  1. Yup, about a foot of water at the north end of Caesar Chavez when I drove through. Traffic into downtown really beginning to back up (more than usual).
  2. So flood control lakes are currently doing their job?
  3. Just started building a collection of FLACs and rigging up a budget home set up. I always use Donald Fagen's Nightfly or Kamakiriad to test things out. Also trying out DTS Surround on 4 equally sized speakers. Thus far Pink Floyd: Wish You Were Here and Tears for Fears: Songs from the Big Chair have been the most satisfying when I had them on quadraphonic style. I'm coming from years of 128k MP3s and getting back to CD quality has been enjoyable. Extra instrument layers are noticeable, and especially the reverb I'm able to pick up more and seems "new." Crazy that with all this technological progress in the past 30 years we're struggling to get back to CD quality. I'll say that 320 kbp MP3 sounds quite good to me as well and not sure I could pick the difference between a well ripped 320 MP3 and FLAC. Kind of Blue is obviously a great one!
  4. Today is history! For such a serious movie, there are dozens of quotes that can be used like this that make me chuckle. Taking off work here in a couple hours to head to the Disch parking garage. Hook 'em!
  5. My 1978 Suzuki GS550E. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk
  6. That was the "You know what this is about? Dollar signs" postgame comment that I believe Mangenious got fined for.
  7. Love all the classic folks. In terms of the current generation, I've been following Robert Ellis (lives in Austin, tours globally) the past few years and have really enjoyed where he has been going. Most recently saw him doing a duet at Cactus Cafe. Just one condenser mic for two guitars + two vocals and was blown away by the intimacy that a low volume show provided. Fantastic with the full band (Houston guys) as well.
  8. That was one of the first of the modern "quirky documentaries" that I really enjoyed. Delve into an odd subculture, find colorful characters that audience laughs at, slowly reveal the human side (and usually some sad twist) that makes you identify with characters and some optimistic ending. I love the formula and the ones on gaming/larpring/wrestling/craftsmanship are usually quite good. Here's a pretty good fact-based history of the DK record.
  9. I think so. He's always talking about "grading out" the offensive line performance saying they did well except for a few plays when to any casual observer they can tell they got manhandled.
  10. That would be the sensible emotional payoff.
  11. Roadtrip, dysfunctional upbringing, redemption, and Ed Harris? I'm in. Wonder what is on those rolls of film.
  12. Always enjoyed this thread on the other site. Great to see it live one. Good work guys!
