  1. It does make you wonder if ND boosters were driving those rumors without much input from the coaching staff. They have NIL to spend and nothing behind Leonard so their money guys are thinking they need to reload ASAP at QB to contend again next year. Who better than a senior with playoff experience? CTJ covered it, but we probably shouldn't expect much from Charles and Sharma. Even Terry looked small next to Alfred Collins in playoff practice and probably needs to add weight/strength. Supposedly UNC had someone from the nutrition staff pretty much literally follow him around. Hopefully we've got a comprehensive plan in place and Shaw understands that this is his contract year. Exactly. No need to be passive and hope that someone we likes enters.
  2. Here's Stereogum's 2024 list, helpfully divided up into subcategories. I've found some good stuff on here. https://www.stereogum.com/2290987/the-best-jazz-albums-of-2024/columns/ugly-beauty/
  3. We played like hammered dog shit today but damn at least we didn’t quit. In a playoff game. In the first half.
  4. They’re gonna get us for targeting here
  5. Whoever supposedly offered Quinn $6mm:
  6. Why was Muhammad acting like he wasn’t aware a football game is happening?
  7. I have no ill will whatsoever toward Quinn. Very thankful for his contributions to our program. ...but man, him going somewhere else and improving dramatically a la Nix would feel like a real kick in the nuts.
  8. Wasn't the rumor that he gave his brothers a lukewarm review from inside the program and that helped push them to Bama? I don't really give a fuck about any of the Brocks at this point. They made a business decision to turn their back on our program at a time when we really, really could have used a win, and that's their prerogative. But as far as I'm concerned the whole family can fuck right off and go enjoy game day at Bama TCU Miami from now on. no me gusta
  9. I guess they could just wait and see how January and the freshmen look in the spring and tamper a couple guys into the portal in the April window.
  10. The fact that Deion would be a terrible professional coach does not in any way preclude Jerry from hiring him. You know that. Put me down on the record as being in favor of Deion, because I'm dead inside. The only feeling I have left regarding the Cowboys is morbid curiosity at how ridiculous the circus can get.
  11. I'm not at all paying attention to this game, but did the Eagles really give their superstar injury-prone running back 31 carries in a pretty meaningless week 17 blowout? That's some real big brain shit.
  12. Plenty of guys say they want to be closer to home and then end up at Oregon or whatever.
  13. We’re done. It’s all portal now. At this time last year we were still in Terry Bussey’s ear but there’s not a comparable situation this year.
  14. I would put Tech in the same category as someone like a Michigan State or a South Carolina. Big enough brand and alumni network that they can retain a seat at the table if they have one, but not big enough to muscle their way in if they don’t. Their fundamental problem is that the SEC and B1G seats are now thrones and all other seats have a wobbly leg. So the only real option is to try to spend their way into long term relevance. They are lucky that they have sugar daddies willing to do that. An interesting aspect of the current landscape is that there will be programs that are not traditional powers that can gain relevance just by virtue of a fortunate NIL situation. SMU, UNC, maybe Duke - programs like that. Obviously we are not in yet in the final form of college football. One day the music will stop, and every program will be on one side or the other of a line drawn in the sand. It’s easy for us as Texas fans - we were born on one side of the line and we’re going to stay there forever. Tech knows that they have spent their whole life hanging around in the vicinity of the line.
  15. Memphis has some of the worst unis I’ve ever seen
  16. Oh nooooo
  17. These two teams understood the “minor bowl game on a Tuesday night” assignment.
  18. UMass ran for 5.7 ypc on 40 carries against Georgia two weeks before the SEC Championship game. UMass. Maybe Hayden Conner isn't very good, but I refuse to believe that UMass has 5 OL better than Hayden Conner. It wasn't about having to respect a running QB, either. UMass's QB had 6 rushes for 23 yards (long of 10) not including sacks. He's not a running threat at all. Every Longhorn fan is all aboard the Sark train, and rightly so, but it seems to me that Kirby has outcoached the shit out of us twice so far this year. Put some blame on Flood and Choice as well.
  19. Glad to see OU fans are doing well
