  1. Legislation getting voted on includes making PPP related expenses deductible essentially making the PPP funds nontaxable. It’s a boon for those businesses that ended the year up and also needed relief for those that didn’t.
  2. Watched Ava, it wasn’t horrible. I’ll watch anything with Malkovich. Also watched Old Guard, thought it was reasonably decent for a movie on Netflix.
  3. Today it’s taxable, tomorrow who knows. The current legislation being batted around has it corrected to non taxable but that specific piece has been in discussion since May. It will eventually get changed to non taxable I believe, but it makes tax planning a bitch right now.
  4. I stopped in a new liquor store the other day that I haven’t been in. Looked behind the counter and he had bottles of Birthday Bourbon, the full selection of Weller varieties, a number of BTAC bottles, etc all sitting in the case. I walked up and asked for pricing and this jackass said it was his personal collection he was keeping on display in his store. It was sitting right behind the counter where most people put things they are selling at a premium. When you got closer you could see several were missing small amounts. Guess I’m going to have to buy a liquor store if I want any selection going forward.
  5. In one of my finer moments as a dumbass teenager, I funneled Jack Daniels with beer chasers. Up until that point I drank JD like water pretty much daily. Now it makes me sick to smell it. The rest of that night I have zero recollection of still comes up when we all get together.
  6. Regional differences are interesting, stopped in a local store yesterday and they had handles of BT on the floor around the shelves because they wouldn’t all fit. Same with bottles of ER. I have had zero luck on anything of interest the last few weeks. Been to stores while I was in FL last week, KY this week, and back home in between and have found not much of anything other than a Little Book. Plenty of mid range stuff out there, but I was looking for something I didn’t have. Buddy with a liquor store offered me a Weller Antique he had, but he had someone willing to pay stupid money for it so I told him to sell it. He’s in a small town that mainly sells cheap junk, so his allocations of decent stuff are pretty sparse. It is interesting what he has to sell to get certain allocations though, a lot of it is tied to moving a lot of junk brands in the family.

    NFL betting

The tease worked out well and was the bigger bet, the line should have been fine other than McSorley making one pass.

Steelers dropped back to -10, seems like easy money but there are a ton of variables there. May tease it and the under.
  9. Bought one on GameStop’s website Friday, they release a new batch fairly regularly.
  10. Throw a gold spoon, pick up a couple lady fish, then cut them in chunks and use them on fish finder rigs in place of mullet if they aren’t hitting mullet. Typically, they get destroyed but it wasn’t in the cards this week. You can also put one out on a free line during warmer months.
  11. Spanish Mackerel, Jack’s, and Ladyfish are all over the beaches in SWFL right now. Pretty much could catch one of the three on every other cast. Cut up Ladyfish led to dealing with Stingrays, but they were fun to screw with for a little while. The reds were not touching anything. I guess they are fat and happy on mullet right now and I was not set up for fishing live mullet this week. May try it when I’m back in a couple of weeks if the mullet run is still on.
  12. Traditional t-day meals are my favorite get together of the year. We skipped town and went to the beach this year rather than get together with family (several work in healthcare) with the local COVID outbreaks. State championship football game is next week also and everyone was supposed to make an effort to stay quarantined, so we packed up. Cooked a ham, stuffing, potatoes, and a few other sides but it just wasn’t the same.
  13. For someone with an issue with the show, you post in this thread more than anyone which seems odd. I hope he signs a new contract. It’s still worth a listen some of the time and with the app I can pick what portion I listen to.
  14. Half day on the 16x44, backhoe and a dump truck to move it to another spot on our property knocked it right out. Now I think I overpaid based on others having multi day dig times. Plain ole dirt was a big advantage although they did hit the old septic tank which slowed them down a little.
  15. Food truck at the farmers market does a biscuit, sausage patty, over easy egg, topped with sausage gravy. It’s my meal for the day those weekends we go.
  16. When you buy new ballast pumps next year, you’ll decide to winterize the ballast system going forward. Any system with water needs to be winterized and make sure it’s cleared out.
  17. I keep mine in a shop I keep heated, but I still winterize it just in case something happens to the heat. I don’t check on it very often unless I’m out at the farm for some reason.
  18. You still need to run a stabilizer in the winter I believe. There is still an issue with condensation and evaporation in the fuel system. Running nonethanol fuel can actually compound the water issue because ethanol combines with water and burns the water off whereas gas will stay separate and water can build up.
  19. Your manual should give you a rundown of everything. On mine I change the oil and run fuel conditioner through first. Then I disconnect all cooling hoses and drain the water, pull the drain plugs on the block and manifolds and drain all water, partially fill ballast with RV antifreeze, fog the engine, and disconnect and charge batteries. Others will just run antifreeze through the entire cooling system and then do the other steps. There are other things like plugs, impeller, change all fluids, etc that are on other rotations. I’m in a colder winter environment so some steps may not be necessary.
  20. Pretty much the same one I use, just use self rising instead of AP which eliminates all the extras and a little less crisco. Get a pastry cutter and it’s a simple recipe to follow.
  21. Biscuits are easy, just start with White Lily flour. Add buttermilk and shortening and you have a proper southern biscuit. Cook some tomato gravy and you have the perfect breakfast.
  22. Seven Marine is ending production after the New Year, so you may able to get you a good deal on a 627.
  23. Excellent series. The mannerisms of the lead actress and how they used them throughout the series was pretty fascinating.
  24. I’ve had some pretty good luck pulling into some liquor stores in KY that are off the beaten path. I stopped in one store near Madisonville last fall and picked up a GTS, Little Book, Blanton’s, EHT SB, a Michters 10, and a few others. They had them sitting on a shelf behind the counter so I went ahead and bought most of what they had. In recent trips they have usually had something of interest still.
  25. Rain on the west coast of FL ended up not being as bad as expected. Wind has been blowing hard, but skies are blue at the moment. It blew through quickly, we’ll see what the turn back causes I guess.
