  1. OK, so first, you made up those numbers. Because if you used actual numbers, the numbers don't say what you want them to say. So you had to make shit up to win a stupid internet argument or whatever. Second, it feels like you and too many others have this mindset that head football coaches have fuckin' Magical Fairy Godmother powers where they just wave a wand and, bippity-boppity-boo, all your team's problems are solved. And... this is not just a Texas or a Surly thing; look at all the hate Ryan Day gets from tOSU fans, and he's the most successful head coach in CFB currently. Now, if you're reading that and offended that I compared you to a drooling, inbred tOSU fan, good. You should be. Now on the OU Week thread I gave equal hate to the Polyannas who yell "IN SARK I TURST". I spend less time typing back to them, though, because they're an even dumber group of mouth-breathing dipshits than the "WHY DOESN'T SARK WAVE HIS MAGIC WAND AND MAKE THINGS BETTER" group you appear to belong to. Of course we're playing differently in the 3rd quarter than we used to. Of course we've struggled on offense. Almost our entire offense had never played significant snaps as starters. They didn't, because we sent nearly that same entire offense to the NFL last Spring. So now that we have new personnel, it's going to take game-time snaps against REAL competition before they get good. And now that we have new personnel, the 3rd quarter behavior is different, because the personnel are different, and the way the offense performs reflects the group we're putting on the field. The joy this season will come from seeing them improve from quarter to quarter in each game. The offense that played in the 2nd half against Florida was better than the one that played in the 1st half; the offense that played the 1st half against OU was better than the one that played the 2nd half against Florida. And the second half offense against OU... was getting really good.
  2. While there's a LOT of room for improvement, I feel like something *clicked* with the line yesterday. Improvement is rarely a straight line or smooth curve; a lot of times it's like a stair-stepping function, where you bust your ass for a long time and see no improvement, then one day it just *works* and you're over the wall... until you get to the next wall. I don't know if OL play follows that, but it sure looked like we got over a big hump on Saturday. And while OU's DL might not be the best one we face all year -- we have some really good defenses on our schedule, they were statistically the best through 5 games, which means they don't suck.
  3. I do not understand the criticism of Niblett When you take into account the median intelligence of the typical Surly poster, then account for the fact that HALF the board is even dumber than THAT, multiply by the amount of alcohol consumed by said posters, lowering their IQs even more? Then it makes complete sense. It doesn't make sense if you're somewhat intelligent, knowledgeable or sober. But there are so few of us...
  4. See, this is all we need: Week-to-week improvement.
  5. that aged well
  6. if you are sober and find yourself agreeing with Ketch, it's time to reevaluate your life choices
  7. if you ever find yourself agreeing with anything Ketch says, it's time to stop drinking
  8. not just not yesterday... the 3rd quarter issues have been absent most of the season
  9. i hear james franklin is available that's incredibly rude... how dare they offend retards by comparing them to Ketch? They already knew, if they're old enough to remember Gary Gibbs. it's their specialty
  10. Remember how Sark was supposedly unable to win games where he was down at the half? Remember how Sark was supposedly at fault for us not being able to score in the 3rd quarter?
  11. you want to crown PK the king of defense? today, he just allowed the second highest point total in the RRS since Venables took over at OU
  12. You're a wet blanket. OU has arguably the best defense we'll face all year. And what we saw today, even in the first quarter, was significant improvement across the board.
  13. though the throws behind the line of scrimmage need to be removed from the playbook
  14. ut Even in the 1st quarter, I was watching the game thinking, "We are playing better right now. Might not win, but we are playing better." Not just on defense, but OL, running game, etc. I think at some point between the first quarter and the second half, it finally started to click for the OL. We started gaining rushing yards...without holding penalties! Arch finally had time to survey the field.
  15. This has been a pretty one-sided game so far. Georgia has 20 total yards of offense with half the 2nd quarter to go, and only 5 minutes of possession.
  16. THIS is who Steve Sarkisian is.
  17. then I'll enjoy the highlights
  18. Ya know, I had a good day today. I don't need to watch aggy win to fuck it up
  19. Meanwhile, 1 week ago...
