  1. Well Gilroy said the same thing so I doubt there's much friction other than some jealousy on the accolades Andor is getting from critics. Filoni can handle the nerd side of Star Wars just fine but he's definitely a Lucas disciple down to his inability to write compelling dialogue. Ahsoka proved that out. Gilroy writes for adults. Filoni writes for the prequel and Clone Wars generation. I think Favreau is too busy to care that much. Gilroy's dismissiveness about not caring to fill the same mythos exactly as they do might rub him the wrong way. I don't know why they would need to collaborate or communicate since Andor is a bottled in series. It won't have any effects on Ahsoka or Mando other than Mon Mothma making an appearance which she's already done. All of the people from Andor and Rogue One are either dead or their stories ended. I know Gilroy leans on Pablo Hidalgo and the story group for lore and making sure he's not stepping on toes or breaking canon too much. They did completely rewrite the K2SO origin that was in a comic book but who gives a shit. That crap bothers me to begin with. Adding Mon's Senate speech actually worked well because it was her open rebellion against the Empire warning her colleagues that they're all being played which not as many people saw. Then you can still have her give her Rebels speech because it fits with asking people to join the Rebellion. I know Dan Gilroy was opposed to using Mon's existing speech because he hated it so Tony wrote a new one for the show but they still referenced the Rebels one. https://www.empireonline.com/tv/news/tony-gilroy-andor-existence-mandalorian-exclusive/
  2. Just move to 9 games. No one wants to see SEC teams play shitty FBS and FCS opponents. 9 conference games ensures at least 4 SEC teams in playoff because the SOS of all the SEC teams increases instantly. It's better for ESPN. It's better for the fans who have to shell out $$$ to watch home games. You might lose a home game one year but you gain it back the next season. The CFP just needs to say everyone plays 9 conference games to qualify and at least one other power 4 conference foe in the OOC. Make home and homes mean something. If they expand to 14 or 16 then who cares about worrying about not getting in. The Big 10 and SEC will take most of those spots.
  3. At least he got the runner at home.
  4. Didn't he stash it on Niamos (Miami Star Wars) with his Imperial credits in the room he was staying at and then gave it to Melshi when they went their separate ways after One Way Out?
  5. Gilroy's lasting impact on Star Wars could be making Lucasfilm have a higher standard of screenwriting and dialogue going forward. Doubtful but it's definitely set a standard.
  6. He's really going to enjoy the Guard of Honor on Sunday.
  7. What, you think you're a Liverpool player with that attempt?
  8. No, no. You're not supposed to touch the ball.
  9. He's your Gerrard slip?
  10. This is where Arsenal fans need Hagbard to come in and say the 2-0 lead is the most tenuous position to be in.
  11. User rated. We won't know the viewership until a week or so later.
  12. With real prisoners and slaves in place of animatronics.
  13. Yes and yes. I don't think he'll do anything more with Star Wars. The lightsabers and Force characters just aren't something he seems interested in. He also sees some of the characters as a burden on his storytelling like Vader and even K2SO because of how limited that can make his story. He changed this show from being more K2SO centric. He's interested more in the human aspects of Star Wars. I'll echo something I saw online, he does a great job of making the Stormtroopers actually terrifying and not the cartoonish cannon fodder they're normally written as. The screams when the Stormtroopers started walking down the steps to box the crowd into the kill zone was horrifying. Gilroy has really pushed the Empire back to how they acted in the original Star Wars.
  14. Just go ahead and toss that 5th key out the window.
  15. Well I'd argue the midichlorians was a dumb revision of the Force by George in general but that's for a different nerd thread.
  16. Gilroy really knows how to bring the Force back to what it was in the OT. A mystical energy field that's a religion to some. The healer, the Force monks on Jedha, I am one with the Force and the Force is with me. I was wondering if the healer was also reaching out to Andor with the Force memories of Marva and Brasso. Like the visions Rey saw in The Force Awakens.
  17. Well what if we did threads about threads on Threads? https://www.threads.com/?hl=en
  18. You bring up Lovecraft Country and I wish more people would've watched it. Not every episode was great but when they hit, it was pretty awesome. The Topsy and Bopsy episode felt like something right out of Jordan Peele's playbook. She was also really good in Loki. Coogler and Goransson are long time friends and collaborators. It's really cool how Coogler has his core group that he makes films with.
  19. I have no desire to ever step foot there but I'm sure this will do well.
  20. I think there's value in aggregate threads in the sense of it brings awareness to current shows and upcoming shows in these streaming platforms. It's a good place to put trailers and teasers. There can be a Disney+ thread to show what's coming the platform and an Andor thread since that show has a decent following here. Aggregate threads don't lend as well to weekly discussion though. If a show has enough interest, it will naturally break off as a separate thread.
  21. Supposedly giving up a 3rd rounder and a pick swap with Pittsburgh. If Dak and Ceedee can keep his head in the game, this could work out well.
  22. Disagree. You need to give him something at his lowest point when he's lost the one thing that kept him going. And we know that's a massive gift and important to the cause. I haven't bought a resource book since Rogue One. I will definitely buy one for this series if Lucasfilm publishes one. Forgot to add earlier, the K2 eyeing Syril was so damn scary. Like it was sizing up how to kill him the fastest. All the other units were looking ahead.
  23. Episode 10 spoiler, maybe
