  1. Just a product of the system. Medical professionals in the UK do make significantly less though while still being top tier academics and researchers*. *Initially anyway. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here- my impression is their institutional push for discovery isn't as strong due to a lower reward ceiling quelling motivation.
  2. Like most of these threads, you're the only one arguing my dude. I had to wait two months here in Texas to see my GI for a follow up on a surgery so I don't know if two months is acceptable or not to see a neurologist after several trips to the GP. I will say my friend's mom was in the ER before Thanksgiving having what they thought was a stroke but turns out she has a mass in her brain and her surgery is scheduled for next week. MD Anderson.
  3. My experience is different. My family's English. I was born there. We moved to the States when I was little but my extended family still live there and I still have an NHS number. We go back quite often, once every year or once every two years. I've been sick there before and needed to see a doctor, but even in the second most populous city in the UK the next available appt for a GP was four days out. My aunt had a hysterectomy before COVID. Her wait time was 18 months to be scheduled. My uncle had to wait 8 months for a root canal. But he's Royal Navy so I don't know if they have a separate service for them like our VA. My 29 yo BIL had a benign brain tumor. Got on the list to see a neuro and was seen within 2 months. Waited another 3 for surgery to have it removed but he died on the table. Private insurance isn't much better. My SIL had private but elected to go with NHS when it came time to deliver her first baby. Two of my cousins are doctors with a third in med school. One's a pediatrician and the other's I forget what. There's real frustration from their patients about their access to care. It's one of those things you have to live with though.
  4. I actually thought this was common knowledge. John Madden used to talk about the goal line extending around the world and it was ingrained in my 8 year old brain you could score even when diving out of bounds. And then the NFL changed it. But NCAA hasn't.
  5. If the ball has broken the goal line extended before or at the same time the foot grazes the pylon, then yes it's a TD.
  6. That's huge. I remember her saying that in different interviews. That single act of just caring about her as a person must have resonated with her at a level she'd been craving.
  7. Dinwiddie outplaying Klay through the first quarter of the season. I didn't see that coming.
  8. Sounds like a huge disconnect in generational mindset between Coach Skinner and Madi. Gotta coach the total person instead of just the athlete. Glad it worked out for her. Happy it was at Texas where it happened.
  9. Just watched the first half. It's great seeing how Grimes, PJ, Spence, and even Hardy are continuing to play their game and not completely defer to Luka. It helps Luka a lot if they can take the pressure off him. Maxi is done =/
  10. Seems like a lot of people are just finding out about the mighty texas fighting aggies.
  11. What a turn. Did he do something she's complicit in? Did he do something with consequences of which she can only avoid by fleeing? Did she do something he knew about and couldn't live with that knowledge?
  12. i tried all the way out to 78-35-5 but they were taken.
  13. Wasn't considering it, just seeing what was out there. I want 76-35-5 but it's taken.
  14. Most of it's ours though.
  15. doesn't fit
  16. I don't know what Kidd said to Grimes after that DNP coach's decision but Grimes has been a different player since then. All credit to Kidd there. Hopefully this is the last game we see players sit with this crazy virus.
  17. Thanks for the breakdown. I haven't looked at a replay yet but yeah if the WR and OL are run blocking that's either an RPO or a broken play.
  18. You're so sure I'm starting to doubt myself. I need to see a replay.
  19. The play he fumbled on? That wasn't an RPO.

Depends on the person obviously (is there something you absolutely want to see this time around etc) but if it were me for a long weekend I'd want to stay local. So the neighborhood would drive my decision.

Considered the Grosvenor? Marriott property. Bond street. Great places to wander and get lost. Never far from excellent random eating.
  22. I read a paper a number of years ago that analyzed the correlation between climate and suicide rates. Basically the nicer and more "perfect" the climate the lower the suicide rate. As you trend away from "perfect" toward both cold and hot the rates increase, but even in the hottest climates the rates didn't come close to the coldest climates. As I recall there weren't future studies planned.
  23. away away give them two tamales yay what does moana have to do with this?
