  1. Air fried burrito?
  2. I agree, except it will just give them more "justification" for their thuggery.
  3. Holy shit- "physical appearance, accent..." If you're brown, you're goin' down.
  4. Not condoning that, but WTF raiding farms? We don't need food I guess.
  5. Doesn't really change the fact that there is a cap.
  6. OK, let's play out your position. Let's call the players what they are, professionals. The National Football League has self imposed guardrails to try to create some level of competitive balance. It's called the salary cap. Precisely what Prime is suggesting. That's how markets like Kansas City and in hoops OKC can compete with markets like LA, NYC, Chicago, etc. Sure it's great as a Dodger fan to be able to spend wildly to field the most competitive team they can, but that is also why most people hate the Dodgers. It's the same in CFB. If there are no limits to what players can earn, then it'll be OSU, Texas, Oregon, Bama, Georgia etc who really are the only teams who have a realistic chance. Is that good for the game? Honest question. And TRY to look at it as objectively as you can, as if you have zero affiliation to any team.
  7. You know that’s a stupid and nonsensical comparison.
  8. But his hockey training of grabbing him by the shirt to pull him in, pop him so he goes flying back, only to pull him in again by his shirt was great. It was like one of those paddleball games.
  9. Agreed. I know it's impossible for surly to be objective, but what is better for college football overall? SOME sort of pay-for-play guardrails, or just let the players go to the highest bidder, whatever the price? I already know what most will answer though.
  10. What would be the point? Get as many young prospects playing time as you can. Who knows, maybe one of them gets hot and becomes a trade asset. DJ ain't becoming that.
  11. This is very much the case. After the Eaton Fire, we were all eager to roll up our sleeves and start helping physically in any way we could. The reality was the scope and scale of the destruction was WAY beyond the abilities of just well intentioned neighbors. Ultimately the best way we found to help was financially through Go Fund Me's for families who had lost everything (and we know many dozens/hundreds in this situation). But to that end, be VERY certain the GFM's are legit. Even if they are for people you know. The scumbags are already out setting up bogus ones, filing BS FEMA claims just using public property data and social media, you name it. Trust but verify. I can't stress that enough. But yes, the scale may be way more than the surly flood brigade can impact. But maybe not. Wishing you all the very best.
  12. This one is my favorite.
  13. I hope she gets sent back to Iran and gets stoned to death. And not in the good way.
  14. Dodgers in a mini freefall. Everyone is scuffling, and the staff is a mess. Glasnow looked good today in his return though.
  15. Hopefully we can get back on track. Been a rough few games recently.
  16. Yeah I was listening to an interview with a local official and he said they just don't know how many people were in the area visiting, so it's almost impossible to determine how many may be missing. Heartbreaking.
  17. This is shear lunacy. What have we become?
  18. I struggle with you being cool and a Trojan at the same time. Kidding as I of course have literally dozens of good Trojan friends. But damn that’s some awesome boating and fishing. At 58, these are the great moments. I want to do a fishing trip to Alaska with my son.
  19. So had our first weekend with just me and the wife this weekend on the boat since our kids. But we did a bunch of Catalina before we had kids 21 years ago. And it was great. We’re going to do more of this. But put her on the ferry home today. And just chilled solo and caught a bunch of fish off the side of the boat with a little 4lb spinner. Great weekend. Except for two things- the awfulness that occurred in the Texas hill country. Breaks my heart. And the Astros sweeping the Dodgers.
  20. And I should mention I put my wife on the ferry at 2p today and am just cold chillin. Moving to the boating thread.
  21. Was certainly targeting bigger fish and hoped to get some keeper calico bass and hopefully a yellowtail. But it wasn’t to be. Fished all over both trolling a rapala and just got hounded by mackerel. Caught a couple short calicos on the plastic (see attached). But when I’m bored on the boat, I throw a 4lb test spinner over the side and typically get little pinners. And that happened again. Did get a whitefish once on the tiny spinner that my boy and I added to a fat calico we caught and made good fish tacos. But this sheephead was my fattest fish I got to the boat when I was just fucking around. I knew if I tried to boat it on 4 lb test the line wouldn’t be able to lift it out. But I didn’t want gaff hi: because I have no interest in boating one fish to filet. But they are really tasty. Look at those teeth. They scour the sand and rocks for crustaceans. And they taste like crab. And they are a super weird fish. All sheephead are born female, and as they age (like this guy) they turn male.
  22. I was a little out of touch the last few days and was aware of the tragedy but had no idea the scale. As someone whose community experienced widespread devastation earlier this year, my heart is with any and all of you affected, either personally or tangentially. Will be tracking these donations sites. Bob Lives! donation site was stop number one.
  23. Still only counts as one loss. Next game.
