I truly thought Sarkisian expected it to work on first down and was stunned that it did not. He was then too stunned/stubborn to change the personnel grouping. By third down, we should have pulled the big men.
  2. If we don’t lose again. But we always do.
  3. They nearly always stumble, too. But they have a mulligan we don’t have.
  4. I am well aware. Are you saying we won’t choke? Everyone is coming for us. It’s why losing OU ends our championship hopes. We’ll lose again. We always do. Except…checks notes…1996. Again: I’d love nothing more than to be wrong.
  5. I’m pissed because we won last year by attacking them from the start, we rolled them at the start two years again and then let up, and we just laid a turd this week. Mack Brown took over game strategy and motivation this weekend. I come here and the same posters who excuse that uninspired effort and tell us it’s all right to just approach this as any other game are also certain we’ll have a rematch for OU and we’ll win because “teams don’t beat other times twice.” I’ve even seen Sooners saying similar. That sounds great but doesn’t align with our reality in any way. You’ve been watching a different team than I have for the last 40 years. One reason this game is so important to win is that it effectively gives us a mulligan in case we stumble. Newsflash: we always stumble. There is not a single thing that would lead me to believe Steve Sarkisian has what it takes to correct that. I absolutely hope I am wrong, but hope has very little to do with football.
  6. On paper, sure. I’d love to be wrong. History says I won’t be.

That was a mistake and I said so at the time. You play to win the game. We didn’t and we didn’t.
  8. I definitely saw opportunity to sneak in there. I also heard from people sitting around me that someone fell off the wall and landed on his head/back. He just popped up and down walked off. Alcohol.
  9. I entered through B, but came from the direction of A. It wasn’t bad at all once I got through the sea of humanity pressing toward A from Gameday. It was also about 10:15. The last few times, I’ve committed to making my way into the stadium an hour before kick since it’s impossible to know how long it will take to push through the people and get through the scanners. The number of people who don’t have their shit together is infuriating. The online coupon pickup window was enough to make me punch a baby. A bunch of supposed college graduates absolutely refuse to read directions.

But we also don’t play everyone this year so don’t have that opportunity to break a tie with them head to head.
  11. It was much better when they had the Gameday set out along the perimeter of the fairgrounds a few years back, but it’s never great. The primary downside of going to the game. Still the best game atmosphere anywhere.
  12. We were pressed up against the carnival games, moving right to left in your picture. The idiots had blocked the walkway to the extent that there wasn’t space for a single person to walk through between the fence in front of the games and the people watching the Gameday set. There was a whole line of people literally pushing through to get to the gate.
  13. No. It has in the past because we fail to take care of business after this game, just like we did in this game. The fault lies with Texas and no one else.
  14. You don’t understand the necessary mindset. You’re crying that I’m pointing out the truth. It’s ok. Not everyone played sports. Let the adults talk now.
  15. I met that guy at the Czech Stop after the game in 2018 (I think it was 18). If I recall correctly, his crew does all our home games and are from Austin and Longhorn fans. Maybe it was an odd year and they do Texas-OU when we’re the home team.
  16. Lots of caveats there. Losing to OU ends our chances of winning the conference, with the lone exception of 1996.
  17. No doubt. Just haven’t won many at all. Turtling against our rival makes it damned near impossible.
  18. I would have been posting about all the bullshit live on Saturday, but I couldn’t even get a text to go out for about 4.5 hours while at the stadium/Fair. 🤬
  19. Gameday’s setup also completely fucked the Midway before the game. A bunch of mouthbreathing fucktards were just standing there blocking thousands of people from being able to move toward the main entrance to the stadium.

And yet here we are. Not sure why people are declaring it’s no big deal, we’ll just win the rematch. This game was just blood in the water for the K-States of the world. We’re getting everyone’s best shot.
  21. I’m calling a spade a spade. If that offends your sensibilities, maybe you’re more of a Ketch guy.
  22. Just like we always have after losing to OU, huh?
  23. DART was utter shit. It’s a wonder people don’t get killed standing body to body for hours on end. One train sat in front of the Fair Park station loaded for about 20 minutes after the game. Obviously, not a single other train was moving passengers away to the north while it sat there. “Hey, come ride DART. We can’t adequately move that many passengers, but yea for public transit!”
