  1. Yup. Better than nothing, sure, but the difference between the two is remarkable. I randomly pulled up an Andor episode after finishing Mandalorian ep. 2 and it was like night and day.
  2. First-world problem, but while I love the shorter overall game time, games on TV/radio might feel a bit over-saturated with ads now. Listened to part of yesterdays game and it seemed like Ford and Sparky were going to break every three or four minutes. The ad-to-game-content ratio is definitely up. Almost certainly a better experience in person, though.
  3. Given his ERA near 10 in the ALCS and WS last year, I’m not sure he’s necessary in the postseason either.
  4. Temps just aren’t budging much. Mabry can’t get above 32°. NWS - Mabry Weather Conditions I’m in SA, where it jumped to 34° at about 5:00 this morning and hasn’t moved since. We’re getting melting, but there’s still plenty of ice in the trees…
  5. I’d pay extra to have my view of this year’s team obstructed.
  6. I’m just baffled that beating up your daughter’s imaginary attacker is somehow considered conduct unbecoming the University.
  7. Bob Rose is also worth following. He’s leaning towards the “not quite as cold as some models are saying” for Christmas weekend, but he’s pretty clear that everything’s still on the table. Link Usually updates once every weekday.
  8. Season 2 is supposed to start a year after the events of season 1. Link
  9. I’m no huge fan of Click, and I think Crane has earned the benefit of the doubt in my eyes, but this is a bit much. Fans have a right to criticize. McLane got well-deserved criticism. The McNairs get it. Bud Adams definitely got it. No one needs to own a team to have an opinion. Crane deserves criticism if he has no plan in place and this move ultimately hurts the franchise. Again, though, his run of success gives him the benefit of the doubt for now in my book.
  10. Three quick thoughts… 1. Love to all of you in this thread. Living in SA, it’s not always easy to keep up with the ups and downs of the long season… but I made it a point to check the thread every day all summer. What a ride. 2. Obviously he’s not everyone’s favorite and even Crane doesn’t seem to see totally eye-to-eye with him, but props to Click for building this bullpen. It’s a totally different experience to go through a postseason with that kind of a bullpen. I can get used to it. 3. Avenging ‘80 was great. I’ll be greedy and say let’s avenge ‘86 for the repeat next year. F the Mets.
  11. He had faced Castellanos, Bohm, and Stott.
  12. To be fair, Sparky did the same thing.
  13. How do you exercise the third-year option knowing all this?
  14. An embarrassment to the franchise. Friday’s press release should have said both Primo and Wright are gone.
  15. Funny how last year people thought we lost the World Series because JV and LMJ were out.
  16. Wasn’t there also the whistling thing back in the 2019 series against Washington? Seems like he allows stuff to get into his head and things go off the rails. He might be able to learn a thing or two from Framber about overcoming it.
  17. Want to take a moment as we all enjoy the win to say fuck Gerrit Cole. He deserves every bit of the vitriol that Beltran got when he left back in 2004.
  18. Respect. Before you posted I was thinking that we've been pretty good for as long as i can remember. My first memories are of the '86 team. Was there as an 8-year-old for Game 6. F the Mets. The '90s through 2007 or so were pretty good record-wise with the Biggio/Bagwell teams, obviously other than the 2000 season. 2010-2013 sucked but it's been fun ever since. I think I saw we've had 21 winning seasons out of our last 30... and in one of those "bad" seasons (2020) we still made it to within one game of the World Series.
  19. Not disagreeing with you at all, but lol at the thought of Dusty Baker, of all people, solely judging people on postseason success.
  20. As a fan of the Astros teams that routinely came up short in the postseason in the ‘80s, ‘90s, and ‘00s, I respected the heck out of Correa’s playoff performances. It also should mean something that he’s easily the best shortstop in franchise history. Who else is really worth mentioning besides pre-injury Dickie Thon?
  21. So Dems supported it 50-0, and Republicans opposed it 43-7… and it’s framed as the Democrats falling short? I wish the media were half as tough on Republicans as Republicans claim the media is.
  22. What makes Texas heat so special is the knowledge that absolutely no relief is coming for at least another 10 weeks. And even then, that “relief” will be a day with highs around 89°, followed by a few more weeks in the mid-90s.
