  10. Tough way to go. I can't say that I knew him well, but had been acquainted with him through a Dallas food writer that I hung out with some all the way back to The Palm days. He was a natural at his chosen profession. RIP.

  18. My Dad remarried pretty quickly when my Mom died in her 60s. The good news is that the woman he married was 4-5Xs wealthier than my Dad and had grown kids that I was friendly with. They only went in jointly on their new main house and a lake house. When she died, my Dad was able to buy out her half of the real estate from her kids and errybody went on their merry way.
  19. We added an ADU in rural Williamson County just using a contractor we had worked with before on some remodeling. We told him what we were trying to accomplish and he came up with some good ideas and made it happen. Very trouble-free.

  22. Many years ago near Brady we built some big pens like that with welded and cemented iron posts and such. The ranch sold six months later, we lost the lease, and we were out a bunch of money! Hope they are enjoying our pens!
  23. You may be underestimating the amount of time that you'll spend putting them back up after the hogs knock them down.
