  1. No, RP is a position, as is SP. Just like CF, LF, RF are all OFs and the other are IFs. He should be in, there is no rational argument against it. Elite RPs make as much or more money than #2s in most cases. And depending on years of service more than #1 starters.
  2. See that's the problem with the idiotic system we have. If he's a hall of famer he's a hall of famer. Blocking how many people you can vote for, this dumb ass "he's not a first balloter" and the most idiotic "he used steroids even though it wasn't tested for and we also know everyone was doing it" are just stupid. The baseball writers of old are basically the umpires, stuck in their ways and abusing their power If the ten best players at a position aren't in the hall, what the fuck is going on? And Billy is inarguably one of the ten best closers of all time. That may change, but of retired guys it's not arguable.
  3. Like pulls them up into my stomach, not a fan
  4. I don't think that's even close to true on Meyers. He doesn't have enough value to bring back a piece we would deem better because that's not usually how trades work. And we don't have the talent to package with him. He has talent and he has value, just not quite enough.
  5. I mean, anything's a dildo if you want it bad enough...
  6. Yep. The problem with Meyers is that Dusty was starting him intentionally over Chas. It's not that he's not a reasonable OF on a good team as a back up or spot fill. He's actually likely upper echelon in the league as a bench player. We need some depth, but a LF just to have a LF is a bit silly. Meyers in CF and Chas in LF is pretty solid with Yordan at DH. Same goes if we DH Chas on a day with Yordan in LF. Chas or Yordan out of the lineup in favor of Meyers is just dumb AF though.
  7. Anyone else dream of a Delta unisaw because that's what Norm used?
  8. Yes, but they are heavy beast of a saw. I'd need to grab a trailer from a buddy and then still get it on there. And even then they hold their value. There is one posted for 2700 in the Houston area right now. Not even the one I want, but new that saw is 3800 and that one is 20 years old. Probably more than it cost new as the used price So makes more sense to me to get the saw stop new given the tech advantages and improvements over the last 10-15 years in saws
  9. I really want a powermatic, but yes, sawstop is what I've been eyeing lately. But hard to talk the wife into one given I just bought a festool sander, Kapex and dust extractor. Even with me redoing half the house haha
  10. I need want things in my workshop. An 8 inch jointer, which frankly I can work without and have forever. But I have a 20 year old Delta contractor saw that is true, but is dust hell even with the mods I've made to close it in. And it's just not as powerful as I'd like. But damn, 3500 for a table saw that I want is rough
  11. Yep, gas logs. She lit it and went to the other room. She likes to do that with TVs too, turn them on then leave the room. Those cause less houses to burn down though
  12. My wife owns her own salon and is a hairdresser. That's amateur hour... I like to play a game of removing things from the shower, drying them off and putting them back under her cabinet. I get it down to about 20 things and then it slowly grows again back to 100
  13. One of the reasons I don't have a jointer is because I want an 8" and not the 6" and haven't found a good enough deal yet. And from what I've seen it's definitely the way to go if you can.
  14. Waiting? I think you meant wanting... And yes, I too agree
  15. haha, nice Ran that fucker full blast, again, fucking up the paint job, again. The gas key is now hidden and I'm the designated turn-er on-er of the fireplace henceforth
  16. To bring this thread back on topic: I have busted my rear completely redoing our fireplace mantle, tile and the whole wall it's on. It looked great (see woodworking thread in hobbies). part of the reason for doing it is that my wife, for the second time, ran the fireplace full blast with the damper closed. Soot all over it. I was going to have to repaint it again and we wanted something different anyway. We're on about a week since I rebuilt it and it was completely done. Guess what happened on Friday night when she was drunk?? Well yeah, obviously we had sex. But guess what else??
  17. My first assumption is you are joking, but just in case you aren't: With all the respect in the world, if those are your questions then you aren't ready for marriage. Women aren't men. Men aren't women. That's on the whole obviously there are outliers and no one person is identical. So unless you have an outlier of the outliers that's the reason why to your questions. No woman is perfect. No relationship is perfect. As guys we know damn well we aren't perfect. Find someone that can handle your flaws and that you can handle theirs. Took me a long time to really understand that.
  18. There is at least a pair down near my house in Pearland. See them pretty regularly
  19. There is zero reason to not keep both of them. We need elite relievers. I actually think if 2/22 is right, go get Neris back too. But again, not my money
  20. My dad used to dub videos all the time. We had hundreds of them. He'd find a movie he knew no one liked and then would record porn over it and just leave it on the same shelf. Worked great for him until the next door neighbor's kid was over and my mom leant them a movie they wanted to see... Pretty sure it was less than 3 months before they finally got a divorce (the drinking and wife beating were higher on the list of reasons to be fair). But I still always found the porn thing funny
  21. Clearly they thought she was fucking around. Really didn't take long for people to react and help though. Also, in a place like that people always think someone that works there will help.
  22. Come on, like any long-term closer deal has EVER been bad... oh... wait...
  23. Sam Jones has 10, is he also better than them? Robert Horry has 7, is he better than Jordan? Stop it man. Rings are great and they matter. But again, you and I both know that list of players I wrote are better. And it's kind of silly to argue it. If you want to do a "in their era list" then cool, Russel probably goes higher. I don't do that, and I think it's kind of silly to do it the way you do it. Either way, there is no basketball skill argument for him over those guys
  24. Cool, you have an opinion too. If you think Bill Russell is better than Kareem, Wilt, Shaq, Dream, Malone, Giannis or Robinson then I don't know what to tell you. Those guys would eat him up 100 times out of 100. That's guys from multiple eras and one that actually did.
