  1. Helobious is wrong more than Rocko
  2. If you look at the video in this Reddit post, it looks like there is no ‘hatch’…the whole thing cracks open just before the foreskin. Pretty sure they just bolt it shut from the outside. https://www.reddit.com/r/Damnthatsinteresting/comments/14f6kpc/a_tour_of_the_submarine_that_disappeared_near/
  3. This…you can choose to give a fuck and introduce intrigue/drama/stress into your life this way…or you can find another avenue for that perpetual self-loathing and nut-punching, like being an OSU fan.
  4. Pretty sure this is what happened
  5. Absolutely. Boeing has continued to squeeze way too much blood from the stone that is the 737 airframe. In addition, the FAA trusted them too much to self-regulate. Both of these things are probably due to a complex mix of corporate profit chasing, poor leadership at the FAA and budgetary pressure by the government. My understanding is part of the reason for the lax oversight was the FAA didn’t have enough funding to adequately staff engineering/inspectors. That’s obviously not the whole truth but I’m tired of the ‘government doesn’t work, so we cut funding/oversight so business can flourish away from regulation and are acting surprised that businesses pursued profit at the expense of the public’ crowing. Texas just passed a law that’ll strip cities of rules they implemented for worker safety (like water breaks), under the guise of ensuring business isn’t burdened with inconsistent regulation. Are we going to act surprised when someone dies of heat stroke because the company wants to squeeze more productivity during a heat wave?
  6. Oh shit did that Delta Tug 2 driver move from Kennedy to ATL?
  7. I bet if they’d used a Nintendo Wavebird instead of that knockoff bullshit chinesium XBox controller, they’d have made it back just fine. Damn things are indestructible.
  8. Knock on wood, but Pre has been a lifesaver…both the shorter lines and no liquids/shoes/laptop bullshit. Even with kids in tow it rarely takes more than ten minutes. What got me this past week when we flew out of AUS is the gate areas are often incredibly small for the number of passengers…they keep cramming more seats on planes and up-gauging to mainline at gates originally meant for regionals/legacy MD-80 types. And fuck those terminal-end locations, especially the SW rotunda thing at DCA. You either get there super early, stand the whole time, sit on the floor or find an empty gate for open seats…but then can lose the means to know when your boarding group is called if you’re too far away. Besides, everyone loves to crowd around the gate anyways, so you have to navigate a wall of people. Whole process just sucks.
  9. I saw three marriages end during my two business trips to the Philippines…one of which was already married to a Pinay back home, but didn’t appreciate the dude knocking up another girl while we were in Bacolod. Both of my trips added up to about four months…things happen, uhhh, quickly in the land of no birth control and Burgos street
  10. Best to have armored infantry employed in a combined arms fashion, to help mitigate those risks. You know…tactics. Like those learned in, say, the 1940’s during a little skirmish.
  11. Was reading an article this morning about it. Her defense attorneys are doing what y’all do, and saying there was no evidence of fentanyl in the house or that she actually executed those things she was searching for. I mean…I get it, that’s what they’re paid to do. But damn, is that evidence admissible? Because it sure seems to fit the mold
  12. Wait…he’s saying that advertisers MISLEAD US???!!
  13. Yep it’d be a great way for them to reach a wider audience on their limited hours of operation, shit they make and dick jokes
  14. There’s plenty of subreddit echo chambers for whatever subject you want to feed your confirmation bias with.
  15. Well generative models are proving to have unexpected impacts, Reddit is certainly allowed to not provide that content for free to them or 3rd party apps, but the users have a right to voice their displeasure with the native app apparently being trash / shutting out 3rd party interfaces. Just like this place / Twitter, the value is in the user base and content they provide. Curious to see how it all pans out. Reddit does trend towards a younger audience, who love to mix naïveté and outrage in curious fashion…strongly political but don’t vote, validly criticize obscene corporate profits but don’t offer proposed solutions, etc. I’m not dismissive of their complaints, by any stretch, but this feels a little like facebook alternatives…Reddit has massive momentum in content and market penetration, competitors are small and fragmented, and many probably feel like me in that I have no interest in ‘starting over’ again (Fark, Digg, etc) for another source of that kind of info.
  16. I wish I was like 6’9” so I can get with Leoshi, cause she don’t know me but yo she really fine.
  17. How did that guy from Home Alone 2 get access to classified info in the first place?
  18. I blame these guys, who are in their late 20’s now
