  1. The Roman Orgy at "mere ten dollars and ninety-five cents per person" was mandatory for a group dinner with dates before a prom or a formal dance.
  2. Mayo on a sandwich is serious business: Man fatally shot Atlanta Subway restaurant worker after sub had 'too much mayo,' police say https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2022/06/27/atlanta-subway-worker-shot-dead-sandwich-too-much-mayo/7746951001/

  4. It was more impactful the first time that I saw it.
  5. Both teams have their batters working hard to extend the pitch count. Unlike Texas in the CWS this year. I'm sure that Coach Gus was a bit frustrated watching the lack of Longhorn plate discipline in Omaha this year.
  6. Tough call. Blow U sucks and I hate the SEC! SEC! SEC! thing. I do think that Ole Miss has better pitching, which is a big deal in Omaha. Should be a good championship series.
  7. It's going to be a long off-season. September 3rd can't get here soon enough. Hook 'em!
  8. Isn't the normal complaint that somebody is going CR outside of CR? This IS CR.
  9. All of whom have been confirmed by the Senate. I just love to see "news" stories where they talk about SC Justices that were "appointed" by WJC/GWB/BHO/DJT.
  10. OK, I'll take just one for fun. Do you think that these supposed traffic accident externalities will go away once we magically all drive electric cars?
  11. Because most of the implicit subsidies relate to the unproven hypothesis that: "Implicit subsidies occur when the retail price fails to include external costs and/or there are preferential consumption tax rates on energy. External costs include contributions to climate change through greenhouse gas emissions, local health damages (primarily pre-mature deaths) through the release of harmful local pollutants like particulates, and traffic congestion and accident externalities associated with the use of road fuels. Getting energy prices right involves reflecting these adverse effects on society in prices and applying general consumption taxes to household fuels." In other words, Hocus-Pocus. Total nonsense. Making it up as they go along.
  12. That is such a bunch of hocus-pocus on the implicit subsidies related to fossil fuel. Weird that the supposed explicit subsidies are a fraction of the implicit subsidies. Now do alternative energy. Mining, manufacturing, shipping, erection, and ultimate disposal of windmills after a 20 year useful life. Mining, manufacturing, shipping, erection, and ultimate disposal of solar panels after a 15 year useful life. Mining, manufacturing, shipping, and ultimate disposal of batteries after a 10 year useful life. I'm not convinced that this analysis is looking at both sides of the equation. Bastiat did a good job on issues like this: http://bastiat.org/en/twisatwins.html
  13. Second on Elephant Room. Fun and unique place. Peche (don't know how to do all the accent marks) on 4th street is also a notable place. https://www.pecheaustin.com/
  14. Second on Grove Kitchen. Nice, upscale place. Haven't been post-pandemic, so can't comment on service issues.
  15. JAK's Chicken Fried Beef Rib (not always available) is tits.
  16. I might go there just for those greens!
  17. Perhaps (depending upon who you talk to), but I only have the stink of WTI Sweet Crude on me.
  18. Sorry for the screwed up last couple of posts. My point is that the record shows that Carter had plenty of Saudi stink on him -- just like the other guys.
