  1. They did a Citronaut throwback in basketball against ISU their first year in the Big 12.
  2. Florida Tech Citronauts is so much better than University of Central Florida Golden Knights, and it's not even close. Such a waste.
  3. I have friends coming into town later this afternoon that I want to have some beers with, and if I didn't work out at 4AM I wasn't going to work out today. I also have a 2 year old that is in constant motion when she's awake, so the wife and I have worked out a schedule where I get up early and work out in the morning (while kid is still sleeping) and she can work out after work since I take the kid.
  4. I’ve never seen it before - that’s excellent
  5. I don't know exactly what came out of my mouth, but during the 2013 ISU/UT game where we stopped you on the goal line, forced a fumble (which would have ended the game) but the refs ruled down by contact, I let out a stream of vitriol at the absolute top of my lungs that prompted this guy to turn around and tell me to "clean up my act". It had to be baaaaad.
  6. I'm an old Millenial raised by very tail end Boomers. My folks graduated in '77. My old man's record collection was full of the classics and hugely influential on my taste as an adult. Lots of Steely Dan, Zeppelin, Stones, Deep Purple, Petty, GNR. My old man kept up with contemporary music well into his 30's, so even though I was in grade school when grunge exploded, the Big 4 were a huge part of what I was musically exposed to.
  7. That’s kind of what I was wondering about. People who are default UT or Aggy fans that aren’t that dedicated and open to other things. I’d have to imagine Houston is big enough that people like that exist.
  8. I think the Coogs would be smart to just lean into the Oiler blue full time. I think it would help them with some casuals around town (assuming such a person exists).
  9. I hate Bugle Bird, don’t like beveled I State, but I really like flat I State. Script Cyclones was used a lot in the 80’s. I had baby clothes with it on there. Texas has no reason to do a fucking thing uniform wise, IMO.
  10. Or Atlantic than Palo Alto, CA. Or Rocky Mountain than DeKalb, Illinois.
  11. Why is ECU in the spot they're in? They have probably the biggest fanbase of a remaining G5 school. Their stadium wouldn't be the smallest in any P4 league. They've shown you can win there. But they've never ever even been close to being a candidate to move up in the world. Just always seemed a little weird to me.
  12. I like watching ISU wrestling when they have Friday night duals, but I'm not huge into it. Part of it is that college wrestling is just everyone fighting to be #2 because Pedo State is so far out ahead of everyone else at this stage. Even Iowa and OK State can't catch them.
  13. Doesn't this get someone excommunicated from Oklahoma altogether?
  14. Nah. We'll never be competitive and no one cared when we had one.
  15. I'm starting to think that the Big 12 and ACC backed 5+11 in hopes it would create a wedge between the SEC and Big 10. The Big 12 and ACC are far less disadvantaged by a playoff that includes them (even if they don't get many teams in) than they are by a playoff that does not include them. The Big 10 is not the SEC's on-field equal, and everyone knows it. That's a big part of why the Big 10 wants 4 auto-bids (outside of creating revenue via play-ins). Weirdly, it's better for the bulk of the sport if the SEC considers itself above everyone than if it decides to have one special friend it wants to go hold hands with in their tree fort forever. If the SEC and Big 10 aren't on the same page, they're far less likely to push the red button.
  16. Preach Gen Z ISUers love that logo because A) Gen Z has awful taste, and B) everyone gets sentimental about shit from their early childhood.
  17. New lids
  18. (whispers in farmer) that’s a tractor…
  19. When I was a little kid the similarity of the names "Liam Neeson" and "Leslie Neilson" always fucked with me. That reason alone made me happy that Neeson was cast as Drebin Jr.
  20. Yeah, it’s definitely the networks running the show, but they want more inventory than the top 15-20 schools provide. They already have most of the sport at a price point that works really well, and that’s why I think the Big 10/SEC remoras will be paid less, but not formally relegated. Like what the Big 12 and ACC are currently experiencing.
  21. My guess is that the SEC and Big 10 take maybe 4 schools currently in the ACC, and maintain their position of power and financial top level status. The Big 12 and remaining ACC merge into something. Perhaps the ACC schools that aren't really that committed to big time college athletics (BC, Wake) drop down a level to like an AAC or whatever. A playoff that's majority SEC and Big 10 with a handful of spots for the next tier and maybe 1 of the current G5 results in this aftermath. This gives the Big 10 and SEC all the power and money they want, with enough access to everyone to prevent anti-trust suits. Within the Big 10 and SEC, there will be a re-arranging of finances. The Purdues and Rutgers of the world won't be culled per se, but they'll no longer be paid as much as Ohio State and Michigan. They'll be given the choice of being paid to associate with those schools and take losses, or attempt a more competitive but less lucrative existence in the BigACC or whatever that entity goes by. The tiers that are obvious today will become more cemented in a de facto sense, but probably not formally.
  22. The new Pac 12 feels like it's going to be my Friday night wind down when coming home from the field, and I'm all about it.
  23. A nice reminder that my recollection of him not being a total asshole prior to COVID was valid.
  24. Or was it Diseased Iguana Brewing’s specialty?
