  1. You have to be pretty pleased with the season thus far. Meant to watch your game today but got busy.
  2. Turned into a snoozer after a shaky first 10 minutes. I’ll allow it.
  3. He’s assuredly been drinking since he woke up, and not casually either. Basically, his blood has too much alcohol in it to freeze. You’re the doctor here, but it makes sense to me.
  4. I feel like that guy is a breathing avatar of the complete insanity that underlies any Midwestern lifer.
  5. Death, taxes, Otz losing to the Pokes in Hilton
  6. I’ve been pushing snow since 4AM. Wife has a crock pot beef stew with copious amounts of garlic and onion and a glorious looking chuck roast from my buddy’s cow. It’s planned for supper
  7. I got it once. It was about -15/20 outside and we got called to a fire at an autobody shop. It was full of all sorts of explosive flammable shit and cars, so we set up outside and just poured water on the fucker at enough of a distance to not really be warmed by the flame. I was a rookie at the time and didn't get to go in either. A little patch of exposed skin below my eye got it, and it was probably 2 years before it finally cleared up completely, but it was never that severe.
  8. Don't even get me started on the fuckery of modern tornado warnings.
  9. I feel like we get advisories we shouldn't all the time. If it gets down to 0 we get a "life threatening cold alert". If it gets over 90 we get a "heat warning advisory". It's Iowa. We get well below 0 every winter and well above 90 every summer. We don't need advisories for either, and I'm frankly a tad insulted that NWS thinks we do.
  10. As someone who lives in the rural Midwest and did so in 2019, surveillance cameras still aren't super common in general - with a couple of exceptions: 1) trail cams for hunting, and 2) the ones paranoid fucks put up on their property. The Tillman ranch would likely have them for both purposes in 2019.
  11. There are obvious political overtones to this show. Why should we have to dance around that in a thread about the show?
  12. Yeah, in 2019 Roy Tillman is getting invited to the White House and given a Medal of Honor. Probably being recruited as a running mate.
  13. I went to a Vikings game late last year and saw absolutely no obviously stupid fan behavior. I hadn't been since 2014, and that day the first thing I encountered were 2 guys in Zubaz who had passed out and pissed themselves next to the elevator. It was night and day.
  14. "DON'T TOUCH THAT DOG. NOT EVER." Jesus, this is going to be bittersweet.
  15. I love both. I'll probably churn out 3 and 4 this winter even though I haven't talked to anyone who really liked either. I got all the way through Season 1 before I realized that Lou was the deputy from Season 2 and that final standoff was the Sioux Falls incident.
  16. Not off Lake Superior in the dead of winter though.
  17. I was thinking about how dumb it was of her to leave the gun out, and how it's out of character. But is it? Dot has done dumb shit this whole time. Refusing to accept help that could EASILY bring Roy down, while constantly lying about what's going on when it's completely obvious that she's trapped in said lie. She is an absolute badass, but she's also had a dipshit streak running through the character all season. It's really not that inconsistent with her character to just give them an easy chance to kill her.
  18. She stupidly left it laying out. Bowman found it right before they opened the grave.
  19. Maybe. The Big 10 got tougher, but you still have at least half the league being more or less total garbage. I think Lanning makes a lot of sense for Bama. I don't know enough about him to have an opinion on whether or not it's a situation he wants. He has a better opportunity in the Big 10 in terms of making the playoff and winning games.
  20. I've seen a lot of conjecture that Bama's NIL situation is mid pack at best in the SEC, which is believable for a lot of reasons. Between that and having to follow the GOAT, I think a lot of coaches would be idiots to take that job unless all they're looking for is a golden parachute. With Kirby Smart rolling at Georgia, Texas entering the league with what seems to be competent leadership, Brian Kelly at LSU, and schools in the league that suck but can bury you financially (Aggy), the next guy is likely fighting an uphill battle to be a playoff team on a regular basis.
