  1. We agree. I remember more stupid losses than fortune wins during the regular season. Maybe that's just how the human brain works, but this team dropped games to the Knicks and Bulls for crying out loud! They lost in Denver because their 2 leading scorers had off nights. We want to shit on them in the aftermath, but it's not too dissimilar from what happened to the Rockets last season IMO. They happened to go cold on the worst possible moment. They clawed all the way back but couldn't quite pull it off. It happens. PATFO is not moving LMA or DeRozan unless they force his hand. I have said before on this site that I believe Patty has reached Big 3 status within the organization. I stand by that. He's not going anywhere. Idiots will think I'm comparing his on-court ability to the B3. I'm not. There is some "bigger than basketball" stuff in play here. He is the embodiment of the team culture that will be Pop's legacy. For literally decades, the Spurs have feasted on winning the games they are supposed to win. Roster continuity is one of the keys to unlocking that. Flip a handful of those games this season, and they probably have home court in round 1. I can see Dejounte producing 3-4 easy buckets per game off of transition opportunities and drive/kick. I really think this team bounces back in a big way.
  2. When Dejounte went down, it was a real kick in the dick. His absence has somehow become underrated because Pop is a fucking warlock. How many wins is DJM good for next season? 2? 5? That would put them at 50 wins and would've had them competing for a top-4 seed this season. Everyone just needs to calm TF down. They didn't get it done last night but they also were a wild supernova 4th quarter by Jamal Murray away from a sweep. So ya know shit happens.
  3. While it's true that this side of the bracket was less impressive, they still had an outside shot to make the West finals. Which is incredible IMO. There was not a ton of separation between Denver and SA. And they would have been an underdog against Portland, but crazier shit has happened. Haven't read every post but I don't think we see substantial changes. Add Dejounte, and subtract Durant from Golden State, I really think we'll see them in contention again next season.
  4. Connecticut can suck it. NM not hard to find in Austin. Better off just visiting here.
  5. How come they can't figure out how to bring this defense with them on road trips?! They have always had a great home court, but it's unreal how Jekyll+Hyde this season is.
  6. The tail end of last night's game took 5 years off my life. So, good choice by you!
  7. https://www.expressnews.com/sports/article/How-Patty-Mills-became-the-flag-bearer-of-the-13632061.php Still, the Spurs value the 30-year-old backup guard in a way most other franchises could or would not. Mills is the keeper of the Spurs Way, the last strongest link to their bygone championship era, the remaining flagbearer of what so many across the NBA refer to — simply and nebulously — as “Spurs culture.” “Patty is the spiritual leader of the team,” coach Gregg Popovich said. “He’s energetic all the time. He’s always positive. He coaches the young kids. He’s been a huge key in that regard.”

  9. Spurs under PATFO don't do a lot of player for player deals, as it is. So I definitely don't see them trading a guy who they have signed to four different fucking contracts since 2012. He's important to their organization, and they simply don't treat their guys that way.
  10. If Pop ever trades Patty, I'll eat my shoe. Hell, I'd be surprised if he ever traded Pau, TBH. Bigger than basketball on both counts. It took the largest heel turn in NBA history before he was forced to trade Danny Green, for crying out loud!
  11. Whenever someone suggests trading Patty, they show their ass. Now that the Big 3 have vacated, he's the unquestioned leader of the team. Period. PATFO know there is more to winning basketball than pure on court talent. Chemistry, experience, and attitude make a world of difference.
  12. Curious how the back court situation shakes out once DJ is back healthy. Gotta figure Forbes is the odd man out bc Patty has achieved almost Manu-level trust+support from the PATFO. But I'll be damned if Forbes doesn't strike me as a younger version of Mills. So does that mean it is... DJ, White, Forbes DeMar, Mills/Walker
  13. I don't see any "random fucktards" over 20 ppg here: Edit... Image is blurry but you can Google the shit
  14. Patty critics don't care, and maybe they shouldn't.... But I bet he'd look a lot different if he was on a team where he just played the role of 6th man streak shooter. He belongs on a second unit as a gunner. But over the past 2 seasons he has at times been asked to start at PG and/or be the primary ball handler off the bench. Neither are what he's made his career off of. On defense, he's a guy you hide on the weak side who occasionally slides into position to draw a charge. Of course Dame and McCollum are going to roast him. Patty is what he is, man. The guy was HUGE to that 14 title, played injured - took less $ because of it - for which Pop rewarded him. I will be surprised if he doesn't get his jersey retired here actually
  15. No doubt they would've signed him immediately if given the chance, but I'm not convinced he would have been a perfect fit culturally. Pop always talks about wanting players who have "gotten over themselves" and that's not KD as far as I can tell. Great talent. All-timer. You sign a guy like him 100 times out of 100 and never look back. But being a 'perfect Spur' generally has a lot more to do with personality than just basketball skill.
  16. Did you know that the state of Oklahoma law allows for cohabitation or sexual relations between first cousins Spotted this in the wild on Saturday:
  17. Ugh. No that does not look good. At all
  18. Were you there? Haven't seen it online anywhere
  19. Wasn't there for Tulsa, but the USC and TCU games were great both excellent in terms of atmosphere. USC was truly outstanding. Lion's share of the credit to CDC and Co. for their updates and improvements, but credit to the team for rising to the occasion also
  20. Laughable, man. Have you ever seen the documentary on the 05 rose bowl team? Cameras were everywhere and they didn't seem to have a negative impact.
  21. I don't think I recall this. Also, you misspelled schadenfreude [emoji23]
  22. I chortled. For a higher proof bourbon, reasonably easy to find, I like to keep stagg jr. around
  23. Anybody ever been before? Seeking tips. Seems like fun, but also seems slightly..... confused. Is it a Polo Match or a Hot Air Balloon Festival or a Food/Wine Event? https://victorycup.org/fredericksburg/about/
  24. And Marco! Honestly, I'm glad we never saw completely broken down Manu. Not so long ago, He was a key cog on a team that was up 25 against the mighty Warriors.
