  1. True Texans never complain about getting rain.
  2. Wow. With a bit of PE money, the Winstanley's plan to expand their footprint of suckage! El Arroyo, Austin restaurant famous for funny signs, is expanding across Texas The home of the iconic marquee sign will open multiple locations in the state in the next few years. https://www.mysanantonio.com/food/article/el-arroyo-austin-new-locations-17405032.php
  3. RIP to a badass naval aviator. Reportedly the only pilot who shot down both Japanese and German planes in WWII. https://www.legacy.com/news/celebrity-deaths/dean-diz-laird-1921-2022-world-war-ii-flying-ace/
  4. Doesn't seem like flyover country is embracing EV's much.

  6. Any calls on Teams. The end.
  7. I hit the newish (maybe 9 months?) North Deckhand location to sit at the bar and watch the Nebraska-Northwestern game this afternoon (poor Huskers!). Good place. Much larger store and it has a better bar/sports bar vibe than the previous converted Dairy Queen/Taco Bell location (just around the block from prior location off of 45 in Round Rock.) Had a big Jellyfish IPA and an order of Salt & Pepper Calamari. The squeeze bottle of hot sauce they serve with it was kick-ass. I would have been fine with the hot sauce and a bowl of chips! Carry on.
  8. Indeed. One program was passed by Congress. The other one (checks notes) was proposed by executive decree due to the (checks notes) continuing threat of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  9. Nice. Right across the cemetery from the big AA complex and just down the street from where Madalyn Murray O'Hair's Atheist HQ was. Lots of deep thinking going on in that hood.
  10. That is a good place. I'm usually downtown, so I more often go to Terilli's on Greenville to scratch that itch. I like to eat at the bar. It is nice when a fun dinner doesn't have to be a big production!
  11. And is there a more glorious smell in the world than the incorporation of the trinity into hot roux? Looking forward to Fall!
  12. All that really happened today is that the POTUS directed the Department of Education to establish a process for discharging certain student loan obligations. This is a government project, so no doubt that there will be lots of forms to be filled out to establish eligibility for any forgiveness.
  13. Muledick and Bama tied for the lead. Big surprise in this crowd!
  14. I was talking about the defense attorney that was in the interrogation room with the boyfriend and that was quoted directly from the tape of that interview in the Chron article. My bad.
  15. Bumping this thread. Half a dozen people showing up at the Surly Texas/Bama tailgate just can't be right!
  16. I know her, too. Great person. Crazy story.
  17. Never Been Any Reason is the ultimate song for pre-gaming activities.
  18. That's just the median, Grasshopper. Surly LawDawgs are all top 1%ers!
