  1. What’s the saying? Always keep the numbers in the back of your mind?
  2. Lalas is an idiot and it's not a good take, but the criticism of him isn't understanding the distinction between socioeconomic/racial diversity (which is a worthy goal) and stylistic diversity (which, as Lalas points out, national teams don't really have time to deal with). If I squint, I can kind of see what he's getting at. Isn't everyone always saying that the strength of the German program is that from the national team all the way on down to the youth level, the training/philosophy/etc is all rowing in the same direction? Whereas on the other hand, we have key senior-level players that came up entirely in the English or German systems and basically arrived to the USMNT fully formed. A better counterargument to Lalas than the one given in the article (France national team with lots of ethnic - although maybe not stylistic/experiential - diversity) would be someone like Messi, who left Argentina as a young kid to train in Europe and still integrates well into the Argentina national team. Of course that's Messi.
  3. You ever met any teenagers? Dope pics for the ‘gram are pretty much their #1 takeaway from this entire process.
  4. Matt Turner worn the US shirt for the last time? Wouldn’t surprise me.
  5. That doesn’t seem like the kind of thing that you just say “fuck it” and move on. Take it from me, I’m possibly the world’s leading expert on saying fuck it and moving on.
  6. Rick Steves a fucking real one
  7. Yeah they’re at different times in every city. Houston might not be “officially” over but I made it to the end of the march so I wandered off.
  8. All done in Houston. 100% peaceful. Didn’t see any counter protestors, either. No idea on crowd size but I’d guess at least 5k. It’s hot. No pics.
  9. @UTHornFan014 sent you a PM
  10. I love these pics where the rest of the family is all smiles and the teenager is trying his best to look like the hardest mfer on the planet 😂
  11. Considering that the poor dude just stumbled away from a fiery plane crash in which 200+ other people died (including his brother who was sitting in the next seat), and he's laying in a hospital bed physical pain and shock...I'd say not a whole lot.
  12. Tidy 1-2-3 for Zeke. Absolutely dotting those 45 mph sliders.
  13. Evan been swinging a hot bat lately. If he wasn't so useless against lefties he could really be something.
  14. Patrick motherfuckin' Corbin. Never a doubt.
  15. Juiced for Buxton with no outs. Not ideal.
  16. Any concern that Tech will come after TK once Canady is gone? Would we be able to fend them off?
  17. Double bird strike? That video of the takeoff is crazy, it just can’t gain any altitude. RIP to the victims
  18. Wait so the top 6 guys in this metric were: 3rd overall pick 4th round pick 2nd round pick 3rd round pick 2nd round pick a true freshman Seems good
  19. Is Excalibur just as bad? I’ve always wondered who stays at those two.
  20. I’ll be there in Houston. First protest of my life, AFAIK. PM me if you’re going, first beer afterwards is on me, assuming we’re not on a plane to El Salvador.
  21. I assume you're right. Like I said, I don't know the pool very well beyond the big names. From quick googling, it looks like Musah and Sargent also bailed and Pepi is hurt. It's just fucking frustrating to read "well most of these guys won't sniff the roster anyway" knowing that there's only a handful of opportunities to play between now and 2026. We can't come up with 11 guys that are available, uninjured, willing to play, and have a chance in hell to make the final squad? Either, A) we can, and didn't (Poch wasting time), B) we can't (pool is paper thin and reliant on several players with questionable commitment), or C) these bums aren't as far from the final roster as people say (obviously bad).
  22. OK but isn't that a big problem in and of itself? We have precious few opportunities to actually play games together between now and the WC. Especially opportunities to play against a credible European opponent. Is the talent pool so thin that we have to waste one of those games on a bunch of guys that have no business being part of the '26 team?
