  1. Tucker is 185/188 inside of 40 yards for his career, and I’d venture a guess that there was a bad snap or blocked kick in there.
  2. Congratulations to all of you lucky bastards. Also, and I mean this in the nicest way possible, fuck all of you lucky bastards.
  3. I was in a cage.
  4. This goes for anywhere in public. Not just quiet areas. Fuck those people. Sometimes it’s entertaining. The self checkout at the grocery store was a little backed up the other day. Guy in front of me was on the phone. Big guy with a really deep voice. Anyone within 30 feet of him could hear every word he said. I only heard one side of the conversation he was having, but I’m pretty sure he was getting laid when he got home.

  6. One of the better stories I have ever heard. Barnstorming was a thing back then in the MLB offseason. The pros needed the money. A college pitcher squaring off against Lou Gehrig in his prime is crazy. Wish you had the ball.
  7. How do you know when you’re going to die? If you live to 100 you might need it.
  8. Well, it’s still a wonderful story if I remember it 20 years later.
  9. I was talking about the dinger your relative gave up to Lou Gehrig while pitching for UT. My memory is slowly fading, but my vague recollection is that I thought you had that ball. It’s been a while.
  10. Do you still have that baseball with the wonderful backstory that you told me about a long time ago?
  11. There is a threshold where I would sell something that had a lot of sentimental value to me, but I don’t think my parents have anything that would reach that threshold. When the time comes, my sister and I will go through their stuff, pick out a few things we both want, maybe set aside a few things for her kids, and then have an estate sale. If dad has a T206 Honus Wagner or a 52 Topps Mickey Mantle hidden in his closet, it will be up for auction pretty quickly.
  12. It’s just the classic narcissistic behavior that being the smartest guy in the room about one specific thing makes you the smartest guy in the room about everything. I’m not even going to make this political. Phil Mickelson would be one of the best guys in the world to take short game lessons from. When he opens his mouth about any subject other than golf he is a complete fucking moron.
  13. A lot of radical right winger’s kids despise them. Kelly Ann Conway is the first one that comes to mind. But I suspect that is not the case here.
  14. If they skate they get a tip. If they’re cute as well they get a better tip. If they just walk that shit out, no tip. It’s fast food. I’m not gonna tip for fast food because they designed their restaurant in a way that requires there employees to walk 15 feet to bring me my order.
  15. I’m shocked it took this long for a just the tip reference. Surly be slippin.
  16. And that does make sense to me.
  17. My lady is self employed with low overhead, and men’s haircut is the least expensive service she provides. I don’t know what she charges the women for dye jobs and all the other shit women do to their hair, but I assume it’s a lot more. She drives a pretty new Audii Q7. She’s not a college kid putting herself through school waiting tables. I tip her because that is the norm, but it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. I suppose it made more sense to me when I paid $10 for a haircut at a place with a couple of chairs, a barber pole out front, and Playboys on the table in the waiting area.
  18. He’ll be nearly impossible to trade even if someone actually wanted him and that contract. Salary matching would be extraordinarily difficult on a deal that both teams would agree to.
  19. We’ve been planning to leave for a few years now. Was supposed to happen last summer and a deal on a house fell through and we just decided to stay here for a little while longer. The last few months have us in full let’s get the fuck out of here as quickly as possible mode. That may be a few months, it might take a year to get the job stuff worked out, but we’re leaving.
  20. I’ve never understood the tip for a haircut. The lady who cuts my hair used to work at a place with 10 chairs. She now has her own stall at one of those places that has something like 50 stalls that they rent out to individual hairstylists. Probably 150 sq. ft. each. So not a lot of overhead. She charges $35 and it takes her about 30 minutes to do the job. That’s $70/hr and if you text her for an appointment her first availability is always at least a week out sometime 2 or 3. So not a lot of downtime for her.. I like her and she does a good job, and I tip her because of societal norms, but at this point she’s a successful small business owner doing pretty well for herself, not somebody making minimum wage or less. also, haven’t been to a Torchy’s in a long time. A good tortilla doesn’t automatically guarantee a good taco, but a bad tortilla can certainly fuck up what otherwise might be a good taco.
  21. I think there is an exception for helping out charities.
  22. Have they finished building the reeducation camps yet?
