  1. Frank Erwin says "Hook 'em" and that it's always the "bottom of the fifth" somewhere!
  2. Ad aids cured for me. I only do desktop on Chrome.
  3. I'm thinking 1942 based upon this: "Edwin Brazelton Snead went into business for himself when he founded E.B. Snead Construction Company in 1932. Ten years later, he opened his first quarry in Austin, just southwest of MoPac and FM2222" https://www.texascrushedstoneco.com/about-us/our-history/ They next did the Far West quarry, and then the big place south of Georgetown.
  4. There may or may not have been some ladies in Boys Town in Nuevo Laredo that could have helped with that issue.
  5. The loss of the ability to cross-border party has been a huge shock to Texas HS/College culture. There were some good times over there back then. Today -- not so much.
  6. Nathan Bernier turned that Twitter thread into an article, just ridiculous how this whole thing has been over complicated and screwed up -- remember that the trains ran just fine over 60 years ago: https://www.kut.org/austin/2023-01-24/what-happened-to-the-zilker-park-mini-train
  7. Another Man's Woman - Atlanta Rythm Section Green Grass and High Tides - Outlaws
  8. This thread does not inspire confidence in the City of Austin's ability to complete a multi-billion dollar transportation system. They can't even get a miniature train to work in Zilker Park. Read the whole thread for the play-by-play of this failed project.
  9. This.

    Help!

I've been to private parties of that size at Armandos and Brenann's. Both were fun.
  11. FWIW, this issue has been fixed for me.
  12. I wouldn't worry too much. EWG has a long history of pushing agenda-oriented (we're all gonna die!) studies and stories.
  13. Este.
  14. I was in 3rd grade when my Mom discovered my cache of Playboy magazines hidden in my backyard fort. Next came my confession to her of how my buddy had stolen the mags from his Dad's stash to establish our backyard fort collection. Of course, she had to immediately get on the phone with that Dad and tell him what a horrible, perverted person he was to have such trash in his home. I was in 7th grade when my Mom discovered my copy of "Everything you've ever wanted to know about sex, but were afraid to ask" stashed in my bedroom closet. Next came my confession to her of how a friend of mine had stolen it from his parent's library and shared it with me. Of course, she had to immediately get on the phone with the parents and tell them what horrible, perverted people they were to have such trash in their home. I didn't bring any of the girls that I dated in high school or college home to meet my Mom until I was pretty much already engaged. No sense in risking her making another phone call to the girl's parents!
  15. A good friend and client of mine runs the "Five Minute Law" blog, and this is his take on the proposed FTC rule. Worth a read if you are interested in this subject. What Everybody’s Missing About the FTC’s Proposed Non-Compete Ban by Zach Wolfe in Non-CompetesJan 17, 2023 https://fiveminutelaw.com/2023/01/17/what-everybodys-missing-about-the-ftcs-proposed-non-compete-ban/
  16. So, apparently you really can fuck your brains out?
  17. We saw plenty of deer in Menard/Schleicher county area this year -- just not as many that anyone wanted to shoot. The drought took its toll. If we get rain in the coming year, many of the mature bucks that we passed on should be pretty good in the fall. We slayed a bunch of hogs, though!
  18. For the record, I've only accidentally clicked on this thread a couple of times.
  19. It sounds like you must have watched the "Don't talk to police" video upstream. Classic video and good rules to live by.
  20. FIFY.
  21. Big news! Clouded leopard who escaped at Dallas Zoo is found after enclosure was cut, police say https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/clouded-leopard-goes-missing-dallas-zoo-grapples-serious-situation-rcna65734
  22. The Winters Blizzards fight song is a variation of "Winter Wonderland" -- kind of clever.
  23. Cedric Golden of the AAS seems to think that it will be happening next month: Golden: Texas baseball alumni game is a family affair because of Cliff Gustafson https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/golden-texas-baseball-alumni-game-120035834.html
