  1. Doubtful. I don't recall ever seeing people flying Bush flags, or wearing Bush hats and clothes everywhere. Trump is heading up a cult of personality. Its unlike Bush or anyone else. It isn't easily replaceable.
  2. Actually, he won't. Twitter will ban him for violating their terms of use. The only reason he gets to stay on Twitter now is because he is an elected official. Not sure how he will reach his audience on a regular basis. OAN maybe.
  3. "About" fourteen guns, huh? They should know better. If you are gonna steal evidence, you steal it first, and then give the exact number that's left.
  4. He'll get charged. The trespasser/flag thief did not enter or attempt to enter his dwelling. I don't think OK's make my day laws will protect him. His use of deadly force was not reasonable under the circumstances.
  5. McConnell has been sliding it into the KY electorate with no KY for years.
  6. It needs perspective though. Are they dissatisfied because of Trump's handling of covid or because they can't go to the grocery store without a mask? Are they dissatisfied because police brutality has finally gone too far or because they think Trump should start shooting protestors?
  7. Yep. That means its a great time to ditch the extra unemployment money and to allow for widespread evictions.
  8. Actually, these are intended consequences. They voted to Brexit specifically in order to prevent EU citizens from residing or working in the UK without a visa. Given that, surely they didn't expect that UK citizens would be allowed to continue to reside and work in the EU without a visa. These learned scholars of international relations must understand the meaning of reciprocity. Just kidding. "We didn't mean we wanted to ban all French people. Just the brown ones. Please let us continue to bring our fatasses to your Mediterranean town where we will refuse to even learn a lick of the local language and act put upon when the local baker doesn't speak English. Oh, but we love the bakeries and the culture." Of course they expected to continue doing whatever the fuck they wanted to in Europe while also telling EU citizens to pound sand. They may be the only people more narcissistic than Americans when it comes to their place in the world. "No you may not visit my country, but you should see it as an honor that I visit yours." Just kidding on that too. We are the worst.
  9. Fuckin A, we are falling fast. Now "neighbors say he was a good nazi" is a thing.
  10. Yeah, meth labs are a standard feature in all Oklahoma homes. You can't even get listed on Zillow without one.
  11. Manhattan, huh? The same place the USA's leader abandoned both literally and figuratively? If NY was on its own to fight covid as the President publicly stated, why should it continue to have monuments to failed nation states of which it was/is supposedly part of? Also, I don't see why a Florida resident has anything to say about Manhattan.
  12. Why would Alito or Thomas retire? They are guaranteed to take the rightest wing stance possible and are a known commodity. Any replacement justice would almost certainly end up being to the left of them. Why risk appointing an actual strict constitutionalist when you already have 2 flexible conservative justices ready to bend to your will?
  13. Its actually a failure of people on social media as well. I know a few normally prolific "always happy times" social media posters who were hospitalized for covid while their significant other continued to post photos of lunch.
  14. Why don't you go see what Frederick Douglass had to say about it?
  15. And they should. A proper monument to emancipation would have the freed slave standing tall next to Lincoln as his equal. Not kneeling before him as a savior. Donating to something before its designed does not mean one approves of the final design. None of the donors had any say at all in the actual monument. I am sure you would also like some artistic control over the donations you sent Trump as well. Maybe you should get your five bucks back too.
  16. Mother Earth liked the return of clean air with the beginning of the current one. She is going to keep them coming.
  17. Export implies a sale. We get jackshit ROI on that spending.
  18. The Trader Joe's Karens. Would. Craziness like that doesn't grow on trees. At their houses. Couldn't have them knowing where I live.
  19. We still have California v. Texas, otherwise known as the GOP v. Americans, in the pipeline.
  20. Fuck it. I'll take his spot for the league minimum. I can hit 70 mph when the weather is right. Seems like the risk will be far greater when they are traveling between cities. So they are going to be on the same plane all the time, but are concerned about proximity in open air stadiums? That seems like a move designed to get fans to follow the rules in their daily lives more than for player protection.
  21. The crazier thing is that we pay quite a lot in federal taxes, the federal government runs massive deficits, and we get fuck all to show for it. State and local governments which only get to tax the scraps have to handle everything. The least the GOP could have done was actually lower or eliminate federal taxes so the states can actually handle things since the GOP have been running on that fake platform for decades now. If you claim to want us to be almost independent states, then make that shit happen. Here I am having to cut a check to the feds at a time when my city and state need it, when my city and state have been cutting the feds a blank check for years already, and when the federal gov't has told my city and state we are on our own. Well, if we are on our own, then why the fuck are you still collecting taxes from us? People once dumped tea into the harbor for less. I did see where Trump promised to have the US Treasury Trump personal slush fund bail out Texas. I also recall he said the exact opposite to New York. Time to break this thing up already. Even if Biden wins. Its over.
  22. I see Dixon's point. In my experience, ethical plaintiff attorneys have been pretty liberal. Unethical plaintiff attorneys have leaned "conservative." I put conservative in quotes because the definition of the word has been strained lately. They vote GOP because they want no regulatory environment, don't want to pay taxes, and really don't give a shit at all about people. Personal injury attorneys often skirt ethical rules, and this is something you don't often see from other plaintiff attorneys. Employment or civil rights attorneys, for example. Obviously, this is painted with a broad brush. There are ethical and unethical attorneys of all types, but things do lean this way. Also, that has been the GOP's modern issue in a nutshell. They have no ethics or moral code and attract those that have no ethics. "Law and order" is only for poor people.
  23. This would be fine if the Presidency wasn't also set up to grant the minority power. If the majority always won the Presidency, the minority controlled Senate could check it, and in times where they aligned, they could also implement Trump level shitshows because the people would have actually voted for a Trump level shitshow by a wide majority in that case. As it is, 35 to 40% of voters are able to give us authoritarian government. This is the exact opposite of the founders' intent. They hoped that tyranny, if it ever came, could only come from a supermajority. Alternatively, keep the EC, and flip the powers of the Senate and House.
