  1. I don't think this Miami QB has ever watched football before. He has no understanding of what one does when scrambling, how the clock works, or really anything.
  2. I'm so thankful that Texas is good in the redzone. So frustrating to watch these offenses with no clue.
  3. I get the Demas ruling, but it seems like the elite schools rarely ever get hit with "athletic purpose" transfers. I know a dozen kids who transferred to Aledo purely for athletic reasons. Their parents openly post it on Facebook. Duncanville gets every elite kid from south Dallas. Allen gets more transfers than anyone. Yet when that Azle QB transferred to Weatherford (terrible program) or Demas goes to Tomball (not elite), it gets flagged. It seems counter-intuitive for coaches to vote this way.
  4. My main problem with college football projections (FPI and the like) is that they overvalue returning starters and undervalue elite QB's. A team that returns 10 starters with an elite QB is going to be better than a team that returns 19 starters but a terrible QB. If the last decade of Texas football has taught us anything, it taught us that. That's the thing the eye-test people and those who rank Texas in the top 15 understand: Ehlinger has taken a leap and teams with that kind of QB play typically win 9-12 games.
  5. I was responding to what I quoted. Regardless, I doubt anyone is concerned about Chaisson's lack of experience on the edge.
  6. LSU's inability to stop this play encourages me some. LSU plays so much man coverage, Ehlinger should have a field day on power and draws. This is the type of thing that killed Georgia in the Sugar Bowl.
  7. When they were seniors at Lamar, I thought Jamison looked like the more talented corner. This was before Cook committed to Texas, so it sounded like homerism, but I really think Jamison has more potential there. Cook was known to grab onto guys in 7 on 7 and camps and try to get a way with what would be obvious penalties in a real game. Not saying he won't be good, but Cook potentially playing as a backup isn't the shock to me that it is to some.
  8. I will say that LSU's defense is loaded (10 of the 11 projected starters are former top 100 composite recruits) and has the potential to be truly great. Can't really imagine a bigger early season test for the offense.
  9. The highlighted parts are the thing that bothers me most about the LSU fans posting on here. Chaisson career games played: 12 Chaisson career TFL and sacks: 5.5 and 3 BJ Foster career games played: 12 BJ Foster career TFL and sacks: 9 and 2.5 BJ Foster doesn't count as a returning starter and that is apparently an issue for Texas. K'Lavon Chaisson however, is the strength of LSU's defense, a future first round pick, and the best edge rusher in college football. So according to the LSU fans, returning experience matters when it matters, and it doesn't matter when it doesn't matter. Elite recruits lacking experience are going to improve LSU's defense, but they're going to hold back Texas's defense.
  10. If Texas lands Johnston, Jordan, Eaton, Collins, LVB and Josh White, the composite score (287.17) would be pretty close to last year's (287.69).
  11. I enjoyed the part of the broadcast where they thought they were on a commercial break but were actually still on air, and the dude complained about a text he got of someone saying he sucked on the broadcast.
  12. I get all of that but Delton has 5 career TD passes and he's leading the pack. It's not ideal.
  13. I don't know who's going to win the game. It's part of why I don't spend my time posting on LSU message boards and shitting on their team. I think the talent is close and I expect a good game. As does pretty much everyone here. You didn't come here to make that point though, as evidenced by the K State post. Piss off.
  14. 3.3 ypc for Tua was. Tua ran for 16.3 ypc and a TD against LSU last year. You probably weren't watching because you were recovering from binge drinking after A&M's loss to Auburn.
  15. Feleipe Franks 7.0 ypc. Fitzgerald 5.7 ypc (153 yards) Tua 16.3 ypc Mond was the one guy you mentioned who actually didn't have a great running game against LSU. You're making up numbers. And it's once again becoming apparent you're an A&M fan pretending to be an LSU fan.
  16. Two things stand out in Pouncey's highlights 1. His legs are so skinny you can barely see them on the film. 2. Winter Park High School has one of the most annoying fans/parents I've ever heard.
  17. Conner, Broughton, Princely, Alford, Eaton is a pretty nice way to ruin their summer.
  18. If they're going to wear throwbacks, why not actually where the helmet that matches the pants? I hate Notre Dame's gaudy, overly shiny helmet they started wearing a few years ago.
  19. Okay now you totally outted yourself.
  20. Is that a 247 thing? I feel like Rivals used to have a lot of 2 stars. I remember Blake Gideon being a 2 star.
  21. The thing that shocks me about this is how many 3 stars UNT has there? How could that many 3 stars settle on UNT that early in the process?
  22. And if that doesn't work he'll send men to kill your pets and fuck your wives and it will never be over so that's the message. Good well let's move ahead with that process shall we? Fucking loved that response.
  23. I'm not entirely sure how Texas' record from 2007 impacted how Lamar Houston, Sergio Kindle, Aaron Williams, and Keenan Robinson played in 2009. Considering none of them played then. It's a dumb argument. And Earl was a sophomore. Aaron Williams was a sophomore. Keenan Robinson was a sophomore. Emmanuel Acho was a sophomore. You're arguing like someone who looks at returning starters, knows nothing about the actual players, but expresses your take as exact science. Klavon Chaisson has played in fewer career games than Sterns or Bj Foster. But I guarantee you aren't worried about him or considering him a negative to your defense. It's disengenuous rhetoric.
  24. 6 is not 8. That's true. It's also true that losing a 5th and 7th round NFL draft pick is not the same as losing a 1st, 3rd and 4th. Hell in 2018 Texas lost Malik Jefferson, Deshaun Elliott and Hilton Hill. Far superior talent to what we lose in 2019. And Texas was able to replace them and win 3 more games. Teams replace talent. Teams with elite recruits replace talent more easily than those without them. I think you know this but you've chosen to make this ridiculous argument anyway.
  25. After 2008, Texas lost 6 starters on defense. Brian Orakpo (1st round pick), Roy Miller (3rd round pick), Henry Melton (4th round pick), Rashard Bobino, Ryan Palmer (3 INT's) and Jared Norton (injury). Yet the 2009 team held opponents to nearly 100 fewer yards per game. Texas went on to an undefeated regular season and a spot in the championship game for two reasons: They brought back an amazing college QB and the "inexperienced" underclassmen on defense actually better than the guys who left. Texas fans are confident for those same two reasons: For the first time since 2009 they have one of the best QBs in the nation returning and the "inexperienced" underclassmen are at that 2009 level of talent. I have no doubt you expect your 2019 running back position to be better than 2018 even though you lost your best running back. It's college football. Don't be so obtuse. This is how it works.
