the memories.

The hey day of the trotters, Curly, and Meadowlark.  They even had a Saturday cartoon.  Got to see them 3 or 4 x as a kid.

Jimmy started the game against UH in Las Cruces. Good guy. I think he should be about 70 now.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Curly’s predecessor on the Globetrotters, Marques Haynes, many years ago.  He died a few years back.  To say that members of the Globetrotters lived remarkably interesting lives would be an understatement.

Got Curly's autograph in Corpus years ago when I was like 8.  Most of the players came out and ambled around in street clothes before the game, down under a basket.   So cool.  RIP Court Jester.
