  1. No better days than blue bird days with no one else out. I prefer it to be a lot warmer at this point in my life before I go out though. That is one hell of a dock in that picture. Most everything around us has to be floating, so the concept of it is way different than what you see in our area.
  2. I would say in this instance, they would be wrong to go any direction other than peaceful protests/marches. The department response has to play some part in the response that takes place.
  3. No it wouldn’t. There are a number of large corporate headquarters based in Memphis, commercial space availability is as low as it’s ever been, development is running wide open right now especially with the Ford deal, etc. Memphis has its issues especially with safety in the central district area, but it is night and day different than it was 15 years ago. I’m in and out of Memphis a lot and I would rather go to Memphis at this point than Nashville.
  4. The officers have all been fired, charges are pending and also filed already against a couple of them, the PD has been extremely open about how bad this looks and is going to look, etc. We’ll see what happens tonight and this weekend, but the PD, City, etc have done what they can to be open and lay everything out in the last week up through releasing the camera footage today
  5. Build taking place this week, should have my 2 door Bronco in the next couple of weeks. Popped up in my Ford Pass app today ready to activate. Ordered it 18 months ago to be an extra vehicle to use at the lake/beach instead of a Jeep, looks like it is going to be the daily driver for a little while.
  6. It doesn’t matter what I’m driving, I park out away from everyone. The easiest way there is not to worry about how everyone else parks, is to park as far away as possible.
  7. No, there was nothing really compelling about the interview from the part I heard. She sidestepped most of his questions about the interesting parts of her life.
  8. He replaces the entire fence? That’s an easy yes for me and seems more than reasonable to offer on his side and accept on your side.
  9. They still have a ways to go. I’m considering getting out of mine after 9 months and they are still offering more than I have in it on trade which seemed nuts with the declining used market. The other thread is a great read. Very odd, but still worth the time.
  10. We rarely file estate tax returns unless there is a taxable estate, one is required in a probate situation, or it is borderline taxable based on arguable valuation amounts. There is no requirement to file by the IRS unless taxable. However, you still need determinations of value to set inherited value without the estate tax return.
  11. You don’t need an inheritance tax return. The life insurance goes to the sister the other is split based on the will technically, but most people would ignore it. There is no income tax impact to any of you based on the facts presented. You do have a gift tax issue technically between your sister and you two for the split of the insurance she signs over. 99% of people would ignore it and claim it was split according to the estate, technically she needs to file a gift tax return.
  12. Yes, blew hubs on two, front axle on one, sheared the plastic gearing on one of them with the hub issue, etc. They had vacuum leak issues for several years that would randomly engage a hub and something was breaking when that happened at speed.
  13. Wait, so now trucks are luxury goods? We have very different opinions of that term. I also don’t know that i would agree the average new truck buyer is “young” people unless we have a very different opinion on the term young. My back parking lot at the office has an eclectic mix of vehicles, there is only one newer model truck. Most staff people are in large/small SUV’s, older trucks for the male interns, and a couple of cars.
  14. I’m the opposite. I average 25k-30k miles a year, trade every two years, and the last 3 F150’s all had issues. Most were front end related as the 4wd system (which i actually use regularly) was problematic due to the plastic parts used now. The GMC’s prior to that had trans issues. Up until the last 9 months, I towed a lot, drove a lot, and probably wasn’t the easiest on vehicles. The other benefit to trucks is resale value. I’m out of mine every 2 years or so and have always come out great on buy/trade pricing. Hell, this F250 is going back in for $8k more than the purchase price if i trade it.
  15. If something near the majority drives them, by default it can’t be a status symbol. Plus, there is nothing status like about most trucks. This whole train of thought is completely illogical for a sub $XXXXX vehicle or we have different ideas of status. It’s an SUV with a bed that gets used occasionally if anything. Hell spending $60k on a new F150 makes more sense than a large segment of vehicles on the road for someone looking to buy new.
  16. Or they realized jeans were a better every day wear than whatever they were wearing prior. Again, that logic makes zero sense. Adaptation has more to do with usefulness than it does any cool factor. People wore Jordan’s because they thought they were cool, Jordan’s were worn by a small minority of people because there were better options available for every day wear at better price points. Trucks are no different price wise than a lot of other vehicles, so for $72k (much cheaper options available, but I like my Platinum) I can buy my F250 that does everything when I need it or an okay optioned Tahoe/Expedition/whatever that has similar interior space through the second row and more limited usefulness. Again, trucks aren’t cool, just functional at the price point.
  17. How exactly does driving something that half the rest of the people drive equate to status symbol cool? If I was worried about status, there are way more vehicles out there that would get second looks at the red light over a truck. Also, simple solution for your second problem, trade your Tundra for any number of the smaller trucks that are now on the market. Problem solved. It’s such a strange discussion worrying about what other people drive and their reasons for driving it. I agree the 2500’s have gotten too big which is why I’m getting out of it. However, I never sat in my F150’s thinking to myself boy I wish this thing was smaller. 2 kids, 2 dogs, a truck has basically been our open bed SUV for the last 17 years of having kids. Now, they do their own things so I may go a different direction and keep an old truck for truck duties.
  18. This whole issue seems like a very simple thing to resolve. Depending on true level of hotness, I’m sure we can find someone that is willing to “help” out.
  19. These threads are the best threads. I’ve had a truck for 29 years since turning 16 with most of that being 2 year old or less F150’s. I’m not going to drive a mini truck, anything it can do can be accomplished with a trailer. I haul boats, trailers, stuff in the bed, etc pretty often and never considered going away from trucks. However, while I was waiting 9 months for my F250 I currently drive I sold my boats, toys, etc and don’t have a need for it right now. They will give me more than I paid, so I think I’m going to trade it for my Bronco (18 month wait) and then start looking for an older F250 to use when I need one. I will miss blinding slow drivers on the interstate in the left lane at night.
  20. They got tremendous value, they are no longer getting tremendous value. At the point in time an extension kicks in, draft status no longer matters in the discussion. His cap hit is right around $50M each year the next two years, that is not continued value and also will further exacerbate the lack of talent around him which he can’t overcome and play his way around.
  21. No, they’re not. Buffalo’s D has been decimated by injury and they have no ground game outside of Allen. I’ll take Allen/Diggs over Dak/CeeDee 100 times out of 100. So many dumb takes in this thread.
  22. They didn’t get gouged or brutalized. The defense did their job outside of Diggs dropping a sure fire INT that turned into 7 and a circus catch by Kittle extending a drive. This is 100% on the offense.
  23. Turpin runs straight into the kicker on a potential TD. Diggs drops an easy int that turns into 7. Dak does Dak shit like always. Schultz makes back to back dumbass plays costing them a chance at the end. Wilson lets Kittle bulldoze him on a play that would have set up a long FG. Easily could keep going and going and going. Team is dumb, coaches are dumb, bunch of stupid plays ending with a stupid play call.
