  1. Receivers are not doing him any favors tonight. Numerous balls have hit hands, facemasks, etc that aren’t being caught.
  2. Damnit, this is painful. Hate when they bastardize the Star Spangled Banner. Just sing it.
  3. Threw down a chunk on Dogecoin this morning for entertainment purposes just to see what today did. +25% in 6-7 hours, think I may exit this one soon.
  4. Converted the traditional several years back where I could make backdoor Roth conversions going forward.
  5. RC, have you looked at PVDG? There is a lot of positive information out there about them and the upward movement since the end of November.
  6. Was doing some research last night on them and saw a couple of brokerages targeting mid $20’s for them inside of 3 months with strong buy recommendations even at today’s price. Who knows where it goes, but it has picked up a lot of steam out there.
  7. You and me both. I’m so late to this party that based on my past buying history, everyone should sell everything that has been discussed. I tend to buy the peaks.
  8. Or take your $700k profit in a few months and celebrate.
  9. That is what you call a solid rate of return.
  10. Correct, all income that comes out of the Roth that meets the qualified distribution guidelines will be tax free. Any advisor worth his weight would tell you not to trade high risk products in a retirement account because you are playing with your retirement. However, if you use it correctly and limit your risk as much as you can while planning in other ways it is a tax free vehicle for high growth.
  11. Schwab allows OTC in retirement accounts, you just have to click through the warnings. I would assume Fidelity does also. You have to have settled cash in both.
  12. Think I’m going to join the party although late it appears. Moved some things over to a Fidelity account to try my hand. Waiting on the balance to settle for multiple days sucks while you read this thread.
  13. It makes a difference. On the other taxes, married AGI over $250k kicks in the NIIT of 1.45%, over $450k kicks in the full 3.8%. Then right at $500k is where it goes from 15% to 20% on the capital gains tax. The best place for these type gains is a Roth. It’s also probably the place you should be dealing with the least risk, but it sounds like most everyone on the thread is starting with fairly low investment amounts so it’s not like you are risking your retirement as long as you are doing other things as well.
  14. Simple math, short term realized gains (held under a year) will be at ordinary income tax rates. Long term realized gains (held over a year)will be on a sliding scale of 0%/15%/20% based on your income level. Hit it high enough in any one year and you may have an additional 3.8% kick in on top of the 20%. You would be better off funding your next round in tax free retirement accounts. As noted above, go back and make Roth contributions for 2020 and make them for 2021 on the same day if you are eligible with some of the funds. Then you have tax free growth in a retirement account with a base of $24000 to start with. The tax game is just as important with the numbers you are talking about.
  15. Fuck thieves. Finally got the parts to get the timing chain rattle fixed on the 3.5 and the shop calls me and says that someone took a sawzall to the exhaust system trying to steal the converters. They weren’t all that careful with it, so there is quite a bit of damage underneath. $25 payday at the junkyard turns into a likely insurance claim. Apparently they have hit our area pretty hard lately. Wish I had some idea of when it may have happened as we have cameras on our driveway, but it could have been anywhere.

Yeah thats a cool theory and all Hence the word should.

Gives more time for vaccination counts to increase, infection rates to decrease, etc which should lead to fewer canceled games and hopefully more people in seats.

    2020 MLB thread

From what I have read, it was discussed for the last several months but the MLBPA wanted a complete proposal to discuss.
  19. Simple, FL fall, winter, and spring, CO for the summer. I actually like SWFL during the summer. A large percentage of the population has headed back North and the fishing is great. You get used to the heat and to me it’s more manageable than the heat back home.
  20. Bahamas, we’ve talked about keeping a boat on the East Coast to travel from, but I’m looking for a house now where we are with deeper water access to hopefully just keep it at home. We’ll just make the trip through the Keys when we want to go. My wife is not too keen on this whole plan, so I may need to find a new wife also in this process.
  21. I’m starting to think I am the only person in the country who has never ordered anything off Amazon. I don’t see the point.

That the owners have a legitimate reason to try and delay the season a month while still paying the players a full season. It increases the likelihood of fewer missed games and more butts in seats potentially.

    2020 MLB thread

I’m on this team with this one. Delay the season a month and let’s try and get the most games in we can with people in seats and back out locally. I could give a shit about the DH in the NL or expanded playoffs at this point, I want the opportunity to use my normal season tickets as much as possible. If that means a months delay and 7 inning DH’s, I’m good with it. MLB is the only one of the big sports that is now going into year 2 of lost local revenue.
  24. We make the 15 hour drive from TN to SWFL and then back at least a dozen times a year (3 round trips in the last 3 months). You just get in the car and go. Still plenty of people doing the loop. There are several threads on thehulltruth following people that have done it. It’s on my bucket list, but I may go with the island runs from Miami instead.
  25. West Coast? East Coast? The Keys? So many great things to do no matter which area, but I’m partial to the West Coast. We spend 3 or so months a year down there around the kids school schedule. I’ve debated moving my practice full time, but we’re going to let the kids finish high school before doing anything. The ICW through FL (at least the parts we use) are in pretty good shape.
