  1. I'd imagine this will be a consideration for Texas, OU, Florida, and Georgia. The SEC doesn't want those to go home and home.
  2. I already said the idea is cast a wide net and see what she gets. Maybe she gets into some of these, maybe she gets into none. Maybe some give her money. Maybe none of them do. Honestly, she may just end up at a small private that has some good merit money. Maybe she ends up at UTSA. We'll crunch numbers and see what's reasonable. There's not just a ton of great affordable schools in this state that I'd like her to attend or think she would enjoy attending. If an out of state private with merit money is close to what we might be able to spend in state then we're going to look at it. If Colorado State wants to give her some money to make it comparable, that's going to be a huge plus in their column. At this point, we just don't know.
  3. No but they were in the Big 12 and are a blueblood. They are still fairly marquee compared to others in the SEC.
  4. We don't really know yet what the 6 random matchups will be but it makes sense if it is flipping around in some fashion the teams every school hasn't played the last 2 years, especially to get Texas and OU to play all the teams we haven't yet as SEC teams. For us our 2026 schedule might be: OU in Dallas (we're the away team I believe) @aggy Arkansas Auburn @Tennessee South Carolina Ole Miss @LSU Mizzou I'm not sure balancing the 6 random teams everyone faces won't take effect until 2028. To me, the balance criteria is so you don't get 3 traditional SEC powers as rivals. LSU, Bama, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, Texas, and OU would be in that category. Next tier is upstarts/decent teams like Ole Miss, Auburn, aggy, you could move Florida to this tier I guess. The final is the lower end of the SEC: Kentucky, South Carolina, Arkansas, Mizzou, Miss State, Vandy. It makes sense to give each team one of each. Again, this is all spitballing. We'll find out more later.
  5. Of course not but you can't ignore geography for putting teams together. It won't all be money and ratings because you can't ask some teams to play 3 marquee opponents as their permanent rivals. There has to be balance and some degree of regionality. There's also the weird ones like Florida, Arkansas, South Carolina, and Kentucky that don't just have 3 ready made rivals that you can easily name. The balance portion is pretty key. If it was all money and ratings, we wouldn't be playing Arkansas. We'd get LSU, Bama, or Georgia.
  6. This is the criteria Ross Dellenger spelled out. Ratings obviously play into it but geography could also mean in-state rivals or cross border matchups.
  7. Do people not get angry when their playoff bound NFL team loses to a conference teammate, possibly costing them home field advantage? Do those game mean less?
  8. Auburn is absolutely getting Georgia and Bama. Auburn-Georgia have played 121 times and it is the oldest SEC rivalry. Then Auburn gets someone shitty like Mississippi State. I don't think they'll give them Florida too. That's played less frequently. The criteria will be 1) geography, 2) rivalries, 3) balance. It's not just ABC that the SEC needs to fill out. It's ESPN, ESPN2, SECN as well. Auburn Georgia would go on any one of ABC/ESPN/ESPN2. Auburn-Miss State or South Carolina goes on SECN.
  9. Cregger said Magnolia was a big influence on this movie. He said Magnolia showed him you can make bold epic movie that don't apologize or try to walk the audience through the meaning of it. There's also the trait that both share a story of interconnected characters. Paul is basically John C. Reilly's character even down to being a cop with a moustache. I've seen it twice now and enjoyed it just as much the 2nd time because you pick up on subtle things that you gloss over like Gladys being with Alex when the cops are talking to him early on.
  10. Well we certainly don't want the Justice Department to be weaponized like it was under Biden. Oh wait, what Trumps does makes no difference to hypocritical assholes.
  11. The Cracker Barrel stuff is amusing to me because it's just another in a long line of examples of how fragile white MAGA is. BUT THE LEFT IS ANGRY AT AMERICAN EAGLE!!! Are they? I think most people don't give a shit. But the right is surely up in arms at this Cracker Barrel redesign and what it's supposed to mean. Such massive pussies.
  12. They'll flip Arkansas. Arkansas knows getting Texas as a permanent rival is all that matters so they'll play ball with playing in DKR for 2 straight years.
  13. Mizzou for sure. The 3rd will be interesting. I don't think it will be Arkansas though that makes sense for regionality. I feel it will be someone who doesn't have a good 3rd rival like South Carolina.
  14. We're booked up through 2029. I doubt we drop anyone. 2030/2031 P4 home and home matchup will be interesting to see who we can get. Washington or Oregon would be great. Clemson, Florida State would be fun ACC opponents but I'm not sure we'll see any ACC teams that have an existing SEC rival. I doubt we dip into the Big 12 for a while and I'd imagine BYU or Colorado would be the choice. 2026- Texas State, Ohio State, UTSA 2027- New Mexico State, Michigan, UTEP 2028-Louisiana Tech, @ Notre Dame, UTSA 2029- ULM, UTEP, Notre Dame 2030-UTSA only 2031- UTEP only 2032-@Arizona State only 2033-Arizona State only
  15. I guess with no Saban to scare people, ESPN is now calling the shots. So LSU would get Bama, aggy, and Ole Miss?
  16. 5M per team per year supposedly will be kicked in by ESPN.
  17. We'll play one Texas system school (UTSA/UTEP and either is already scheduled till 2031), one FBS either from Texas or a bordering state, one P4.
  18. aggy will get Texas, LSU, and Arkansas. Arkansas and aggy had the 10 game series at JerryWorld. It's not someone that should scare aggy since I can't recall Arkansas ever getting a win against them in this series. They have SWC history. It's also regional. OU will be the interesting one to watch. Texas and Mizzou is a given. The 3rd is harder to figure out. It will be another team that doesn't really have a firm 3rd traditional rival. I'm betting either South Carolina or Florida. LSU will get aggy, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State. I don't think the SEC is going to pair Bama and LSU. Bama won't want that since they already have Tennessee every year. Bama should get Miss State, Auburn, and Tennessee. I think this is a good gauge of what rivalries will stick around. https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/news/college-football/southeastern-conference-most-played-rivalries-all-time-entering-2019/
  19. Who else would we be tied to if not Arkansas and aggy, two historic rivals that we have a hell of a lot more history with than anyone else. LSU? Mizzou? Alabama? None of that was happening nor did it make sense for that to be the case.
  20. ESPN paying 5M to each school per year
