  1. The rumors that Bama/Georgia/Florida dropped a substantial bag (or even worked their ass off to get in his ear) pretty clearly show that Evan is not a dime a dozen prospect.
  2. Seeing the vert numbers the guys are hitting today I was wondering about this. Do teams take pro-day data with a grain of salt in their scouting compared to combine numbers?
  3. Gotdamn. Won't mean anything for his draft prospects but that would have been the highest vertical for a QB prospect at the combine in the last few years.
  4. Yeah this cycle is going to be different but it would have been better if he had just stayed a soft-commit that was planning on taking visits or never committed in the first place so we didn't have to go through this Notes App de-commitment thing on every recruits twitter timeline. Fuck it, once we get a chance to play some real football it won't matter.
  5. Yeah it happens that a player will recommit but it isn't too common. Most of the time it seems to be when they want to look around and then find that the demand for them wasn't quite as high as they thought (Leon O'Neal). That won't be the case with Stewart, every school in the country will have a spot for him as long as it takes. Maybe if we take what he's saying about visits at face value this is just a reset and we'll still be in ok shape for him but that kind of feels like the "bargaining stage". This fucking sucks.
  6. It was all worth it for the image of Stoops going to sleep thinking he had a sweet gig at UT all lined up and waking up to the phone call that actually he is such a dickhead the entire fanbase mobilized to kill it in a matter of hours.
  7. I guess it would be good for him to get some executive government experience to bolster The Rock/McConaughey presidential ticket in a few years though.
  8. From what I've seen when he talks about politics he comes off as pretty moderate, anti-extremes on both sides guy. Of course in Texas he would be seen as solidly D, especially with his stoner guru self-actualization vibe.
  9. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/former-fox-news-commentator-stacey-dash-disavows-network-distances-herself-n1260694 Once the FoxNews money stops coming in your can always extend the grift by playing the part of reformed conservative minority commentator and see how far that takes you.
  10. No cloak room. I’m assuming the way this thing appears to be headed is good news for us.
  11. First time I ever heard it was in The Royal Tenenbaums. By the way, DO NOT absent mindedly google search for "You've made a cuckold of me" on your work computer.
  12. Whoops: Heat told him to stay away indefinitely. He posted a pretty boiler plate apology and claimed he didn't know what the word meant. I'm guessing the FoxNews won't touch this one in their "cancel culture" segments?
  13. Spring position battle talk: Nothing earth shattering but it's football talk. Basically highlights qb, te, and most of the ol. We will see about TE. I think most here would be pretty surprised to see Brewer earn the majority of the snaps there next season.
  14. You're right, some of our players said they didn't stay for it during the 2019 season. Nobody noticed or said anything because it wasn't the hot button issue that it became in summer of '20. That sort of changed after OU and everything got ramped up, CDC said there was the "expectation" to stay on the field to the media. Coming directly from the AD can sort of be seen as a mandate. Coming back to how it worked on the 90's, 00's, and 10's (with additional context from the report) seems ideal all around. Hopefully fans aren't frantically scanning to see who left or who doesn't look engaged enough while singing.
  15. Pos rep to both of the posters who accused me of “white knighting” while managing to resist the urge to use it as a jumping off point into another pointless slippery slope riff.
  16. You seem mad, which makes me feel awful because this is such a big day for you and now I'm ruining it. Also, I didn't mention or quote you so why are you telling on yourself? Ah, there is it.
  17. Yeah and you poor guys seem to have read and internalized each and every one of them. Wasn’t being sarcastic when I said he had been annoying on this thread. I sincerely hope all of you got the catharsis you needed by mentioning him endlessly today. Separate from all that plenty of y’all continued to embarrass yourself.
  18. Haha, I thought the same thing. You don't typically have the chance make a crow hop when making an in-game throw.
  19. He was there right before Dodge, correct? A guy like him makes sense to me as a fit. Lots of experience and generally respected but P5 teams aren't exactly banging down his door for interviews. If he wants one more chance at a relatively high profile HC job this is probably it. If he fails in a few years he'll just immediately get another staff job. It's not like his career has a rocket ship upward trajectory to protect.
  20. Yeah probably right it just seemed weird to me that Gerry wouldn't just use the direct quote if he was going to paraphrase it to "I'm just not good enough".
  21. The demands were getting rid of the EOT with a sub-bullet point to stop requiring athletes to stay and sing it. I've always taken that to mean they pretty much knew asking the University to dump the EOT altogether was a reach. You're right, he loses the thread and confuses the issue by bringing up the lyrics. There are outright attacks on his character in this thread though. Certainly that is based on more than "should be more clear and focused in his talking points during Skype interviews"
  22. We didn't, Gerry had an interesting note about that today: I'm not sure exactly what to make of "he said, and I'm not going to quote him" though.
