  1. I guess with no Saban to scare people, ESPN is now calling the shots. So LSU would get Bama, aggy, and Ole Miss?
  2. 5M per team per year supposedly will be kicked in by ESPN.
  3. We'll play one Texas system school (UTSA/UTEP and either is already scheduled till 2031), one FBS either from Texas or a bordering state, one P4.
  4. aggy will get Texas, LSU, and Arkansas. Arkansas and aggy had the 10 game series at JerryWorld. It's not someone that should scare aggy since I can't recall Arkansas ever getting a win against them in this series. They have SWC history. It's also regional. OU will be the interesting one to watch. Texas and Mizzou is a given. The 3rd is harder to figure out. It will be another team that doesn't really have a firm 3rd traditional rival. I'm betting either South Carolina or Florida. LSU will get aggy, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State. I don't think the SEC is going to pair Bama and LSU. Bama won't want that since they already have Tennessee every year. Bama should get Miss State, Auburn, and Tennessee. I think this is a good gauge of what rivalries will stick around. https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/news/college-football/southeastern-conference-most-played-rivalries-all-time-entering-2019/
  5. Who else would we be tied to if not Arkansas and aggy, two historic rivals that we have a hell of a lot more history with than anyone else. LSU? Mizzou? Alabama? None of that was happening nor did it make sense for that to be the case.
  6. ESPN paying 5M to each school per year
  7. This is what SI predicted back in 2023. Missouri: Oklahoma, Arkansas, Vanderbilt Arkansas: Missouri, Texas, Ole Miss Texas A&M: LSU, Texas, Mississippi State Texas: Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Arkansas Oklahoma: Texas, Missouri, Florida LSU: Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Alabama Ole Miss: Mississippi State, LSU, Arkansas Mississippi State: Ole Miss, Kentucky, Texas A&M Alabama: Auburn, Tennessee, LSU Auburn: Alabama, Georgia, Vanderbilt Vanderbilt: Tennessee, Auburn, Missouri Tennessee: Vanderbilt, Alabama, South Carolina Kentucky: Mississippi State, South Carolina, Georgia Georgia: Auburn, Florida, Kentucky Florida: Georgia, South Carolina, Oklahoma South Carolina: Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky
  8. 3 + 6 would be fantastic. Bama is probably out but a schedule of OU, aggy, Arkansas, Tennessee, Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss and Mizzou is pretty nice.
  9. Here you go. I'll PM it to you as well.
  10. Perhaps he's not the only one with mental health issues if you're posting this.
  11. Quinn Ewers is serious business?
  12. That's a great list. We haven't really looked east as she hasn't shown any interest. Cal Poly is a great school. My niece goes there. We'll also apply to the latter 4. So far we've got: Trinity, Colorado College, Colorado, Colorado State, UCSD, UC-Irvine, Cal Poly, San Diego St.
  13. This thread but in the form of a book https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/222376640-enshittification
  14. Yes, we're planning to submit all applications before November 1st. We're not leaving anything to the spring other than a final decision. She has a deadline of getting the early draft of her essay to our college guy on Saturday. They'll meet next week to clean it up and work on other prompts. The Common app makes this so much easier than before. She's got most of the other portions done, it's just the essay that's hanging over her head right now. I hear you on the weather. That's the same objection I had to her being interested in Grinnell College in Iowa. That would be one where if she got in and wanted to consider it then we'd need to visit in January or February. Our plan is to go visit some of these if she gets in so she gets an idea of what reality is like at each of them.
  15. This reads like they couldn't find a replacement so he's not leaving. Regardless, let's kick their ass on Monday.
  16. We went to the small college fair on Sunday over in Addison. Our college guidance guy gave us some schools to look at and talk to. It was pretty busy and very loud so talking with colleges wasn't as easy so we just grabbed brochures and talked to ones she was really interested in. She liked Willamette University in Salem, Oregon as well as Reed College in Portland. The lady at Willamette recommended we not even bother visiting unless she gets accepted. If she gets accepted, they reimburse you up to $400 for travel to visit. Not a bad idea honestly. Going on a tour has no impact on whether she gets in or not. We heard otherwise from places like Trinity but maybe that's because it's so competitive to get in there. He also recommended Austin College in Sherman and Southwestern but those had really long lines so we just grabbed their brochures. I'm not sure we're going to take the trip to San Diego so I may just get a travel credit that we can use later after things are more defined for her as far as where she could go. So many of these places have great virtual tours that it can give you an idea of how things are. We can always make a trip later if she gets accepted. There's another small college fair in September that has some she's already interested in/visited like Colorado College and Grinnell. We also are going down to Austin on Columbus Day since she'll be off school. We're going to drive by Southwestern to take a look around and have a full tour for Texas at 2pm. She has a deadline of Saturday to get a draft of her essay to our guy so he can help her. He gave her a great idea on a prompt that she could try so we'll see how it goes.
  17. Shaking my head that we went from it being a given that slavery was bad and a stain on our country's legacy to "well it wasn't all bad". They are that fragile that you can't say this country ever did anything wrong because that challenges American exceptionalism. Of course, they could talk shit about America during the Clinton, Obama, and Biden years but now everything has to be whitewashed.
  18. Is the juice worth the squeeze?
