  1. I wish conservatives comprehended this.
  2. it's reasonable to see them win 0 out of 4, 1 out of 4, 2 out of 4, 3 out of 4, or 4 out of 4. none of these outcomes would surprise me.
  3. that may be true, and nice for them, but the majority of conservatives are ignorant and not very wealthy.
  4. Have we done a poll ranking your favorite bourbons under $30? 750 ml. say ten or less. rank them please. bourbons only - no ryes, sour mashes, moonshines, extra staves, port or sherry finish bullshit. here's mine: buffalo trace weller 12 (yeah, I know you cant get it for this, but technically it's an under $30 bottle) knob creek makers mark Elijah craig er10 four roses (small batch) bulleit woodford larceny
  5. that's the one I have, and it's great, but I don't recall paying $74 for it. I got mine at twins in hutto.
  6. Had my first sip last weekend, as well as first taste of wlw. They were both exceptional.
  7. Todd Rundgren Iggy Pop Billy Joel Dave Matthews Steely Dan
  8. Damn, totally forgot about Enchanted Rock. Scratch Pedernales and go there instead.
  9. the republican party is going to gargle our balls in november.
  10. Another option is 4 days in Fredericksburg. You could get to Pedernales for day hikes faster from there, and it's a pretty relaxing town to vacation in.
  11. If you've never been to San Antonio, it might be a better 4-day vacation spot. It ain't the #1 tourist destination in Texas for nuthin. Great food, the missions, the riverwalk, great museums, and for hiking I will submit that no urban area has a better or closer nature preserve than Government Canyon. Over 20 miles of hiking there, all great trails. For Austin, I would recommend Pedernales Falls, a nice drive through Dripping. McKinney Falls, as well as Bastrop/Beuscher, are subpar for hiking.
  12. interesting stuff. keep up the good work hugo. i listened to testimony on cspan last night, they had 4 cyber experts in front of the senate, and it was scary as shit. instead of the billions trump wants to throw at the wall, he ought to give every penny of that money to building a cyber wall. we are severely under-funded there, and that's where our greatest security threats lie.
  13. Had a great time at the Houston Whiskey Social this past weekend. Probably sampled close to 60 different bourbons. An unreal experience, overwhelming and mindblowing. The absolute best was the pappy tasting - healthy pours of 10,12,15,20,23. there is no wonder this brand is at the top of the spirit. they were all excellent, compared to all the others. the next best 5 were part of the BTAC - wlw, gts, er17, and two ryes - Sazerac 18 and thomas h handy. Those were the most interesting of the bunch, all excellent as well. also tried 5 samplings from the knob creek limited edition collection. they had 4 different years of birthday bourbon - (14,15,16,17). I was disappointed in these. My first tastes of birthday and they were not as good as the pappy or btac selections. of the affordable/available bourbons, liked cody road, Hudson, mb roland, 1876, cotton hollow, widow jane. there were so many good ones and hard to be noteworthy when you sample so many in such a short time. they all run together after a while. I was disappointed in the barrel booth. they had probably 10 of theirs there, and I tried at least three and none impressed me. this is disappointing because I have a batch 12 I've been saving back, thinking it will be worth something. it will not and I will be cracking into it soon.
  14. They've got a 25th anniversary batch coming out. Tried it in Houston over the weekend, and it was fantastic. Worth buying if you ever see it.
  15. took 44 posts for someone to come up with this. wtf?
  16. as previously posted, am not a fan of campari. even a drop can overpower a drink, in my opinion. i am proud to stand up and avow that i will be campari-less for the rest of my life. now a pimm's cup is another story. pimm's is the elixir of the gods and flies under the radar. put a splash of that in with your tanqueray and noilly pratt and report back to me.
  17. about the same that donald would.
  18. are you kidding? trump is going to pay people and round them up by the busloads to attend, just like he did at his inauguration and he does at his pep rallies.
  19. every night on fox or oan i hear conservatives complain about being called fascists. now this. nobody loved a parade like hitler.
  20. this thread was better when you two weren't bickering like schoolgirls. oh, and when there were more pictures of ocasio-cortez being posted.
  21. man, i'm so gunshy right now. i bet you i predicted 9 wins for the past 10 years going into the season. there's always a reason for optimism but then we shit the bed.
