  1. Ups and downs, strikes and gutters, but trending in the right direction.
  2. ESPN does this every offseason as a cheap way to generate outrage clicks. A take this bad is on purpose. Every fanbase where Baker is undeservedly ahead of their fan favorite has a shitload of fans that will click on this article.
  3. If you run into an idoit in the morning, you ran into an idoit. If you run into idoits all day, check your posting history.
  4. We use 5-gallon water cooler jugs with a manual pump. They sell 4 gallon versions at Sam's with recyclable bottles. I also like these jugs. They are puncture resistant and stackable. You may have to file the plastic split-line from the two halves of the mold down, but then they can be stacked on their side. https://www.amazon.com/Reliance-Rhino-Pak-Heavy-Container-Medium/dp/B00336SBUE
  5. I am. Things are going a bit better, especially considering circumstances. Good to see you too judge, hope you're successfully defrosting.
  6. They also make great portable hanging lanterns. Loop the strap around something like the base of a ceiling fan blade and then loop the lamp back through the strap and hang it down. Add a pack of S-hooks and you can hang them a lot of places.
  7. Ump has been really awful and inconsistent. These were in Greinke's favor earlier.
  8. Bolsonaro is a fascist. He wants to open new areas to mining. Getting rid of any indigenous population is central to this. Miners have been throwing the natives off their land by force and taking the villages over, but this is bringing international condemnation down on Bolsonaro's government. Burning huge swathes of the rain forest is a good way to force them to move, while making it appear it's out of his hands. Whoever mentioned up thread about this being good for rejuvenation is very wrong. Fire is one of the worst things that can happen to a rainforest. Rainforest soils are notoriously thin and nutrient poor. Organic material that dies is almost immediately taken back up by vegetation and little remains in the soil. Slash and burn agriculture is incredibly destructive, because when heavy rains come, they wash the exposed soils away, removing whatever nutrients there are. That's why the farmers are always looking to expand into pristine rain forest. The areas that they have already burned are rendered completely worthless very quickly. Fires on this scale will render large sections of the rainforest sterile for the foreseeable future.
  9. I mentioned upthread that I use Papa & Barkley, because I know it's properly sourced and tested. It's also full spectrum, so you get some of the terpenes as well, which probably makes it more effective than CBD alone. They are doing a 4th of July BOGO at 50% off sale this weekend. Brat, if you and Mrs. Brat are going to take it for aches and pains, the creams will do work great for you. Very little, if any, of it will reach your bloodstream. CBD reduces inflammation and is very effective for muscular aches and pains. It also works pretty well for nerve pain. You'll only absorb somewhere between 15-40% of the CBD in the oils and will pass the rest. You'll get close to 100% absorption from the cream. I use both oil and cream. This is the one I bu to use in Texas. It's a small container FYI, but it's very effective and they ship it pretty quickly in a discrete package. It smells nice too, not much of a weed smell. They offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. https://www.papaandbarkleyessentials.com/product/hemp-balm That's an exceptional price and it's US grown, which is essential. Keep us posted on how well it works. If you're going to make your own cream, you might try mixing in some stuff to make it penetrate better.
  10. That play was unreal. I turned to one of my friends after it and said "we're never losing a game again with VY at quarterback.
  11. tl:dr CBD worked for me and the dog, almost miraculously for the dog. https://papaandbarkley.com is who I use. In California, they sell CBD with some THC in it. They ship CBD only (no THC) from Colorado. Do the drops, not the capsules. CBD uptake is much higher if you hold it under your tongue. It doesn't absorb well through the stomach and wastes most of it. Be careful where you buy from, hemp takes pollutants from the soil if they are there. As BearSchlong mentioned upthread, I was giving CBD to my 15 year old dog for seizures and pain. He had a pancreatic tumor that burned up his blood sugar as soon as he finished eating and his blood sugar was chronically low. That caused seizures which made everything much worse. Ever try to raise the blood sugar of a dog that is seizing from low blood sugar? Not fun. One day last November, he started having a severe seizure that we couldn't get back under control. I thought he was going to continue seizing until he died and if I'd been in Texas at the time, I probably couldn't have done anything about it. I was fortunately in California, so I raced to the closest dispensary and got CBD oil in a 30:1 CBD:THC ratio. As an aside, anything with more THC can be very bad, dogs don't process it well. I squeezed a little over 1/2 a dropper onto his gums, probably ~20-25mg CBD. I smeared some honey on them too and he snapped right out of it. I gave it to him twice a day after that in peanut butter or vanilla ice cream. The rest of the week, his seizures were increasingly weaker and less frequent. After a week, he never had another seizure again. He'd also had two knee surgeries and had pretty bad arthritis from them. The CBD visibly helped with his pain and improved his quality of life and mobility. I had to put him down at the start of May, but CBD got me 6 more good months with him. 5 of those months were substantially better than the six that had preceded them. I have also taken it for some pretty serious nerve pain and it helps quite a bit. It doesn't knock it out, but it noticeably dials down the intensity. From what I've gathered looking in to it, CBD works better with small amounts of THC. This is called the entourage effect. However, the CBD only stuff that papa & barkley sell works almost as well. I've used their drops and their balms. They're expensive, but they work well. The balm is great for muscle aches and pains, but is a lot more expensive per gram of CBD than the oil. If something really hurts a lot, I put a few drops of the oil on the spot, rub it in, then apply the balm to help that set and soak in. CBD comes in all sorts of dosages and ways to take it, so the best way to compare is to calculate out $/mg. In terms of how you absorb it, Vaping/smoking > Under tongue > absorption in stomach.
  12. Tyler White's parents got into it with some fans last night that were complaining about Tyler's weight. The dad apparently was saying he's hitting well and started spouting off stats. Don't know how you defend his hitting when his average is less than he weighs, but his dad gave it a go. For those wondering, his dad is fat, but mom isn't.
  13. And yet, in a nut sack kick full of irony, that was the only question Martin asked D&D to see if they understood his story.
  14. Detail that will may be significant if Martin ever finishes...Bloodraven now sits the throne. The Targayens won the Blackfyre rebellion once and for all.
  15. If Martin really is planning this same ending, I can see why he can't get it finished. There's only so much lipstick you can put on a pig.
  16. According to GRRM - Only death can pay for life/the red god gets his due/debt must be paid when a life is taken. According to D&D - The God of Death sort of forgot about that part.
  17. Narrator: It did. Between a Storm of Swords and A Feast for Crows, Martin both lost some of his drive and got more powerful than his editor. Not giving a fuck and having total autonomy is a bad combination for a writer. As a result, 4 and 5 are filled with filler. Lots of Feast and Dance could have been scrapped and/or streamlined.
  18. "How they got there" is the problem. D&D are stupid, uncreative men that don't understand their characters. They can't even pronounce the names of several of their major characters after working on GOT for over a decade. That's Charlie Strong stupid.
  19. No, they haven't. Not knowing how to pronounce major character names after working on this project for more than a decade is inexcusable, but is also emblematic of how little effort they've put into this and lack of care for details and constancy. They don't understand the story, they don't understand the characters. They try to create shock and only create ridiculous "Danny kind of forgot about Euron" moments. Their MO is to put every character in extreme crisis, preferably with lots of big explodey things, then Deus Ex Machina their way out of it. Add in a few dick jokes from Tyrion and that's a wrap. Halfway decent show runners could have made the whole thing epic, D&D only got in the way.
  20. Varys kind of forgot that he was trying to poison Dany.
  21. Turns out he had bigger nuts than Tyrion after all.
  22. I'm sure a swarm of turkey sized dragons would have really fucked up Euron's plans.
