  1. I think Brazil and France are my favorites. Gabriel Jesus in at the #9 might be the first time Brazil has had a real out and out threat at striker since the 2002 cup. They’re world class pretty much everywhere on the pitch. France probably has the most complete team from top to bottom in the cup. They’ll be the favorites in 2022 for sure, with how many class players will be at their peak for that cup. Germany will be good but I think they lose out in the semis. Argentina is who I pick for my other semi-final team. Belgium will be their typical dark horse self. Semi-final level talent but Roberto Martinez isn’t a good enough manager to make me pick them to go past the quarters.
  2. Jeff Fischer is a piece of shit. Fuck that guy.
  3. https://twitter.com/dmcwilliams_/status/978006721951125504?s=20 if this is real 🤮
  4. I like Pretend We’re Football a lot because of how laid back and relaxed y’all are for it. Seems like it’s fun to make, which makes it fun to listen to. Probably not enough “Fire Shaka!” on that pod for much of the fan base. Also, the Rod Barbers podcast was dope, but I guess that one is dead? The other sports podcasts I listen to are more soccer and Man City specific, so people here won’t be interested in them.
  5. Revolver is good, but they got bought out by macro. AB/InBev I think. But so did Karbach, and they’re still making good stuff.
  6. 2M in San Antonio is worth a trip if you’re in the area. It might make the traditionalists get irrationally mad but it has good meat. Their sauce is more of a sort of syrup glaze instead of a sauce and instead of white bread they offer to sell you home made tortillas.
  7. Belikin regular is meh, but Belikin Stout is legit my favorite Caribbean beer. I think it could hold its own at any hipster craft beer bar.
  8. My favorite torchy’s taco is the “why the fuck is this taco more than $3.00?”. It’s the one where you look at the menu, say “fuck that” and then go to some place called Whateverthefuck De Jalisco in that Rundberg and Metric area and get much better tacos for something like $1.75 each.
  9. The relegation battle looks like it could be fun. Only 8 points between 18th and 10th.
  10. I think Banks will be gone before the season starts, and Hamm could go with him. Both have been recruited over IMO.
  11. If Nelson leaves we have no one who can fill in that nose tackle spot without some notable growing pains. That spot is the most important spot for our D. Without Nelson I think we can expect some problems up the middle for at least the first few games. I'm not worried about the DBs as much, but Wheeler needs to step up next to Gary Johnson and its about time for McCulloch to have a breakout year.
  12. I think Hand will be better than Warehime. I can't imagine him being any worse than Warehime. But I don't think Hand is a truly elite coach by any stretch of the imagination. Reminds me a lot of when Mack brought Searles in to replace McWhorter. A net positive for sure but I don't think he will be the trigger for us really making it back where we want to be. Hand is good enough where he won't be holding us back, and that's alright with me.
  13. Any chance we convince Jase MccLellan to not suck with OU? Best player at the high school level in the state for me. Not gonna pretend that I can predict how good he would be at the next level but at his current level he's an absolute monster.
  14. Is this thread talking about Manziel or the Jones family? Both are a piece of work.
  15. I think CDC is the best hire that the university has made in 20 years(or since Mack). But that's not really saying too much.
  16. I might be the only City fan here, but it's looking pretty nice from 16 points clear.
  17. England has too many holes in midfield to make a run. Depending on the draw their peak is r16. Seriously, a midfield with choices of of Lallana, Henderson, Alli, Dier, Ox, is just hollow.
  18. Yeah, if Meekins is working with the inside WRs it will be something to watch. I actually thought Meekins was my favorite surprise of Herman's staff choices from last season. His work with the TEs and especially with how he had Brewer developing way ahead of schedule before his injury was good to see. Worried about Warehime getting the TE job, and just being employed here in general. Herman keeping Warehime around was worse than Charlie keeping Watson for that second year IMO.
  19. I think both are gone, but even with the stadium being built Chelsea spent really poorly. Their transfer targets weren't the right ones IMO. Should have gone for a more pivot style static DM to pair with Kante instead of Bakayoko. Bakayoko is too keen to make runs forward and it opens up massive holes in midfield. It's a big reason Conte's been forcing the 3-5-2 this season instead of staying with the 3-4-3.
  20. Yeah, There are a few things to look forward to but I wouldn't bet on a massive improvement. I'd be happy if we hit 8 wins. D will take a step back and don't see much reason to think the O will be more than slightly improved. Hand might bring a little help but the RBs need to be better and our WRs are still coached by the same guy who had them rounding off every route and jogging out of their cuts. Losing Dickson will be the biggest blow of all IMO. Pinning the other team back so consistently probably won us at least 3 games last season. Gained experience should help a fair bit but I don't see more than 8 wins on our schedule.
  21. 2 more weeks before we take that title after beating the rags. Seriously though, I'm worried Conte won't work too hard towards top-4 knowing he won't be managing the team next season. Bad management in the transfer market cost Chelsea this season. Kind of feel for Conte because it was clear from the start of the summer window that the Chelsea front office wasn't giving him their full support.
  22. I think talking about the act of skiing and the things pertaining to it is good here. That includes discussing the mountains, lodges, equipment, ski stories, stuff like that. That being said, Snowbird is projected to stay open until June. Still some good time left to hit the snow.
  23. We aren't gonna be forced to start 9 true freshman on defense and 6 on offense. That alone makes me think that Herman should have a better year-2 than Charlie.
