  1. We've gone over this several times already. Delta and Gamma both can re-infect previously infected people and appear to do so readily, some of the other variants likely as well. The only place in the world we have good data for this is Amazonas province in Brazil. They had ~75% anti-bodies detected in blood sampling, but Gamma was worse than the first wave, suggesting a high rate of re-infection. We don't know what the re-infection rate for the delta variant will be until after it has re-infected enough people to measure it, but it's going to be a fuck-load higher than 1%. GRHorn is going to continue to spout this number anyway.
  2. As I posted up thread, I'm not a medical doctor. Most people on here already know that. I have graduate degrees in Anatomy and Evolutionary Biology. I've taught medical school, dental school, PT/OT, PA and nurse anesthesiologists.
  3. Every eligible American should get vaccinated, including 12-18 year olds.
  4. We don't have to pretend GRHorn doesn't have an extensive posting history here.
  5. He's been trolling and downplaying the risk to kids the entire pandemic under two different user names now. He lumped them together in that post and separated them as two separate things at others, including the one I was quoting. He doesn't list it as a subset, he lists it as a separate "situation" that he is also opposed to. I think it's pretty obvious what his agenda is, but it's not worth you and I arguing over a troll and derailing the conversation any further.
  6. You are missing something. He is questioning two different things, 1) whether previously infected people need to vaccinate, 2) the need to vaccinate anyone from age 12-18, but especially males. He is still pushing the false argument that Covid doesn't impact kids. Hence the wall of text, as you put it, showing that kids contract Covid, that they are getting sick in larger numbers than before, and that they can transmit it to adults.
  7. A functional, first world country would charge him with many manslaughter charges at least. He's criminally stupid, with a Dunning-Kruger drive to fuck it up for the rest of society. He wants to dominate all the marbles, eat all the marbles, but also shove a few up his nose.
  8. The truth is Ashli Babbitt swore an oath to the Constitution and tried to overthrow our government. She was shot while attempting to breach the last line of defense between a seditious mob and our elected leaders. That's what the facts say, but that makes them feel bad, so they will reject it as truth. Ashli Babbitt being a martyr makes them feel good. They will believe it, because it makes them feel good. Ashli Babbitt being a CIA patsy makes them feel good. They will believe it, because it makes them feel good. Feel good = Accept, Feel Bad = Reject
  9. Looks like death finds a way too.
  10. Weak attempted gotcha Fozzz. Lollapalooza was a terrible idea and it never should have happened. They had 100K for each of 4 days, lots of which were people going to multiple days. They required vaccinations or proof of a negative test before admission. There is no way everyone met those criteria. Even if they did, breakthroughs could have attended and people recently infected, but still testing negative in the days before. There are going to be a lot of infections that stem from Lollapalooza and afterwards. Sturgis is a whole other level of stupid. 700K mostly unvaccinated, unmasked people hanging out drinking for 9 days in a tiny South Dakota town. They come from all over the country, but especially the Midwest. Last year fucked a lot of states and that was with the original wuhan variant. Delta has an R between chicken pox and measles.
  11. Update for the J&J folks on here. South African single dose J&J study showed it did reasonably well against Beta and Delta in a real world setting with 480,000 health care workers. Good news regarding hospitalizations and deaths, though a little below the mRNA numbers. No idea on transmission rate though, so still mask up and keep your viral loads low. https://time.com/6088040/johnson-jj-shot-delta-variant/

  13. Virtually every post you've made on this topic since Jan 2020 has been undercutting public health guidelines and/or vaccines. 1) The article YOU posted from the CDC says vaccination of previously infected reduces their odds of contracting Covid by 60%, so you can stop disinformation on that one. 2) 45,000 kids have been hospitalized and tons of transmission have occurred between kids and adults. https://www.cnn.com/2021/08/07/health/children-covid-19-protection/index.html Delta spreads readily between kids and is a serious threat to kids. We've already lost ~400, which y'all say is a small number, but that's some fucking comfort to the families of those kids and the ones that are about to die. https://www.businessinsider.com/delta-variant-covid-risk-to-children-kids-2021-6?op=1 https://www.forbes.com/sites/williamhaseltine/2021/08/04/a-new-study-documents-efficient-covid-19-transmission-from-infected-children-and-adolescents-to-household-contacts/?sh=47f37a42282d So you can stop pushing your disinformation now, but you won't. Everyone who is eligible needs to mask up and vaccinate. Everyone.
  14. Also the end of July. Pages 101 and 102. Being completely wrong about it doesn't stop him from coming on here and downplaying a 60% reduction in risk for vaccinated patients, because he isn't arguing in good faith.
  15. Look, it's important for you to realize that GRHorn/Muy Frio is not anti-vaccine in general. He'll tell you so over and over. He's just opposed to vaccination in virtually every specific situation yet proposed.
  16. It's going to be a massive super spreader event. Delta is crazy contagious, like catch it from the person you stand next to ordering a beer, or in line for the bathroom contagious. They are all going to be crammed into a small South Dakota town. In lots of small towns, Delta is just revving up. Sturgis is happening just in time to pour gasoline all over the growing fire as they return home.
  17. I guess they don't have a problem putting a cover over their faces after all.
  18. That plus Trump being Putin's gimp, betraying the kurds, losing the war in afghanistan, having Trump suggest injecting bleach and inserting UV lights into various orifices, walking out on a bunch of international agreements, impeaching Trump twice while Mitch apologized for a criminal, an endless list of other things, and showing no signs at all that we've learned anything from any of this. Our populace become even more belligerently stupid in response. Instead of punishing Trump for inciting sedition, we let him go to Mar-A-Lago and plot further attacks.
  19. Don't bother. He's admitted he's GRHorn, who was banned by everyone. That's all I cared about, that people know the poster they are talking to and are able to judge their relative credibility.
  20. Ad hominem against a poster banned for lying that is now using a sock account to be a new poster? It's not me calling him a liar. It was the entire site that voted him out.
  21. This isn't surprising. It's the same signal we've seen everywhere else. I posted last week about similar numbers in Houston, LA and Chicago. Places with higher vaccination rates will have higher percentages of breakthrough hospitalizations. That's the people available to infect. It's going to go up, but as long as it stays below the percent vaccinated in the overall population, it shows the vaccines are still working, just not as well as we'd hoped. Israeli data was strongly stratified. Most the breakthrough hospitalizations were over 60. May be age, may be that they were vaccinated first.
  22. Bullshit. I'm a known poster with an honestly disclosed background who does not claim to be a doctor. I also posted citations to most of what I was claiming and made clear that these were my opinions and that they disagreed with consensus in areas. I do think they will be correct, but people can make their own opinions. I'd love to be wrong. GRHorn is a known liar who claimed to be a medical doctor under his previous account and has been intentionally spreading dissension and lies the entire time he has posted on this board. He's also banned for lying and using several sock accounts to continue to do so. I only responded to him at all so other posters could recognize him as a banned liar. If you can't see the difference there, it's because his is one of your biggest allies on topics we can't discuss on this board and you are letting that creep in.
  23. Why would you encourage wearing valved mask? Thanks, I wasn't clear enough, but can't edit it. Wear a paper mask over it. That filters your exhaust and is still way more comfortable for you. I wear the top mask with paper ones similar to the ones below. hhttps://www.homedepot.com/p/3M-8511-N95-Sanding-and-Fiberglass-Valved-Respirator-15-Pack-8511H15-DC-PS/206408974 ttps://www.homedepot.com/p/MACHIMPEX-Disposable-Face-Masks-50-Pack-DM587507/313893843#overlay
  24. They aren't going to do shit, no matter what. This is going to be an uncontrolled burn while the GQP bitches that someone should have raked the forests. If you are under the delusion that Covid doesn't infect kids, dissuade yourselves of it now. It's never been true, but it's absurd to take that position with Delta. It's going to do really bad things in places that have banned mask mandates and require in-person schooling. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-08-03/idaho-sees-surge-in-covid-19-infections-in-babies-and-toddlers https://www.fox8live.com/2021/08/02/children-make-up-more-than-2000-new-covid-19-cases-reported-louisiana/ There's tons of others, but the GQP is once again proving they only care about kids until they are out of the womb.
