  1. The Ragin’ Cajuns would likely boat race a Tom Herman Texas team in the opener.
  2. To the extent that statements like those matter, I think that is a pretty good one from Hartzell.
  3. OU ignoring Arch to focus on Malachi and then missing on him would be a pretty solid outcome.
  4. What's the deal with Brooks and a&m, he's aggy legacy and he has an offer but they are never really even mentioned as a contender. Not a priority for them or he just isn't interested? I guess maybe the answer could be right in the note, visiting CS "hundreds of times" is more than enough to never want to go back.
  5. From the IT notes Machinator posted on the FB board: I'm still hoping we see Ja'Tavion Sanders eventually settle in on the defensive side. If Helm and/or Davis turn out to be real players maybe the coaches end up pushing harder for that. For this recruiting class, if the early returns are ok for those guys I don't see a reason to take a TE unless it's an elite prospect.
  6. Agree with this. Taking a less talented rb because he's bigger feels like a Herman move akin to putting Garrett Gray on the field. I don't get the feeling that Sark is stubborn in the same way, at least I hope not.
  7. Duncanville news sucks but hard to think kids there will hold a grudge for too long if we have success and it's a whole new staff. Anyone know the details of what happened with JQJ to sour things so badly? Coming in as a true freshman with Sam entrenched (and still rehabbing his injury) it can't be that he feels like he didn't get a fair shake at playing time.
  8. IT does a thing where every time a poster over there brings up Ewers the mods act exacerbated by it and give a snippy answer while never missing an opportunity in their articles to throw gas on that fire. I'm really interested in the Banks recruitment too. People with sources on the Texas side from multiple different sites (including this one) talk like we have a big lead but on the ags side they're still penciling him in to their class. Usually once the writing is on the wall (Bryce Anderson) their mods begin the gradual let down process.
  9. I’m curious what point you think you are making by bringing up the SSB while being naively hopeful you are dangerously close to making a breakthrough here.
  10. Holy shit. So aside from the fact that we are 9 months and 138 pages into this and you still fundamentally don’t understand what this is about, are you really unaware that many black people in this country actually do have...let’s say “complicated” feelings towards the national Anthem?
  11. Don’t do this. Just like every school we have racists among our alumni. Let’s be accountable and try to be better. This isn’t an aggy false flag operation.
  12. They need some clarity soon, it has to be tough for them to keep bouncing back and forth between, "is he even SEC good? if he's leaning to tu he must not be a a big priority for the staff" and "actually the whorns don't lead, just their mods trying to drum up momentum. he'll be an ag."
  13. It's also going to be tough to square the argument that the EOT is about one thing - every race and creed coming together as Longhorns to share in a moment of unity - if it turns into the crowd forcefully singing it AT a group of players who have made it clear they don't want to participate.
  14. Hmm. I guess the 3 grad transfer pass rushers were the writing on the wall but I had hopes he could contribute in this defense.
  15. Wow, I hadn't really thought of this...I think 2006 (Colt vs. Snead) was the last time we had a qb competition between two guys with no starting experience? 2010 we didn't return anyone who had started but there was no competition.
  16. Epps certainly looks the part (like a TE at least). I'm not sure if a new coaching staff can make a non-physical player play physical but if this staff gets anything from him it's found money. I trust Sark won't be stubborn enough to put him on the field just because "tall". Owens is a linebacker and it would be great to convince him of that.
  17. This wasn't the point though. The conversation you both are responding to wasn't about cancelling everything that someone finds racially insensitive. We shouldn't and can't do that. You can think doing away with the song is a bridge to far given the facts without saying anyone who has a problem with it are just playing the victim, have an agenda, or have no rational basis to feel the way that they do. Seriously? This is maddening and exactly what I'm talking about. How does it seem like a good idea from your position to say Chinese people are allowed to be offended by this but not black people?
  18. I get what you are saying and I think you are touching on something here. Some people on this thread and those donors who sent the emails want to be able to tell other groups the things they are allowed to be offended by. They are comfortable openly expressing the belief that they don't think a group of people have the capability to rationally navigate their own emotions, thoughts, and experiences. At the same time, most of those people would be offended to be called a white supremacists. They genuinely hate Nazis, skinsheads, klansmen and all of it. Not a single swastika tattoo between them. Their line of thinking is white supremacy though, it just is. It's not as bad or scary as burning crosses in from of a black family's house. That's the active form of bad shit you reference. But this passive form of bad shit is really prevalent and harmful and it gets to the heart of everyone talking past each other.
  19. Smart enough for that dynamite phrasing of ‘bullshit’ but not quite smart enough to simply answer “yes, but that’s not what is happening here”. Or maybe you have another reason to not want to answer it. Guess that will remain a mystery. Gnght.
  20. You are talking about facts and reality like this is 2+2=4. It’s not that. How you described the EOT connection to racism: Loose: subjective tangential: subjective manufactured: your opinion based pretty much nothing second hand: wrong dubious: subjective These are the “reality based facts” you decided the EOT controversy by. Your personal experiences with race could effect who you feel about every one on of them. And you’ve decided you know better. Can you answer the original question now? Is a group of white people telling a group of black people when they are allowed to be offended (and what by) a perfect example of white supremacy in action?
  21. What the words actually mean. You know, like one race’s belief in their superiority over another. I mean, look at this guy: Lol. Literally defining what their reality should be. Because given a set of facts, they didn’t come to the same decision that he did. After all, who would know more about a black kids reality than randygilman?
  22. Explain please. The facts are the song was written to be performed at a minstrel show and that’s where it was first preformed. I wrote that as value neutral as possible. If a player takes that information and decides they no longer want to sing the song, what do you mean that it’s “based it in little or no fact”. Seems like nonsense to me. And you still haven’t answered a yes or no question.
