  1. He obviously needs to build on this but this week he finds out how much the heat turns down when you beat OU.
  2. lol ABC still hyping Jackson Arnold pregame How long do you have to suck before you stop getting hyped? If Arnold's last name was Manning the entire country would be laughing at him.
  3. Internet posters will be stupid because that's what we do. But Manning played a solid game today staying in control and making plays that were there. And he was assisted by the OL playing better today than they have all year. They didn't play well but better. He still made some bad decisions on the move (throwing right while moving left) but his physical skills made it work. There were a couple of plays where he needed to just take the first down with his legs because that was 100% guaranteed but instead he threw it which was more like 70% he makes a good throw and the receiver makes the catch. But he's learning and playing well in that environment should hopefully pay off huge.
  4. Hopefully he means by the next time we play. Because it will be true eventually. They scored a TD in 2023 and they won't score one until 2026 at the earliest.
  5. Yep, Herbstreit was talking about how Wisner said that being small when he was young he knew he had to be the toughest to earn playing time. Little guys who compete in football go one of two routes. Either they become total Napoleonic assholes who end up coaching middle school football or they become total badasses like Wisner. I'm glad he chose the correct path.
  6. Best thing about this rivalry. Wisner is a Texas legend forever now. Hell, even Ryan Niblett now has a legendary moment for the rest of his life. Was hilarious how his touchdown was assisted because he ran into one of our own guys and that stabilized his balance to help him score.
  7. Brooks instantly upgraded the offense. We can quibble about how much is because of him and how much is because of how bad Stroh is, but the penalties in the first quarter are the kind of thing that would have been worked out if we had played the kid like we should have earlier this season.
  8. Simon looks like a potentially great back but Wisner is experienced and is so much better at reading our zone running plays than anyone else we had today. Baxter is pretty good at it but with him out today Wisner was far and away the best option today.
  9. So impressed by this guy. I don't think there's any way for us to know how much physical pain he was in at the end of the game but the staff was saying "you're the guy we trust to close this out" and it's the fucking TX/OU game. So he stayed in and did it. He's the man.
  10. Also holy shit we won the third quarter 10-0 and the second half 20-0 What the actual fuck
  11. Y'all remember the last touchdown OU scored? Dillon Gabriel threw it.
  12. Reminder: Kyle Flood started Connor Stroh for the first 5 games
  13. He has also made numerous terrible decisions. Their defense was controlling our offense for the first half, he just needed to play smart. And he did not. Mateer played very badly. The 3 INTs could have been 5 or 6.
  14. Opening underdog? They were favored at kick.
  15. Arch Manning is better than John Mateer. I said it. And it's true. Don't get me wrong, Manning has a LONG way to go but Mateer is one of the most overrated players in the country.
  16. Holy shit they didn't call a ticky tack block in the back
  17. Sarkisian has got to stop auto-calling a behind the line pass on 2nd and long. But great call and throw on 3rd down to get the field goal.
  18. So basically she is sitting on the 50 and has been able to compare Texas fans to Oklahoma fans and she made the obvious decision.
  19. We had two other successful RB runs that were negated by penalties that didn't affect the play. Wisner already had the edge on Brooks's hold and Mosley's had nothing to do with the play.
  20. I would like to point out that the OL has been not great but the biggest issue is inexperienced penalties on Brooks. The kind of thing that playing him more against the 3 straight crap teams would have helped with. But even still it has not been the absolute complete dumpster fire it's been all year with Stroh playing. OU is a good defense.
  21. Matchup of coaching greats
  22. So now we start calling passes behind the LOS once it's second and twenty fucking five .
  23. You replied to a Loomer tweet furious about it. That is the definition of a wedge issue. And he did say something so I'm not sure what the point of playing make believe is. The information is out.
  24. We are past reason. This is a potential wedge issue to unseat these fascist shitheads. They still haven't helped Americans who voted for them and are hurting (farmers, etc.) but they've found the time and money to bail out Argentina and help Qatar. Why? Because regular hard-working Americans can't make them even more obscenely rich. So they don't give a shit about them. THAT is the proper reaction and messaging. Unless you want the "other stuff that's happening" as you minimized it to continue happening.
