  1. I think the defense can be better in 2026. Phillips, Littleton, and Jackson all exceeded expectations. I have little doubt that those three will be sophomores in the mold of Hill and Simmons. Smith doesn't have the pass rushing skills of Hill, but I think it's possible he could be an improvement in coverage. As long as we retain several DTs and they develop along a similar trajectory as Collins and Broughton, I think we'll be salty.
  2. Alright fine. Take the Indiana path. Maybe some year we have a stacked team that would beat Ohio State and our QB gets hurt and we drop a couple games. And because we played no one tough, we move to the back of the line of the 10-2 teams. Who knows? Disagree with that take.
  3. If it's "about making the fucking playoffs" then we made a mistake leaving the Big 12. And "no benefit win or lose" implies we wouldn't have benefited from beating Ohio State, which is an odd take.
  4. Any argument that says "don't schedule Ohio State" would also logically lead to "don't leave the Big 12 for the SEC." We would perpetually be a 10+ win team in the Big 12 with this coaching staff and NIL funding. But we left didn't we? It's not just about the path of least resistance to the playoffs. Some people like to actually have good games to go to. Or to have a standard to hold yourself to.
  5. We play Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, USC, etc. non-conference because we're Texas. We play those schools because we want to associate ourselves with the best because we believe we are one of the best. We don't schedule those schools because we believe a loss to them technically won't be held against us, and it's just a gentleman's exhibition where everyone gets a medal.
  6. The people complaining about the "not being punished for losing to Ohio State OOC" need to realize that we weren't punished. All season. After we lost, we were the highest ranked 1 loss team (ahead of Clemson). After we beat OU, we were the highest ranked 2 loss team. After we lost to Georgia, we were the highest ranked 3 loss team. That's what that means. "Hey we'll move you to the front of the line if you schedule the big boys." It doesn't mean "hey we'll rank you ahead of Ohio State and act like the game never happened." Kinda disappointed that we're as whiny as South Carolina and Bama were last year.
  7. In no season from 1900-2023 would a team who lost 3 games feel angry about not getting to play for a championship game. We were all rooting for the scenarios, but it didn't happen. We all realize this team can beat half the playoff teams, but the cards didn't go our way. It's dumb and excessive that 12 teams get to play for a championship anyway. A point illuminated by the fact that we might have both North Texas and JMU simultaneously in the playoff if Duke wins next weekend. Gotta let it go at some point.
  8. Them winning by multiple scores against a ranked team when they were already ahead of us isn't great. Might need both OU and Bama to lose instead of just one.
  9. With Utah and Miami (likely) winning, I think it really comes down to one of Oklahoma or Bama losing. They'll sneak us in as the 5th SEC team if one of those two loses. But with Miami and Utah winning, I really don't see a scenario where they put in 6 SEC teams ahead of both of them.
  10. His play on the 3rd and 1 stop was incredible. It's very pleasing to see the way PK shows up against Ohio State (twice), Georgia (once and a half), Oklahoma (3/4) and A&M (twice). Dude gets his guys ready for big games.
  11. The two tight end sets came back and I think I'm finally done with hoping this guy will change. Even if we come back and win with some miraculous plays, he's arrogant and stubborn and always will be.
  12. Seahawks have Colts, Rams, Panters, Niners. Bears still have Eagles, Packers, Packers, Lions. Eagles have Bears, Chargers, Bills. We just need one of those 3 teams to get to 6 losses. And win out of course.
  13. Seems like you're talking more about what makes the best trade of all time rather than the worst trade of all time. It doesn't require Luka to ever win anything for Mavs fans to be justified in saying this trade destroyed the franchise. Most people I know stopped watching the Mavs. The trade ended 24 straight years of loyal fan support. It's the worst trade of all time because it almost literally destroyed a franchise.
  14. Georgia has very few tackles for loss. This is the worst Georgia defensive line since Kirby has been there. You're still probably right.
  15. Nice. I can post in this thread again and maybe watch some games.
