All the love for Cole, no love for his travelling buddy, Colton Gordon?
first career save in a game he entered with his team up 11-0(!) and one in which he gave up 3 runs over 4 innings
Sounds like my fantasy baseball team this year. A bunch of mediocrity that is good enough to be on a team but your lineup can only absorb 1, at most 2, of them and you never know which bat is going to be hot so you risk sitting that one and starting the ofer…
Which is not an enviable position to be with Espada making the decisions.
So if that’s what you’re saying I agree. But if you’re saying that’s a good problem to have, not sure I can get there
Lol
Gonna need more than that.
What does “this year” mean?
back by Sept 28 (end of regular season)?
back by Nov 1 (game 7 of World Series)?
back to West Palm Beach by Dec 31 for some sort of offseason voluntary workouts?
Illustrious group. He may regret doing that.
Astros first AB home runs:
Jose Sosa 1975 (Pitcher! 9 career plate appearances)
Dave Matranga 2003 (6 career plate appearances)
Charlton Jimerson 2006 (9 career plate appearances))
Mark Saccomanno 2008 (11 career plate appearances)
Zach Cole 2025
Which would explain a lot of things because his on-field example has been really shitty this year, and especially lately.
terrible slump at the plate that starts with a horrendous approach to each AB and then taking for granted being able to get to third in extras on a grounder to first base.
completely inexcusable.
we’re still panicking but not in complete meltdown mode if we pull out that first game against the blue jays and every little thing in a close game matters including properly handling how to go from 2nd to 3rd on a grounder to right side in extras.
Rockies going to re-purpose that video:
”Colorado Rockies 2025 Season Highlight Reel”
that’s it. That the full year video
(Actually, I’ll allow a post credits nod to that 17-16 win over the Pirates when they were down 9-0 before coming up to bat. That finish was badass)
Expos fans booing Selig at the 2017 HOF induction ceremony (there for Rock Raines) are still some of the loudest boos I’ve ever heard (and I’m an Astros fan and have seen plenty of Astros’ games on the road since 2019).
