  1. OTOH...if all our guys drop, we one day can brag about how we've developed them to outperform their ratings.
  2. Our disdain for continuing to trot Montero out there in key situations is mutual. As you note, he has the stuff to get people out. But after so many bad outings, letting him "work through it" in a pennant race is crazy. I feel the same about the catching situation, except there we know Maldy lacks hitting talent...and is declining in other areas. I'm not nearly as perturbed with the OF decisions to this point.
  3. Of course. Dusty's perplexing lineup and bullpen decisions have been a constant of his tenure. We could afford them when we had more of a talent advantage, but not sure for how much longer. Maybe he's not the only one "doing the thinking," but under both Click and Brown the managerial moves have often been head scratchers. Again, just my opinion.
  4. Dusty the thinker. All righty, then. I'm pretty sure Dubon has done more to help this team than he has. Without Dubon, my guess is that we'd be at least 7 games out. Without Dusty, despite all the injuries we might still be leading the division. I realize not everyone will agree, but whatever.
  5. Dusty, this is why we're reluctant to let you "do the thinking."
  6. Tack on a run here, have Pressly slam the door and make our inadvisably clothed hosts at least start hearing faint footsteps.
  7. Why not walk a guy to lead off every inning? Never mind that having been a horrible mistake since Doubleday.
  8. I just love how often that "get me over" first pitch heater to 27 ends up being a "get me over the fence" result.
  9. Chas for an Ohtani rental? Oh, all right. 🤣
  10. If it doesn't happen today, I guarantee it won't happen this month.
  11. I see why my few friends who claim Cardinals allegiance are chapped. What a bad team.
  12. Put Roach and Boyd together on a podcast and it would spell big trouble for calm.com.
  13. You know what tends to happen to the bats after we score in double digits. Hopefully not this time, though.
  14. We're just what the Cards ordered.
  15. In the midst of bemoaning our bad luck with injured starters, I'll add that Javier, Brown and Framber not being nearly as bulletproof as expected is no ray of sunshine, either.
