  1. SIAP https://abc13.com/roger-clemens-son-accusing-bar-bouncer-of-assault/5113225/ Debated a Roadhouse quote, but Come on Meat you aren’t going to hit me cause you’re thinking about it already.
  2. Yep. Similar deal. Hey it’s dark and we’ve all been drinking for hours, but no way this supply is going to last all night. Let’s fire up the truck and drive outside the city limits to get some more! For public safety and the greater good!
  3. OK “near-beer” 3.2 law ended Oct 1 last year. They have grocery store beer and wine, also starting the same day. CO had their 3.2 law rescinded, not sure if it’s in effect yet.
  4. It's a long flight, Elaine. I had to get on with my life.
  5. Whoops, typing slower than my brain was processing. You are correct. You can’t purchase from the Texas “storefronts” or whatever they’re called. No direct sales from a local representative of the automaker.
  6. Now, the ending is kind of an option. I use the swirl. I like the swirl. I'm comfortable with the swirl. I feel the swirl is a greatcapper. He uses the pinch, which I find a little presumptuous. Is it a clockwise swirl? I prefer clockwise, but it's not written in stone.
  7. Yep the falling deaths linked above, hot springs/suffocation/acid from Yellowstone, and a teen who died at Horseshoe on the Colorado all came to mind when I made my comment about social media and selfie-culture. “This will look awesome on my Insta feeeee whoaaaaaaaaAAAHH!” It was either the article about the gal falling at Horseshoe or a couple that died on some Fjord overlook in Norway that had a long paragraph about the additional ecological impact and damage these idiots are causing. I can’t find a link but some dumbass chaperone videoed himself knocking over million year old rock formations in Utah.
  8. It's like what Lenin said... you look for the person who will benefit, and, uhuh https://www.texastribune.org/2019/01/30/texas-speaker-dennis-bonnen-has-ties-beer-distributor-lobbyists/ https://www.opensecrets.org/lobby/indusclient.php?id=N02 If the money craft beer has generated over the last 2 decades in this state is just now making progress against regulatory headwinds, I wouldn’t start holding my breath that the capitol will make a change to Sunday sales that benefits only their drunk constituents. (Rosemary L jokes aside)
  9. This. Can’t buy a car on Sunday or a Tesla online from Tesla.com in this state. Can’t carry packaged and sealed beer off the premises of most of the breweries in this state. But, I’m sure the liquor distributors and store owner lobby will fight hard for the citizens and we’ll have liquor in grocery stores on Sundays by 2119ish.
  10. Better can art, but not as good as lots o juice, imo
  11. Shaka beats the Jayhawks and God is posting on the Surly politics forum. I’m going to go read through Revelations to see which chapter and verse is applicable here.
  12. Just the 2 of us, alright?! Hey I'll make some sandwiches, what what do you like? Tuna? Peanut butter?
  13. Tuesday, when I went home, I really wanted a deviled ham sandwhich. And i was just obsessing about it. And i was like 'man I'm gonna make on of those.' So Tonight I went out and I got like a dozen hams and I cooked them all. And i spent probably three hours...like three and half hours, makin' you know, the mayonaise and the onions and paprika and, you know, all the accoutrement. And then, by the time I was done I just really didn't feel like eating it....And I didnt have any bud light.
  14. ^ And that is how they get in situations like yesterday’s, and tax payers questioning the situation. Today they could have reviewed footage with internal investigations, union, and legal and released it. Instead they’re serving warrants to gain information for prosecuting criminals without easily captured video evidence. People question. A narrative develops and you have the union president saying he’s going to hold citizens, activists, and reporters accountable. ETA: the upside is for everyone. The lawyers, the tax payers, the city, and CYA for the department.
  15. The Laffer Curve. Anyone know what this says? ...It says that at this point on the revenue curve, you will get exactly the same amount of revenue as at this point. This is very controversial. Does anyone know what Vice President Bush called this in 1980? ...Anyone? ...Something-d-o-o economics... ..."Voodoo" economics.
  16. Not really what your looking for Knox. More for natural bodybuilding for the lifting bros, but can be cool to see where you are on the potential scale of chiseled Ronnie Coleman vs gelatinous tub of goo. http://scoobysworkshop.com/muscle-gain-calculator/
  17. You know people bag on the reddit formatting a lot, but that little nested comment feature is really useful. Hypothetically - If you’re reading about a local event on say, 5 HPD officers getting shot, and some guy has a 20 post sidebar about, I don’t know, how prohibition was a totally kickass time for this country and it worked and how we should spend tax dollars on Nancy Reagan holograms for every classroom, you can just click minimize that fucker and the whole sidebar conversation.
  18. Zero space wasted to unwanted and unnecessary celery and carrots. RalphieA+++++++.gif
  19. 10-30 a month?!? Sucks to be me. Being a swimmer is expensive, apparently. I’m paying $65 for Houston citywide YMCA. Swim 3-4 times a week, but hate their free weights so work out in the garage when I want to lift. Probably ~$1000 in sunk cost iron and barbels off Craigslist over the last few years.
  20. CSB-Sunday night kids are bathed and in bed early. Wife had a glass of wine I had a beer getting ready for some Netflix and chill. Her - “I’ve heard good things about this crime doc Abducted in Plain Sight” Me - Sure, sounds good. 2 mins in *welp, not going to get a chub off anything on the screen, but I can over come* 15 mins in *WTF, how many beers did I have tonight? I think I can still overcome* Her - “What the hell is wrong with these parents?!?” *Parental rage building* 25 mins in *Parental rage at max* Narrator - he did not get laid.
  21. One of my favorites from the last few years, but does anyone consider it a “best”? Heavy on the cheese, but great for a yearly watch just for the dialogue “Only assholes drink Mr. Pibb.” “Drink up.” “Boy, you'd think there were ten of me.” Don’t get me started on the geography of Texas or West Texas as depicted on film. Here’s a wonderful shot of Halle and Hugh dinging some golf balls outside of Midland.
