  1. The writers for season 2 of NowThis are trying too hard
  2. All bullshit that lead to that moment aside, it was refreshing to watch a team actually listen to my dumbass and go for 2 when the defense commits a penalty on a TD. Late in a critical game like that, it’s all about information…and you learn more about your options by going for 2 there: get it and you can play the rest of the game for a winning FG, miss it and you know with 3m left you need a TD. Kicking the PAT just means you’re on the defensive now and lost the initiative. Fortune favors the bold…fuck it. Fun game
  3. Has he tried getting elected to Congress?
  4. Oh gawd it better be recorded and made publicly available
  5. As noted above I haven’t been on a strict dry January but only drank once, four Pecan Porters (over five hours) a week ago at my buddy’s house for a very rare get together with him. Don’t see anything for another few weeks where I’ll drink anything…glad for that. December saw me give back 3 pounds of the 25 I’d lost last year and my resting heart rate went from monthly average of 59 to about 64, mostly due to having at least one drink a good 15/31 days. Glad to be back on the downlow. On a side note I love me some Hometown Hero Delta 9 Select Spectrum gummies. Mail order them, split one with my wife every week or so…good stuff. At ACL I’d have 3-4 beers during the day then switch to a gummy half when the sun went down, great way to keep vibing without all the complications/hangover. Legal in Texas.
  6. I thought it was over when they bombed Pearl Harbor
  7. Seems the new Congress is off to a great start. In general I agree there should be as extensive an investigation as feasible into the origins of Covid, but in practice I don’t really see The Lancet / NYT / etc somehow breaking down the walls of communist China to find proof of origin and ‘hold them accountable’. So…good luck y’all? Get yourself to Wuhan and start banging on the door of the lab…I’m sure it was just US journalists that needed convincing to really figure it out this time.
  8. I predict wonderful things for this thread
  9. “I’m totally not Mackenzie even though I’ve only posted twice ever, both times in the Mackenzie thread, tirelessly extolling the flawless virtues of one Mackenzie Kelly as she navigates the bulging, lumpy road of politics in her district”.
  10. It’s my fault, every time I open the pistols firing site there’s more bad news. Just gonna stop reading it for a few…years I guess.
  11. Oh no the NOTAMS were down? How could they tell? Obviously joking but just being an aviation fan I always find it humorous just how many NOTAMS there can be with extraneous information, just like every ATIS cautioning about bird activity near an airport. If you don’t have Foreflight or a dispatch department, it’s gotta be a bitch to decode in busy airspace. https://www.flyingmag.com/why-notams-are-garbage/
  12. The one tailgate I stopped by, I couldn’t tell if he was 25 or 65…I’m 42 and anything more than 1 drink per hour with lots of water and 2-3 dry hours before bedtime fucks with my sleep.
  13. Who knows. Ultimately my kid did damage his property and I’ve seen the video proof, making it right is the right thing to do, and my time is more valuable than making this some ordeal over ~$200. This guy probably goes through life carrying a toothbrush to keep his sneakers clean…if so, good luck buddy. Anyone willing to call police over a door ding is not someone I ever want to see again.
  14. Yeah I hate door dings as much as the next guy, but even the cop who called us to follow up said ‘this is a little ridiculous’. Naturally he’s a RE agent, friends with my wife’s maid of honor who is also a pretty vain RE agent. He tried to call my insurance first but luckily I’d just switched, don’t need this shit on there…just consider it ‘having young dumbass kids tax’ and move on.
  15. Rivians also have a 360 camera that turns on when it detects any impacts while parked. Apparently my 6yo daughter caused a small door ding while my wife was helping our son get out on the other side of her car…she didn’t see it, but the owner filed a police report to get our contact info (plate was visible), had his wife FB message my wife, and now I’m on the hook for a couple hundred to fix his new truck. He texted me the video. Awesome.
  16. He whooped our ass against a Jim Knowles defense back in like 2018 before he had a big time injury. Checks one box of need, only 4,138 left until we have a complete team
  17. Oh look yet another random user with low rep/posts, a hot chick avatar, building rep in sports threads before jumping into the CR fray with predictably right wing viewpoints.
  18. My past alcohol issues are laid out in several threads around here…but relevant here is that tolerance from regular heavy drinking made each subsequent foray like the Aggy coaster: feeling good, feeling fine, having fun, then off the cliff disaster-level wasted. It became a stupid, dangerous, pointless balancing act every time I drank. Once I got stressors/mental shit fixed, was able to change my relationship with alcohol and it wasn’t a regular part of my (near daily) routine. With that came low tolerance, and I could have a few drinks on occasion without having to balance it like fucking Goldilocks to chase that ‘just right’. Also gone was the mental gymnastics of ‘will I or won’t I tonight’. I could take it or leave it. Obviously my case was more extreme than many of y’all but my point is that a break can be a beneficial reset of your physical tolerance and mental relationship with alcohol…not to mention a good ‘test’ to ensure you’re not white knuckling over it, and if it’s an ordeal then maybe time to think that habit over a bit. I actually enjoy dry Jan not necessarily for myself, but after all the social gatherings in Nov/Dec where alcohol is everywhere with unspoken pressure to join in…everyone else calming their tits naturally means a quieter social life in general for awhile, and therefore I barely drink too. /sorry for YGIF’ing
  19. Jesus that was hard to read…I know it’s The Sun but damn those embedded ads, random links and all the other bullshit lowbrow websites use to drive accidental clicks
  20. Considering it’s FitLump my expectation is that the worst possibility of intended outcome, sincerity and motive are almost certainly true. So there’s that.
