  1. Ha! My rule is that anything under the MMH umbrella, while pricey, is generally very very good.
  2. Wrong. Lambert’s is great as long as you don’t treat it like a typical bbq place and think you have to order brisket or sausage. Apps and salads are great as is all the grilled stuff. Grilled quail, grilled tbone pork chop, whatever fish they have on the menu are all very good. The coffee rubbed ribeye is one of the best steaks in town. Sides are all very good too.
  3. Lambert’s perlas vespaio cocina atx
  4. Will be there in a few weeks for a long weekend. Want to stay in a cool place but most important is probably location - want a good walkable fun to explore area with a bunch of cool shit. Out of 4 seasons, Chicago athletic club, soho house, and park Hyatt which one is in best spot for having fun walking around? I’ve heard that particular park Hyatt is great. Any standout hotels unique to Chicago? We love soho house in other cities but it doesn’t seem like it’s in as active an area (as far as I can tell but don’t know for sure). Also any guidance on how far out you have to be to get a reservation at alinea? Any other recs for a great meal if only a few weeks away?
  5. Thought the characters’ endings minus bran were ok. Crazy thing to me was toward the end it was almost like a comedy or like they were fucking with us or something. The tone of the meeting where Tyrion picked bran and the way they all kind of kept looking around at each other with almost knowing smiles or smirks was bizarre. Same with the meeting after that with bron. Just so different from the way either of those situations would have been handled any other time during the show.
  6. Any recs for Barton hills area? In the hills and will be on a slant - have had people tell me that’ll make it more expensive and others tell me won’t really matter. Anyone know?
  7. We're in Barton Hills and have had it for at least a couple of years. I'd say it's slightly cheaper (was quite a bit cheaper but it's been gradually going up) and materially more reliable/faster internet than our previous Uverse. RC/interface for DVR etc is almost identical to Uverse.
  8. This was my thinking when I bought - basically wanted that one extra passenger option. But we very very rarely need that extra seat and getting in and out of third row is a beatdown
  9. Got a suburban a couple of months ago and love it but have one problem. Got second row bench but am really wishing we got captains. Can they be switched out? Really don't want to go to trouble of trading it in but would be willing to pay a bit for the switch just don't know if that's even possible.
  10. I had a Hutch and loved that bike (my buddies raced at the Brazosport track and I hung out as McDowell's all the time in LJ but my mother wouldn't let me race). It got stolen so I got a Robinson which I liked but not like that Hutch. I'd love to get a couple (one for me and one for my boy). Is Ebay the best place to look? Any other places you all know of?
  11. We're here now and have had a great time skiing the last few days. Very small mountain but only 30 minutes from town and not too crowded especially for spring break. Snow is great right now. Have also enjoyed Pasquale's for breakfast and foundation burger for quick after ski stop. Staying at inn at Loretta which is easy and convenient and relatively cheap. Love roaming around the plaza and other areas. Have done meow wolf in the past and loved it. Hoping to hit up brewery after skiing and 10000 waves soak tomorrow. Also did easy morning trip to national park with crazy coned rock structures. It's an easy hike for kids. Santa Fe is really a great kids town. Our 6 and 7 year old love it.
  12. At least it took a decade to get me.
  13. No he means he's amazed that you're such a fucking idiot. What's the difference? The Muslim side is a huge menacing photo of a young adult who is standing defiantly with a smirk on his face and looks like he's thinking about raping some kids. The other guy's photo is a sweet baby picture with his dad. The headline on the left dehumanizes the Muslim. The headline on the right frames the other guy as a sweet angelic child who took a wrong turn somewhere. The fonts and boldness are even different. I've probably been on these boards longer than you and have never posted anything other than travel stuff and questions on the occasional can you help me with this board. Your years and years worth of moronic shit posts finally drew me out. Also I've been wanting to ask forever. Do you really think the 99% of posters who think you're a fucking dumbass are wrong and you're right? You really think "none of the hundreds who have called me a complete idiot know what they're taking about. I'm right and all of them are wrong." If so holy shit that's crazy #1 to be so confident and #2 to be so wrong.
  14. Thanks!
  15. Is it sold out? Could I walk up and get 4? Don't care where the seats are.
  16. Yeah I like basil (just reg never had any other) but think of it as almost bourbon light. It's my office bourbon.
  17. We'll be at Wrigley but it'll be for a dead & co show. Very excited.
  18. They're telling me that with my leveling kit the 34's will just barely rub on the front wheel wells closest to the cab on a full turn. Discount guys are saying it's just barely that it's not a big deal at all. Any thoughts on this?
  19. Fwiw that's what the guys at discount talked me into this week. They claim best quality at most reasonable price but who knows. I think terra is more street then ridge all terrain then trail off-road. I ordered some ridges and some smaller wheels (selling the 22's I mentioned above). Supposed to be here in a few days.
  20. Fior sounds similar but just remembered -- it was Tommasos. It's what I'd call a classic red sauce Italian joint -- simple menu and dishes but very good. Also it was great for kids (even though it was across the street from the Hustler club and next door to a sex shop). 1042 Kearny Street in North Beach. Stella was the name of the bakery that was so good. It's probably a block and a half or so from Tommasos and City Lights.
  21. Just last week we did 4 days there with our 5 and 7 year olds. We stayed at the Hotel Vitale on the corner of Mission and the Embarcadero nearly directly across the street from the Ferry Building. The hotel was fine with kids and the location was great. We walked across the street and ate breakfast in the Ferry Building every morning (a bunch of little bakeries and they have a killer farmers' market on Saturday) and then headed down the water from there (trolley a couple of times, pedicab a couple of times, walked a couple of times) to see the wharf, exploratorium, aquarium, sea lions, etc. One day we ubered to golden gate park, explored that area, and then ubered to North Beach to eat at a little bitty Italian joint that's been there since the 1930's (trying to remember the name will ask my wife and report back). It was great but my favorite part was the Saturday night post-supper walk through North Beach back to the hotel. That area is super dense and has a true urban feel. It also still has a little bit of an edge to it and it was packed Saturday night. Seeing all of those people (and all kinds of people -- homeless, tourists, long time locals, partying young professionals, etc.) packed into such an urban setting really blew my kids' minds. They loved it and I loved seeing them react to it. My 7 year old daughter told me the next morning that she wanted to go to college in SF and live in North Beach. We also stopped at City Lights book store and told them about the beat stuff and a great little Italian bakery. We also had a great teaching moment that night as a homeless guy went apeshit pretty close to us when we were walking back to the hotel. I told the kids to just ignore him keep looking straight ahead and keep walking and when we got back to the hotel we had a good talk about how that kind of shit happens sometimes and that it's ok and this is how you handle yourself, etc. The last day we rented a car through the hotel (it was very easy (they bring it to hotel and you leave it at valet that night when you get back) and we got a decent rate) and did Muir Woods and then saw some family in Sonoma. Muir Woods was great and the kids really enjoyed it. Sonoma was fine and we had to go to see family but I probably wouldn't recommend going all the way out there when there's so much other cool kid stuff to do. Also had really good dim sum at Yank Sing (I think they have 2 locations and both are walking distance from Vitale).
  22. This is true. My wife thinks I'm insane. I told her this (suburban w/ level kit and big tires) is my midlife crisis and as far as those go this one's pretty tame so she should be grateful.
  23. Well fuck. I was thinking mine were 20's but they're 22's (305/45/22) so I'm definitely going to have to get new wheels too. Anyone want some sweet 22 inch wheels?
  24. That's the exact question I've asked the guys at discount and they're telling me that if I want more sidewall and the more traditional truck off-road look that, yes, I do need to get different wheels. They showed me what they say is the closest to what i want with my current 20's (I think it's called the grappler all terrain) and, while a bit closer, it still isn't what I'm looking for. Anyone here knowledgeable enough in this area to confirm or expand on what the guys at discount are telling me?
  25. Thanks for the info. One more question -- the suburban came with after-market wheels. They're nice (black, low profile, maybe 20's or so but don't allow for more off road higher sidewall tires I want) but don't really fit with what I'm going for (which is more like your truck above). Any thoughts on the best place / method of getting the most I can for the wheels I'm getting rid of? Your truck looks great by the way.
